  • How to choose between Upright Walker and Rollator Walker?
Which is the best walker for you?
Check this video to get inspired! Also, you can get more ideas below:
Mobility aids have become incredibly popular, especially among elderly individuals with mobility issues. Two of the most popular mobility aids are the upright walker and rollator. While both the upright walker and rollator serve the same purpose, they differ in design, function, and features.
The upright walker is a relatively new mobility aid that is designed to be an alternative to the traditional rollator. It is a lightweight and compact walker that can be easily maneuvered indoors and out. The upright walker design encourages users to maintain an upright posture while walking, which can be beneficial for individuals who suffer from back problems.
On the other hand, the rollator is a three- or four-wheeled mobility aid that provides more features than the upright walker. Rollators typically come with a larger frame and wheels, padded seat, storage basket, and handbrakes. The rollator is designed for people who need more support than a cane or walker can provide.
If you are trying to decide which mobility aid is right for you, there are a few factors to consider. If you have good balance and only need a little support while walking, an upright walker might be the best choice for you. However, if you need more support and want the convenience of a built-in seat and storage basket, then a rollator may be the better choice.
Ultimately, the decision between an upright walker and a rollator comes down to your specific needs and preferences. We recommend trying both types of mobility aids before making your decision. At OASIS Space, we offer a wide range of mobility aids, including both upright walkers and rollators. Explore our selection today to find the perfect mobility aid for you or your loved one.

I got an upright walker and it has been life changing for me. I have lumbar spinal stenosis and can only stand or walk for a short time, even with a cane. Because the upright walker takes the weight of my upper body off my lower back, I can take longish walks, visit museums and stand to chat at parties without pain.

I'm not sure why she didn't mention this, but you can get both upright and regular rollators with weight capacities as high as 600-lbs.

I have bad lower back pain and most times after using my rollator walker I'm in agony. I think its from how I have to use it. Would getting an upright help prevent this? Thanks

Hi Debbie, thanks for your trust. Yes, I think the upright walker can help. An upright walker will let you stand more straight. Bending over to use the rollator walker may be bad for your back. Also, putting elbows on the handle of an upright walker will be more energy-saving.
