Finished watching the guide I seriously think Raven is great, a lot of his frames have been improved specially in comparison to the meta cast. Raven used properly can make some seriously good plays with the frames he has. Loving the character and learning new ways to play him everyday solid content as always 🎉❤

I think it’s because his play style is different from the others. People / new players want somebody they can mash good buttons with .
Yeah I think Raven overall is just pretty intimidating for a newcomer. There's a lot to him, and he isn't as straightforward as other characters.
@feeharn5531 As a Tekken newcomer, I can safely say he sure is intimidating. Just spent hrs practicing combos, and my hands hurt...
@@GGeofreed you can keep his combos relatively simple for the most part! For ws1, ws2 and ff3 you can use the same combo. I go with (launcher), ff3, ff4, 1, ff3, 1, b2,4,2(for screw) and ender. The qcf1,2 for screw is too hard for me to do in real matches 😭

They took away my Gigas so I needed a new character to learn. Always liked Raven in principle but never felt like I could get to grips with him, but in 8 something seems to have finally clicked and I'm sure your content has a big part to play in that. Got him to reds and still on the climb, think you earned the sub my man.
Raven is extremely fun and it turns out is the character I've become the most comfortable with. Your original guide was great, so I'm looking forward to this!

Yoo that section about flowcharts was pretty spot on! Some characters like Hwo solely rely on flowcharts, but what separates a good player from a bad one is that the good one takes mental notes which charts are working and which are not working. Well said, man

I love Raven. I just started learning Tekken Raven and Arcade Stick and It's a hell of a journey it hasn't been easy but it makes it all worth it. I have no plans to play anybody else anytime soon. I want to master Raven.

Hello, Raven main here (or trying to be). Been learning quite a bit about how to understand Raven through your videos. Playing Raven as opposed to "playing Tekken but with Raven" is pretty gut wrenching atm, but I still enjoy learning him. So thanks for the vids.
That said; and I'm sure this is no surprise to you now, but I can't seem to wavedash quickly or consistently _at all._ I'm literally doing the motions you're doing on the d-pad and I keep standing up. I can only bother to do one wavedash inbetween pressure or if I'm mid-range. However...I did discover that you can immediately follow-up a crouch dash with a wavedash and still be in a "crouching" state. And I made it easier for me by doing a simple dash > crouch dash > wave dash to cover some distance. Haven't practiced this in real combat yet, seems a bit flowchart-y, but honestly, still better than sucking at wavedashing. lol
as long as you can crouch dash into *crouch step*, that's fine

I'm having the time of my life with the new Raven. It's like his strings and mixups are way harder for the opponent to counter. As playing as Master Raven I didn't really have the freedom to blitz up close and I had to use a more defensive play style. With this Raven I can use a lot more offense and do it more comfortably. Soul zone 1+2 isn't a real frame trap, but it kinda works like one. If they block it and mash afterwards I'll land a solid 4,1or counter hit d/f3 I'll sometimes connect with a fast 1'2. I love Soul Zone so much more than haze it's crazy lol.

Just reached orange ranks with maining raven as a SF guy and im having a blast learning and playing him. I have a file open where i type notes, combos and stuff i want to remember on my journey with him and i feel there is so much potential and uniqueness to this guy. the ceiling seems endless. i would like to know more about how to handle pressure better but i guess a lot of it has to do with better movement which im still kind of lacking. anyway loving the journey, with your content as well. kinda amazed so few ppl play this guy. hes fun af! cheers!

@imortalXsoul bro I want you to know that your Raven is sick and even though I’ve been playing seriously since 2018 season 1 of Tekken you’ve taught me some dope things with Raven. Master Raven who I didn’t really play, I was an Eddy main. I did play Raven back when in TK5 but I didn’t really know to many ppl who played so I didn’t take the game seriously until TK7 so getting back into the swing of things, you’ve shown me some very cool and effective things with Raven and I’m happy he’s back! Keep posting teachings with him and I’ll follow my man. Let’s get some training in, I play Victor as well, once Eddy comes back, it’ll be Victor, Raven, Eddy! A little touch of Azucena here and there.

Is there a particular use for bt ff3 or a circumstance where it could be most useful?
Btw, I've had cases where after catching the opponent tech rolling a bunch of times they would try to stand up normally and I'd catch them with bt 4 that hits really low into the ground and moves you forward so you can loop that oki
It's just a power mid to mix up with bt f4 or bt ff3+4
I randomly watched this looking for tips now I can correctly and easily wave dash w Raven. I didnt realize its more so a timing thing like VF5 crouch dashing and not like mishima stuff 😓

You can also do setups like db2 db ws1 wiff punish to protect your bt stance

I've been playing him since T6, liked Master Raven in T7, but I do miss some moves in T8 like death from above unblockable, blind ghost, the tackle, the pendulum kick to white hole, and the rest of the mixups from skull rave. Though the buff to his frames overall might make up for all of that.
Also, is there any real use for BT F+1? Seems like it's always been useless.
This might just be greed, or me being scrubby, but soulzone being standing seems like a loss of an evasive move compared to haze, and backflip being forced into soulzone feels kind of stiff.
Also, I cant figure out how exactly you're getting shadow step to come out that fast on pad.

Yes, it is I think 1,2 is +7 on hit and df3 is i16 so frame traps
