I think its a "were" just regarding the fact that he was okay because it happened in the past.
He's speaking present tense all throughout and she uses past to describe a past episode.

Ngl this series is very personal to me as when it first started I was still in high school struggling to find a name for myself and trying to find who I wanted to be. Now I just finished my first semester of college when this came out and it’s so surreal of how far this series on gone!! So hyped for the rest of Season 2 (also how there’s the hints of angst revolving David’s partner is making me worried :’D )
I just picture David's arm around us. It's makes me so happy! And I'm sorry but when David says things won't be as crazy as season 1... #DOUBT!!!!
I would love to see at least one night time cuddles session or David talking care of us whilst we're sick. Just snuggles and cuddles (and secret drama brewing but mostly sweetness and tenderness)

I already have guessed the entire plot which is Billy having a thing for listener and basically tries to break them up and honestly I hope at one point where David starts beefing w Billy and is about to beat the crap out of him but yn stops him so he won't get in trouble and calms him down and then after that Billy who is Clark's son starts scheming w his mum and then a whole plot repeat and just agshagaga I have so many head canons
LOVED THIS. I had a feeling season 2 would strike a cord with me, and already it has. As a college freshman myself, that uncertainty was PALPABLE. It's it's crazy too, because as far as some of the plots of the other narrative series on this channel go, you'd think the stakes would be comparatively lower, BUT NO. Those internal struggles, that shift from high school, unlearning bad habits, losing and forming connections created sooooo much space for drama and anxiety 😭 Hell, I was anxious just listening cos it's so relatable.
I'm already stoked to see where this is gonna goooooo 🤭 Also side note, but istg am I the only one who likes Billy? He's definitely got that sorta book worm, aloof energy, not rude or anything but just kinda into his own things. Idk, but justice for my boy Billy 😩🙏🏽💫.
But yeah, SLAYED
I hope Billy dosen't turn into a bad guy, really scared knowing the absurd angst that Pebbles likes to add 😀
