  • I'm a huge fan of tiny homes, micro apartments, prefabs, travel trailers, but I'm conflicted about the tiny home movement where everyone is building their own monstrous trailer on a flat bed trailer frame. I love the downsizing aspect, but there are so many other considerations that people often overlook.

Renting a lot can be as expensive as just renting a two bedroom apartment, which is really frustrating. In some parts of the world, living in a tiny house isn't even legal - some places require a footprint of 1500sq feet (including garage) before you can even get insurance. I wish more people knew this beforehand.

Buying a Tiny home is great for the upper middle class of America that have a plot of land in the mountains and want a cabin a tiny house on wheels is a great option as a vacation home and a in-law guest home for your parents or for guests. Or it’s an easy way to be free, they only cost around 25k to build on your own (a 26ft model) then you only need to buy land and have a very small loan to pay off , then you can be free and won’t have to work your whole life. Also if you got kids all they need is their own rooms so you could build on a smaller trailer that are way cheaper and just make a simple room for their bed and clothes and a desk for very cheap compared to getting a mortgage with the prices at the moment building tiny homes on wheels on your own property is a great route to freedom!
