this was insanely helpful, like on so many levels. I was kinda just hoping to get a good non-shaky video on the size differences, but your criteria for each one was extremely well informed. Thank you very much!
The best explanation I could find for a beginner with a monitor thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I started on a 27 and when I got a 24 wow I love it way more I can see the entire screen without stressing my eyes to much by looking out of my peripherals all the time 24 for the win for sure
Thanks :)

I am on a 32" 1440p Monitor now for over a year and i love it. I had 27" WQHD too and the higher Pixel densitiy is nice but i love the immersion i get from a 32" inch, also for ME and that is preference, i like competitive FPS gaming more on 32" inch. I only ever played on 90FOV and turned it up to 110 and have no problem seeing enemies on the sides of my screen because my reaction is triggered by movement, humans are build to see everything even a flittle ly that is far far in your peripheral vision. Ohterwise we couldn't have survived lol.
I'm thinking really hard to buy either 32" 1440P or 27" 1080p, which do you prefer? I was leaning towards 32" 1440P though but I'm worried we can see the pixels or it's will look smooth? (I'm seating at around 60-70cm / 23.5-27.5inch away from the monitor) Please share your thoughts : ) Appreciate it
@@shimamura5669 I just bought a 32â 1440p LG from Best Buy $150 off right now

â@@Lyachos hey bro so nowadays It seems like there's a bunch of different brands making the 27" 1440p.. any brands you would recommend? I'm trying to find one on Amazon that isn't too expensive but not gonna break on me or something

very much depends on what type of games you want to play, in my opinion you can go slightly larger with story based games but 24 to 27 inches is better for competitive gaming
@@WePC I like destiny, valorant, Minecraft ofc, and ghostrunner
Depends on type of games played, depends on competitive vs. Casual, depends on how far back you can sit from it, depends on budget... I'm saying 48" oled mounted to wall behind desk ftw.

I currently have a 22 inch monitor which I have no problem with. The problem is the TN panel (bought it for the 1ms response time), but overtime, it just pales in comparison to my OLED phone and 4K TV.
bruh tn panel is worst
go for lg gn800 27inch ips 144hz 1440p at 300$ and below
use your tn panel as a secondary monitor
tried in my 4k 50'' TV 120 hz and it's fantastic. Already have a 27'' 1080p 60 hz monitor, always thought it could be bigger, maybe 28''-30'' would be the right size for 2k with 165 hz...
27â definitely seems to be and feels like the sweet spot both for availability and ease of use at healthy ergonomic distances. Going larger is basically sacrificing peripheral capabilities for a more immersive experience. Only reason you should go smaller in size is lower price tbh. Either way I just purchased a 32â g7 and I think 32â will become hugely popular in next few years. The curve helps the g7 overcome its size for competitive type games

Not really, competitive gamers use smaller size monitors in order to see more without turning their head.

Dell S2417DG which is 24" 165hz 1440p. The benefits i find in this one are exactly what i need, Tn panel for super fast and sharp responce times and input lag, 24" for comp gaming due to peripheral vision and muscle memory , 1440p for insane clarity and visibility which in combination on 24" actually has insane ppi density makin every game feel like 4k. Everyone can buy it used for about 180$ try it out and im sure u gonna LOVE IT. My dream monitor would have the following specs: 1440p 25" 190hz Tn panel which ofc doesnt exist.

Noted!
The difference in 165hz vs 240 hz is not as high as 1080p vs 1440p. 1440p with > 144 hz on a 27" monitor is the sweet spot until, in many years, 4k 32" monitors with 240 hz are worth buying

If you are playing an fps game competitively, then 1080p 24 in is probably the best (also affordable). Personally, I think 1440p 27in is also great for competitive fps while not sacrificing for everyday usage. I would personally go with a 1440p 27in a monitor over a 1080p 24in monitor assuming both are 144hz/165hz. If it is a 1080p 24in 240hz vs 1440p 27in 144/165hz, go for the first option if you want the biggest competitive advantage.
I prefer 24 for fps pretty easily but 27 is nicer for other games

