Definitely not. Historically the French bits were technically never a part of England, Henry II just happened to be King of England at the same time as he was the Duke of Gascogne, Normandy, Anjou and Brittany.

I am actually quite excited to get to play as Tamar of Georgia, it's rare that it is fun to play in the Caucasus region in a paradox game, and I don't remember the last time a significant character or nation was in the Caucasus region. Maybe imperator, but that's about it.

Since they've finally decided to create a new start date I'm positively hoping that this is the beginning of a CK3 renaissance. Iron Century was probably the most interesting start date in CK2, especially with the pre-HRE elective German Monarchy. Seeing it reimagined in CK3 would be awesome :D
Georgian Golden Age all the way. within 6 years from 1178 King Tamar will be crowned marking the peak of Georgian empire. It's all downhill from then due to mongols so preparing for the invasion is an epic playthrough.

This is a good sign imo. Paradox had their hiccup with the last DLC and it seems like they're getting back on track. Even if the new DLC content doesn't live up to expectations, the addition of a new official start date will certainly add more life into the game.
I find it odd in a Byzantine DLC they go with the start date that makes more sense for a crusader rework DLC. Like going instead with the death of Constantine VII in 959 lends itself to an interesting era where military generals controlled the empire and made had an era of reconquests. Like that seemed perfect to show off the mechanics of the dlc. Its and interesting era with the fatimids making their move on egypt soon and otto having just won at lechfeld. Oh well.
Idk why They didn't do different start dates from the beginning of CK3 it would have been the strongest factor for replayability since unlike EU4 and HOI4 people actually would want to play different era's in Ck3 a Mostly RP game, No one is playing 1939 in Hoi4 or 1555 In EU4

Exactly trying to have a Jerusalem game is nearly impossible. The AI cannot win the Jerusalem crusade unless the player(s) carry the entire war.
