FUN Dover Traction Elevators at Embassy Suites South Congress Rd. Location in Austin, TX

These things run pretty rough but are also fast for 9 floors at a speed of 400 FPM. These are very easy to joy ride and I really hope these never get modded. Imo, the cabs were much cooler before the slight renovation a few years back, but the current ones are holding up pretty well. However a mod is likely as the hotel will start a full renovation later this year and it has been rumored that reno will affect the elevators. I believe I made it to this hotel just in time as I’ve heard they will begin very soon. I am so glad I got to see these on my short trip to Austin and if you can, I definitely recommend seeing these. As for the hotel, the lobby is beautiful and looks much nicer than when Andrew filmed here. However, the rooms are in need of renovation according to some people. Also, I was unable to ride the service elevator for obvious reasons.
