An Inside Edition investigation has found some restaurants are serving a cheaper fish than what's on the menu. A third of restaurants tested in Atlanta served up cheaper fish. We visited 22 restaurants in Tampa and Atlanta and ordered cod, grouper and catfish. Samples were sent to a lab for DNA testing. The results showed that all the Tampa restaurants served fish as it appeared on their menus, but out of the restaurants tested in Atlanta, one-third served a cheaper fish than advertised. #InsideEdition

This could also be incredibly dangerous for those with allergies, such as myself… I’m allergic to basically all fish/ shellfish except for cod. It has been the only one I haven’t had a reaction to in all the tests I’ve had and if I went to the restaurant and ordered cod but got a completely different type of fish, I could have an allergic reaction and die or get seriously hurt.. this is not alright

I had a health scare at a Golden Corral in TN once with fish. Swai is a cross of catfish and tilapia. I'm allergic to tilapia.. I had thought it was chicken fingers,until I took a bite. The management was very nice and professional about it,which my Husband and I appreciated greatly!!!! The moral of my story is:Know where your food comes from people!!!! It could mean life or death for you or a loved one!!!!

Yeah there's a huge difference between a fish costing $3 per lb and another costing $20 per lb like that restaurant is making a lot of money off of people thinking they're getting what they paid for, but in reality the restaurant barely spends any money on the fish and instead makes a lot of profit.

I tasted Swai fish for the first time when I went to a fish fry years ago .
I had never heard of it !
My friend and I were skeptical about eating it .
But guess what!
It was very good!! 😋😋😋
We started buying it and cooking it ourselves!
It's been a while since I bought Swai fish .
That's because I have gotten lazy and hardly ever cook anymore .
But I would eat it again 😋.
It may be good, but you should receive what you paid for. It is not a cheap replacement. It can also induce allergic responses.
I will say that video of the fish pond is misleading. That is the sell tank as i call it(i casually farms tilapia). The actual fish farm needs clean and wide space or they will die. That small hole is to drug the fish for transport

May not be the restaurant - could be the supplier. That is why you need a fully trained SKILLED and TALENTED kitchen manager/head chef on quality control

When your served sea bass, red snapper, grouper, turbot, dover sole, good salmon or cod, you don't forget it.
Swai is awesome if you cook it right. Tender and flaky. Not tough like snapper or oily like grouper.
This reminds me of omelette scams in my place..restaurants use fewer Eggs than the ordered numbers.😅
