@2MOEJOE_ wrong. There's no such thing as just slower without a reason for being slower. In this case the r6 rider i must say is a great rider, his body positioning and cornering abilities are good, and it's definitely not the motorcycle being slower as the r6 is the better performing motorcycle.

For all you new riders out there, the mt-07 has suspension that is bugged from factory, a big part of what allows him to keep up is skill, and an equally big part are those fork upgrades youll notice the stock bike doesnt come with.
I dunno, stock suspension is meh definately but Ive outdone quite a few knee dragging sportbikes on local twisty roads and I've never bothered upgrading since the Mt is a stepping stone bike for me
What exactly makes it inadequate? I keep hearing that the MT07’s suspension is bad in turns but I never hear about what causes this and in what way it manifests when cornering.
@@zander8752 Canyon riding and track riding do not equate at all. A Poor suspension (Such as the MT) setup on track will be much more limiting than when riding canyon roads.

Did you change the handlebar risers to a more rigid type of material. As you know, they are plastic as stock and have a squishy, flexible feeling, imo.

The handle bar always turns in the direction of the turn, at slow or fast speeds. The difference between slow (less than 10 km/h 'ish) and fast speeds is which side of the handlebar you're pushing. When going very slow in a parking lot if you want to go left you'll push the right side of the handlebar and the wheel turns left, making you go left. As soon as you pick up any speed and you want to make a left turn, you'll need to push the left side of the handlebar. That's why it's called counter steering. If you know how to ride a bicycle, you shouldn't even worry about it cause you already know it, it comes naturally.
The handle bars still go towards the turn when counter steering. You move your bar to the left, the bike then leans to the right, and the wheel along with the handle bar follows. It’s impossible not to counter steer at speed, it’s a matter of physics. If you don’t counter steer you’ll go the wrong direction.
It is a fairly small circuit, it seems for naked motorcycles or even supermotard, that they get into a vardad circuit (World Cup type) to see what happens hahahahaha
I owned a 2014 r6. Now I own a 2016 fz07. I enjoy it much more. Much more comfortable bike. Way more torque. The r6 under 10k rpm is gutless. Fz07 I feel the torque all through the rev range. R6 sucks for wheelies. Fz07 the front wheel pops up in first and second gear no matter what. R6 may be the "faster bike" but the fz07 is the funner bike.
oh you dont have stock suspension i seei have 2015 mt 07 hard breaking the front will be a pogo stick and my pegs scrape i have stock exhaust stock bike but do ride with the fast guy i make up for it with my lines and breaking

No matter how hard you will want it to be. No matter what Yamaha tells you. Your bike is no supersport. Its an MT-07 with fairings and less than aggressive clip ons. Yeah MT's have some decent torque. 👌 thats great and all. But higher in the rpm range the Bike dies a slow cruel death. Ive been riding on and owned an R6 since 2005. I still own my 05. As well as an 08 .(best year ever for R6) 8 extra ponys . And trust and know even my 17 year old 05 will still put an R7 out to pasture. Stick with the Twins class. Thats where your "R7" will thrive and get you lots of passing
Looks like biker on mt07 is just more expirienced. Propably if they will swap bikes it will look completly diffrent. But that just my observation.
