BRUCE MATTHEWS was always my all-time player of the Oilers/Titans franchise. Aside from all of his accolades, thanks to his longevity, he's the only player to play with Earl Campbell all the way to Eddie George. Who else can say that? NOBODY, that's who.
My personal favorites are:
1. Steve McNair
2. Derrick Henry
3. Delanie Walker
4. Kevin Byard
5. Chris Johnson
Honorable Mentions:
1. Keith Bullock
2. D. Mason
3. Taylor Lewan
More Honorable Mentions:
1. Jurell Casey
2. Blane Bishop
3. Rob Bironas
Javon Kearse needs some love
Tyler, don’t forget the catch AJ had against Houston to basically win the division. God mode
Great content Tyler. Jeff Fisher, as great a coach as he was, was definition of an arrogant coach. He wanted any reason to sub in Kerry Collins for Vince Young and absolutely altered Vince's approach and mentality towards the game. Bad coaching has destroyed many qbs career. That situation was no different. Fish never wanted him and winning was not enough to change his arrogant mind. Vince could've been a hall of famer with the right staff. All he did for us was WIN as a Young qb, pun intended. 😄
I like Jeff Fisher but when you are in the same position for over a decade with no pushback from the owner about the OC, it created a mess with Vince Young and he just got too comfy...both sides had their fault but Jeff never recovered since the short Vince Young era...
My dog has a titan jersey
Right now: Simmons, Sneed, Landry, D Hop and Stonehouse
All time: Bruce Matthews, King Henry, Warren Moon, Steve McNair and Frank Wycheck
Favorites: King Henry by a landslide, Steve McNair, Eddie George, CJ2K and Cortland Finnegan loved his small stature but fearless mentality. He ate twice his size Andre Johnson's haymackers
As far as WR Ernest Givins was just as good as AJ Brown everybody forgets about Givins
We appreciate all of your hard work, Tyler👏
I agree with you 100% about AJ Brown Tyler. You knew he was a special player and if you put the ball in the man hands he was going to do something special. #stillhurtstothisday
Jevon “THE FREAK” Kearse!!!
I still miss AJ as well! My top 3 favorite Titan as well!
Fellow Mississippi guy like me!
I was at the Titans vs Cardinals game where Vince Young marched down the field and threw the game winner to Britt. There has never been a greater game winning drive in Titans history.
@@skylorstewart8004 I feel you but when Vince walked off the Texans in OT that ish was epic 😂 Titanup and Go Titans
Vince young was the reason why I became a titans fan 😢😂😂😂😂
Gotta put big Casey in there
Don't forget atout Warren Moon!
Bro the fact that you didn’t mention CJ2K at all this whole pod is CRAZY to me!… we are about the same age.. born 1992.. CJ is my number 1 fav player.. 2 is AJB as well lol 3. DH 4. Keith 5. Eddie George 6. McNair 7. KB man it’s tough out here lol
1. CJ2K was a hom run hitter damn near every time he got the 🏈
2. AIR MCNAIR
3. Eddie George
4. King Henry
5. AJ Brown
Hon mention : Kevin Dyson, samari rolle, Keith Bullock, KB
By mid season Will will be in the MVP conversation yeah I said it keep the receipts Titanup and Go Titans
Super unpopular opinion prob, but my fav Titan of all time will always be split between Vince and CJ2K. Vince had ups and downs with mostly downs but was so much fun to watch and really got me into the game when I first started watching the Titans and CJ… his stats speak for himself.
It’s impossible to move on from AJ Brown. It still breaks my heart to think of what could’ve been…
Ryan stonehouse is #1 right now and all time😤
And eddie george outside his rookie year stunk in the playoffs while henry only got better late in the year. Henry also was the focal point and never average less than 4.2 yards which I better than George's best average. Henry has had double digit touchdowns a million times. He threw touchdowns. Was extremely explosive and average like 140 plus yards a game in the playoffs. Like let's get off the george high horse and recognize henry is an all time great. He's unbelievable. Especially I'm this day and age.
Derrick also scored over 100 TDs in a Titan's jersey (not including preseason). Barely, but still.
Nice Content. Throwing the hooks up is representing Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
You have to do a TOP Titan at each position segment.
Eddie George over King Henry, only because he forced Ray Lewis to put on weight.
The Freak!! How is he not on your top 5?
I think stomehouse should be in the top 5 when you compare him to the rest of the nfl… allso Cush could be in there as well. Great episode as always
While I agree with most of your statements regarding AJ Brown - I do feel that Chris Johnson, though not a receiver - was an equally exciting player to watch and was definitely a “superstar” during his time.
My personal favorites :
1. Derrick Henry
2. Chris Johnson
3. PAC-man Jones
4. Jurell Casey
5. Kyle Vanden Bosch
Do you not even consider Harold Landry to maybe be in our top 5? I certainly think he's better than Levis at this point. He's a great edge rusher. He just seems so underrated and overlooked considering he's produced anytime he hasn't been injured.
Titans era all-time greats: CJ2K, Steve McNair, Bruce Matthews, Samari Rolle, Blain Bishop
Honorable Mention: Keith Bullock
go titans
We have had this conversation before and like you said it is a personal opinion but mine… I would take DMase all day over AJ Brown.
Top 5 all time and I met most these guys back in ‘99 and they were first class!
