No, that is normal in animals when they are in danger, for example, rabbits or newborn birds that have their nests on the ground do that when there is a predator nearby or danger of any other kind nearby. This baby lion just did it on instinct.
I feel bad for the little guy. The cards are stacked against him but with friends like Mr. hippo his chances of survival are improved. It would be great if a sanctuary could capture and raise him in a safe environment. I guess we will see.
All I know is that he made it to adulthood. How he did it is a mystery to me. It is entirely possible, however, that they kept him safe since he was such good content it would have been a shame had he died prematurely.

What a brave lion cub is Misfit The Great warrior who suffered so much trouble due to his week health and indifferent approach of his mother during his childhood. He spent whole cruel night alone without any help that too so much hungry . God realised that Misfit is a bravest ever cub and he deserves full life . Now he is progressing towards becoming a king . We are anxious to see him as a great king .

The reson bring the cub has a bit a disability. The Cubs with disabilities are usually left by their monster to die because they would slow down the rest of the pride, and that can be dangerous at times.

What a brave lion cub is Misfit The Great warrior who suffered so much trouble due to his week health and indifferent approach of his mother during his childhood. He spent whole cruel night alone without any help that too so much hungry . God realised that Misfit is a bravest ever cub and he deserves full life . Now he is progressing towards becoming a king . We are anxious to see him as a great king .

Nice sentiments reflected in most of the comments but the reality is that the little guy has pretty much zero chance of survival on his own. The reality of wildlife is often not very pretty.

The reson bring the cub has a bit a disability.
The Cubs with disabilities are usually left by their monster to die because they would slow down the rest of the pride, and that can be dangerous at times.

Aww poor baby I wish I could save him , I really don’t like all these animal shows that record nature and make money and don’t do anything to save the animal babies because it’s nature but orphan animals are rescued all the time . People always tell me it’s nature but there are so many groups of animal rescuers that are trained of rescuing wild animal. I have read stories on even a group of lions that rescued a little girl from the men that kidnapped her and stayed by her until she was rescued the lions didn’t say well that’s nature