hey guys, i have been using a LG 27 inch Widescreen 2560x1080 for gaming for 4 years now ( its due an upgrade due small screen flickering ) and it has been great, though it is not curved, i never head too much issues seeing distortion in games, unless you increase the FOV above 92 ( roughly )!
but i can definitely recommend going for a 2560x1140 if you really want widescreen,
2560x1080 gives bllack bars on video players, taking up about 20% of the screen :/
i think im going for a square screen again though
i have bought the same monitor it is coming tommrow i have a small question my monitor is 2k 144hz but the thing is my pc is not capable of going above 100 fps in low setting in lot of new games so what resolution do i select while playing 1920*1080 or 2560 and does running on 2k give even lower fps? pc i3 2130 and rx 570 4gb,8 gb ram
@@pupicupi6040 it shouldnt really matter what resolution you select, except for preference, your potato computer will try to do its best either way!
in my opinion, why even bother seeing 1920 on a big screen, that defeats all the purpose :P
What do you think of 48 inch c1 oled for the ps5
I don't understand the need for larger monitors unless we're talking about gaming on 13-15" laptops, you are going further away from the screen as the size increases, one basically can have this much of a content comfortably focused within your field of view. maybe, unless we're talking about eye health related issues but who actually cares more about this than their gaming experience lmao
edit: Also, i'm just assuming things. I do not have experience with large monitor setups myself, laptop user here.
I have two 32 inches. I'll be frank. Im still deciding.these are my first monitors and I just keep finding new info all the time. I may be getting a couple of 27 inches in the future, but for now I'll stick it out. So far 32 seems to be the limit for gaming on 1080 and 1440p. The curve does seem to help quite a bit. But I would love to give a 27 inch. But I guess. Who says I can't just go get one and add it to my collection?

competitive gaming = 24inch 1080p (if its moba/fps then lower the resolution prob 1280x720) and 240-360hz, if its 144-240 then TN (yeah gotta sacrifice from color accuracy and viewing angle etc. but no ghosting and other issues), for single player gaming (aaa title) 27 inch 1440p and if you got a decent hardware then 4K, 32 inch ? What do you think for 32 inch 1440p 144hz 1800curve monitor? Is that ok for gaming in general
if you do not care about a lower ppi (average viewer will not care about this) at that size then go for it, 32 inch is best for console gamers who like single player campaign games, playing shooter games might cause eye strain if you sit at a standard desk. the 1800 curve would barely be noticeable so that will almost look same as a flat screen. good deal in general tho!

I play apex legends on the original ps4 what kinda monitor should I get I was debating weather a 27 or 32 inch monitor
I think it might be limited to 60fps on ps4 so refresh rate isn't really an issue so a larger monitor might be ok for that game
So if you don't have ÂŁ1000+ for a new TV, what would you suggest as the best Monitor for the Xbox Series X. I've done a lot of looking around and I'm lost.
Iâm having the same issue. But I think Iâve settled on a solution.
First ask yourself what games do you play? FPS and racing? Focus more on 120hz. From what I see from windows website the resolution drops to either 1440p or 1080p to get those higher frame rates anyway.
Open world and adventure games like star field, outer worlds, elder scrolls go for 4k 60hz.
Newer games like dead space remake and resident evil 2 3 and 4 are supposedly 4k 120hz but it seems itâs upscaled 4k and not true 4k. Also from what I find is the idea that developers make those games at 40hz and use clever trickery to give an illusion of the smoother 120hz by processing the same frame repeatedly.
With this in mind Iâve come to the conclusion that the series X is actually a 1440p 120hz console with 4k60hz capability.
Also a series X cost ÂŁ450. spending more than ÂŁ350 on a display makes little sense to me. I definitely wouldnât go above ÂŁ450.
Thereâs plenty of awesome 1440p 144hz monitors at ÂŁ300. Otherwise a 4k tv is still a safe bet.
27â IPS panel at 1440p and 4k is so little difference in visual quality at that size. IMO.
Once you start going above 32â 4k starts to become noticeable compared to 1440p.
Personally Iâm considering a 32â VA curved 1440p 144hz panel. Being colour blind, colour palette and true colour is lost on me anyway so I can take that hit easily and I mostly play games like Skyrim, fallout, outer worlds, Witcher so the more immersive feel is what Iâm going for, Iâm also gambling on the idea, in time more developers will account more for 120hz at 1440p. Especially as ps5 got an update to now have 1440p as an option
But I think 4k 60 hz is what most console gamers will have as theyâre likely using tvâs and developers will focus more on that spec.
Also donât forget that the very existence of the series S will throttle this generation of consoles to the 1080/1440 range anyway.
If your 4k tv is still good , save yourself the money.
Aim for 4k 60hz or 1440p at 144hz.
4k 120hz is nothing but marketing. It canât be done on this gen.