1.) Bruce Mathews
2.) Steve McNair
3.) Eddie George
4.) Derrick Mason (DMase)
5.) Derrick Henry
Man i can't explain my emotions lol
My top 5 favs
1- Eddie George
2- 👑 Henry
3- Steve
4- AJ11
5 Big Jeff
Aj is like that but he wasn’t more exciting than CJ2k
Favorite 5 titans of all time
1. Eddie George
2. Jeffery Simmons
3. Kevin Mawae
4.Keith Bullock
5. Jevon Kearse
Current favorites
1. Chig
2. Dhop
3. Levis
4. Hooker
5. Mcreary
My top least favorite titan is Jake locker and my current least favorite titan is NPF because we could have done WAY better
Agree with 1-4 for the All Time list, I’d swap Byard out for Jurrell Casey. Best player on those bad Titans teams in the 2010s
CJ2K holds all time NFL records
Simmons, Dhop, Spears, Levis, and Ridley. Honorable mention is McCreary. All time favorite is George, Matthews, McNair, Wycheck, and Henry. Honorable mentions Dyson, and Mason
Personal favorites is tough.
#1 easy for me. Keith bulluck
#2 Henry
#3 byard
#4 Finnegan (I loved him)
#5 walker/lewan/mariota. I loved mariota. I felt he was never given a real shot.
I loved cj2k, love big Jeff, loved haynesworth, loved samari, loved griffin, loved kern, loved bironas, loved tannehill
I also really loved Kenny Britt man. He was the receiver I saw as our most talented ever before brown. His stride was insane
We destroyed every qbs full potential after McNair. In the name of this years election, let’s “Make Tennessee Great Agian!”😂✊🏾
Come on CJ2k
At this point of not seeing a great Harold Landry in the past 2 years i dont see how hes better than Amani Hooker. And Chris Johnson over Byard on the top 5 Titans imo.
If it’s just an all time Titans only player…it’s CJ2K hand down
If you add the oilers it’s Eddie no doubt…he was our franchise for a hot minute
Currently…of course it’s Big Jeff
Y’all sleeping on him
He’s a top 5 DL period…inside/outside does not matter
Stonehouse top five
CJ2K is also a top 10 titan at least
What about Big Al…a literal triple team every play…dude was a angry mountain…remember guorde an the stomp???
Al stomped him cuz he went for the knees. Had to cheat to stop Big Al. Dude was nearly unstoppable.
titans \../
Bruce Mathews
Aj Brown
Derrick Henry
Keith Bullock
Kevin Byard
Amy's my baby ❤🎉
Just sayin, if the Titans wanted to go back to being the Oilers, Jerseys and all, I wouldn’t complain 🤷🏻♂️
Vince Young had other opportunities with other teams…just not good enough
I'm an everydayer
Ive been a titans fan for 25 years as well. I fell in love with them and never looked back. I know its odd that mcnair and george arent higher for me etc but other than a 1/2 of an mvp mcnair wasnt a top 10 qb and george is just so overrated to me. Our defense carried those teams imo and while i do think mcnair was solid he wasnt nearly as effiecient as tannehill was. I think tannehill had a 3 year run where he played magnificent. I get the team had henry and our o line was great and aj brown but tannehill played at an elite level. Making plays with his legs and throwing super accurate deep balls. Its a shame that we get caught uo in nostalgia and cant recognize that henry is probably the greatest titan of all time with everything considered and tannehill is better than mcnair and by far the best defensive player weve ever had was 2 years of haynesworth.
There is a not a world I would select Tannehill over McNair...yeah stat wise it is similar but the era's are different where defense where much more physical and more leeway for defense than now...not that Tannehill wasn't a leader but McNair was just different as a leader. Whenever Henry was bottled or limited by the defense in the playoffs, we only got subpar performances by Tannehill...
I have no issue with Henry over George who just put better stats even when there was 8 in the box vs him.
@gusjoe1381 I can agree with that actually. I think I was just basing it off numbers and watching the throws he made was incredible. He really did have a run. And while I do like mcnair and I can agree that be did more with less help while tannehill was posting gaudy numbers I just don't believe mcnair and tanehill in their prime are that far off. It's hard to compare eras and you're probably correct in your assessment. I need to go back and watch some old games and and compare the actual game play instead of numbers. I remember mcnair being tough as nails but I don't remember him making the throws tannehill made.....nor do I remember mcnair throwing up 72 interception against the Bengals:(
@gusjoe1381 as far as henry george debate I don't even think it's close man. George fumbled like 400 times and was just fed the ball 1000 times. I just think george is put so high because he was "tough" and played football the right way blah blah when I'm reality he wasn't really that good.
Gd Shw !!! Tyler/;-)))
Mason!
Little CrIs .....2000+yrd
Keith B /;-)))
Where is Cheeto ?
So no cj2k
Eddie george averaged over 4 twice in his career at 4.1 and fumbled a million times. Why do people salivate over him and put him so high on all time lists? If he's your all time favorite that's fine but he can't be on the titans all time list when he was a below average runningback running behind a great o line.
Because he was the clear leader of that team when they spent 3 years on the road before landing in Tennessee with a even more conservative game than Vrabel's. Ask his opponents during his career how much fun it was playing against him...
@gusjoe1381 so its not a skill level thing it's the conservative play calling? However other teams did the same thing with more conservative gameplans and was able to produce higher numbers? That's a bad argument. He just wasn't that good. I'm sure it's not fun play9ng against someone that runs constantly but he didn't punish people like Henry did. He didn't have the longevity he does and certainly not the talent or skill.
@gusjoe1381 probably fun outside of his rookie year when he was averaging 3.5 yards a carry or less
@@clintspain4192 please compare to the averages at that time...we love bringing stats at times without context. my eye test on that one won't lie...he was a beast and a long list injuries prevented him to have a better extended career...
Y
Love listening to you and your commentary, but if you can’t stop saying buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, I’m gonna have to stop listening..
Don't let the door hit you
I forgot about casey...im no true fan
Man I need your number lol
