    I'm a budding turtle owner. I have a male eastern painted and you have just been a blessing. In India, not much is told to us on how to give the turtle the best possible environment, and you've helped so much to keep him happy. First, I thought he would be lonely. Then you made a video on how turtles don't necessarily need tank mates and what kind of fish they go well with. Though I'm one of the few people commenting, the thousands who watch your videos are all also impacted. Keep doing what you do and may our support drive you forward! #hatersgonnahate

    The best time to buy these is after Christmas. They have them on sale because the are used for Christmas lights. I got mine for like 2 dollars.

    I agree. Timers make lighting carefree. That way the only thing you need to worry about when it comes to lighting is when a bulb blows or needs to be replaced

    Hey!! Just wanted to give a heads up on these timers 😊 just got back from Walmart and found some, near to the same I don't even think there is a difference, at $4.47! There's one that's a buck less but it doesn't have the ground (the third wheeling metal part lol) anywho, thank you for this!! I'd never have even checked them out. I thought they were super expensive haha! Have an awesome day!

    • @inhalefumes6475
      @inhalefumes6475 Před 6 lety

      Why stress coat? Why not API turtle conditioner, it’s made specifically for turtles, cheaper too.

    • @TheTurtleGirl
      @TheTurtleGirl  Před 6 lety +1

      InhaleFumes I got it because it's what I have used for fish and was cheapest at the time...I think $6 for a 16 oz. bottle. Also, I tend to distrust products made specifically for turtles when there is something in the fish/aquatic world that does the same thing and is (generally) cheaper. Most of all, just personal preference :)

      Scoop the poo & uneaten food once a day, feed the turtle. Make sure the basket lamp is on. Play with the turtle. Help the turtle to bask. Change 25% of water once a week & clean out the filter.

    • @TheTurtleGirl

      Not sure of what is legal in australia, but my next suggestion would be a mud or musk turtle! Small, easy to care for, and usually pretty common :)

    Uhhh i found my timer at a Dollar store lol

  • @kevinma6103
    @kevinma6103 Před 6 lety

    I agree and disagree. For turtles timers dont really matter because there is no such thing as to much light for a turtle. I would only get one for a turtle tank if it has plants because to much light is unhealthy for plants. The only upside i really see for a turtle tank is algae control and saving electricity. Also maybe consider getting wireless lights which you can set to turn on and off without a timer or anything once they're set they will run on that schedule forever.(of course you can change it) XD

    • @RockUmagic
      @RockUmagic Před 6 lety +3

      Well it’s not natural for the animal to have light 24/7 for their circadian rhythm.

    • @kevinma6103
      @kevinma6103 Před 6 lety

      im not saying have the light on 24 hours im just saying having a lights out time with a 1 hour variant isnt too bad.

    • @TheTurtleGirl
      @TheTurtleGirl  Před 6 lety +1

      Fair enough, I just appreciate timers because then I don't have to remember to constantly turn the lights on and off. If I forget even once, then I have a bunch of algae the next day...