Let there be a reply once every year
Best monitor size for a single player gamer and with PS5?
What about if I game on contoller and im not trying to be a crazy sport gamer but like playing competitively. I don't like sitting super close up to the screen and I'm not gonna need to cuz I'm not on mouse and keyboard I'm on contoller. 27 inches seems just to small for me and all of you claiming that 32 inches hurts your eyes are yall playing on mouse and keyboard? If so that would probably have a factor of why a 32 inch would mess with your peripherals. I want my gamelplay to be immerisve but still competitive. I'm stuck between Samsung 27 inch g5 and 32 inch G7. The G7 is twice the price of G5.
Do u have a store behind u?
They must do 25inch 360hz đ
would have watched this if it weren't for the background music
where is side by side comparison ?
Still debating between 24 and 27 what do you guys think
same
24 for eSports, 27 for story based 1st person games
32 inch
Can anybody tell me which one is better a 1080p 24 inch or a 1080p 27 inch
I'll ask 1 question - Saving for series x - what monitor do I buy....to run 2 games...Call of Duty and Forza . Don't play anything else. Coming from xbox 1 series s with a 27" sansung tv. Do I get a 4k TV or is a monitor quicker. Will it make me shoot people faster. Will the 4k be great visually and go well with the series x or will a monitor be better as call of duty and forza only go so high anyway, Absolutely clueless.
A monitor would be better for call of duty
buy the 1080p 144 hz monitor 24-27 inch. Anything bigger would bother your sight by seeing the blocky pixels.
@@slumy8195 yeah that Joewo streamer uses 1080p and was wondering why....high refresh rate no point buying something crazy expensive because they aren't there yet. Cheers
@@slumy8195 but then I'm thinking why have a machine....series x if it plays games in 4k and only use a 1080p monitor - this makes no sense.

Can some one help me
I just got a 32 inch monitor with 165 Hz
I found one for the same price but in 240hz and 24 inch I can still refund my 32 inch and get the 24 inch 240hz but I also like watching movies and shows on a big screen but I also want to play games in high fps what should I do?
Should I stick with my 32inch or should I refund it and get the one with 240hz 24inch pls help me decide
if you are playing competitve games like CS:GO then having a higher refresh rate can give you a slight advantage, but the difference between 165hz and 240hz is only very small so unless you are a serious competitive player then you might be better sticking with the larger screen so you get a better experience watching movies.
@@WePC Thank you so much
hey bro what did you end up doing ? I'm in the same predicament I love 32 inch for single player games and love 24inch for competitive shooters but idk what one to stick with.
1:56 how is that samsung g9 when the monitor literally says alienware on it
27inch makes me feel sick. I cannot sit so close to a screen that big.
DO NOT GET A 32" 5 years later my eyes are fucked up kinda! just changed back to 27 and after a week they already feel better
Lets say I have a 27in monitor, is there a way to use less of the monitors screen to make it feel more like a 24in monitor? or even 20in?
I think so but why would you want to do that?
@@adk4986 I figured out how to do it, nvidia control panel has desktop resize, in case your monitor is too big and you want to make what youâre seeing a bit smaller because you donât want your eyes to have to wander just to see everything on the screen
@@daytns True that makes sense but at that point it would be smart to sell your current monitor and get a smaller one
@@adk4986 yea youâre right, the only reason Iâm keeping it is because my wife likes the big screen for when she uses it
@@daytns oh fair enough
You gonna use all those graphics cards...
Let me get one
32inch i like at 1440p
I have a 27 inch curved Samsung monitor
24in is the sweet spot. It looks good in 1080p and probably will look better at 1440p.
No
24 inch go for 1080p
27 inch go for 1440p
32inch go for 4k
There is no difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz but there's difference between 60Hz and 144Hz
@@fatihahenouze2036 Ya I know the 24in /1080p & 27/1440p pairing. Thats why I said 24in is the sweet spot for me because its the max size that 1080p will look good and will probably look even better at 1440p in 24in size.
about the refresh rate I dunno cus I only jumped from 60hz to 144hz, i never tried 120hz. im using 144hz monitor for a week now and 60hz feels so laggy for me now, i can never go back.
1:16 How many inches is this monitor?
Iâd like to say 27-30 inch
1:15 hahaha! Literally looks like you are inside the cockpit piloting.
I had to use a 32 inch for racing
I have a 27" 144hz 1080p. Should i sell it, and get a 24 inch of the same monitor?
@hello xdxd why?
if you want to, but for what reason?
@@WePC because of it's low pixel density + it's just big. I can also make 150$ if i sell it and buy a benq x11 monitor on retail
@@ziskablyat8451 yes 24 is for 1080 at native res, only makes sense to get 27 if running 1440p
27 is the best. .. 24 i feel its way too small for editing and watching movies!
I need the best 32-inch monitor for under $400.
I am currently using an lg 32gn600, i got it for just 200$, 1440p res with 165hz supporting 1440p 120hz with hdr. It is clean for my ps5. I don't know about fps though.
24 Inch is the best
Best for fps. I just went to 27 inch. Fair bit less fps but looks so good
