I’ve been to Cambodia many times but never encounter any issues, they were very nice and helpful like some other countries. People are down to earth, will return in December. Thanks for sharing ur good experiences with Cambodia.
Great that they were polite to you..but I had bad experience at Cambodia.. When i reached Phnom Penh airport.. It was smooth.. They just asked me showmoney.. about 300$..and asked me my purpose of visit, duration of visit, hotel booking and return ticket.. But it was not the case when i crossed border from cambodia to laos.. In the cambodian side, all the officers were corrupt and they shamelessly asked for extra money while exiting .. They searched my bag and even tried to take something useful for them from my bag.. I haven't quarrelled with them, but instead talked to them politely. So they haven't harassed me much..and when i came back from laos to cambodia through the same land border, the experience was so terrible.. They actually harassed and insulted me. The one at the visa service was so rude and agressive. They all are prejudiced against Indians and on seeing an indian passport, they will do their level best to cheat us.. They looted my money from my purse.. Took it forcibly and kept me waiting for an hour. There were many Europeans and koreans at the border even without any showmoney or even without money for on arrival visa ..but no questions to them.. They even arranged options for them to take money from nearby Atm.. But to me, they asked 1500$ as show money.. They also demanded 300 $ as bribe.. I fighted with them and tried my best to convince them.. After long quarell, they let me in but forcefully took money from my bag.. Such corrupted officers and visa service people are sitting there.. Again during my return journey to India,at Siem reap airport, another immigration officer shamelessly asked me money for coffee.. Firstly he asked me "Do you have anything for me?".. I denied and then he asked me "do you have money for coffee ".. I strongly denied and he let me go.. Such corrupt officers are there at cambodia.. I believe they are this much rude to solo travelers from India.. This may not be the case with couple or other group travelers..and it depends on the officers sitting there as in your case.. But irrespective of all these experiences, i enjoyed my days at cambodia.. It's a nice place.. And recently, during June 2024..i saw the video of another youtuber from India who faced the same issue at the border..
I want to agree with this comment. Why on earth do i have to show immigration a $1000 for a 2 week holiday. I have a return ticket? This is the only county i know that you have to show money. Is this something that happens often?. I am leaving for Cambodia in 3 weeks time

No that's not acceptable, hotel booking is mandatory when asked in immigration but if ur luck is good they might not even ask but better to be safe than sorry

Travelled to Vietnam -Cambodia-Thai The Cambodia experience was worst.. Not recommended for solo (especially for indians) And don't use bus route.. Better to use flights only for Cambodia.. Thailand is very much safe for Indian tourist . Vietnam is okay . Don't waste ur money on Cambodia visa (expensive than any South East Asian countries) Don't waste ur time on Cambodia if ur expecting beautiful geography! Instead, use your time and money for other beautiful places beaches of Thailand Malaysia.. Usually we see many foreigners explaining their travel experience in Cambodia and those dumbasses get exited by seeing dull geography also. I'm not insulting the people of Cambodia but the foreigners has good support in Cambodia by officials but Indians r not treated well... If Indians stop visiting Cambodia for some time then the Cambodia govt will understand the importance of Indians!

But I don't recommend Cambodia by land border.. they didn't even ask how much $cash i have.. at border checkpoint building the bus service guy took photo of me which I find fishy.. because your picture will be clicked at only immigration officer counter.. I left Cambodia (Phnom Penh) very next day.. and they irritate Indian tourist especially if u are solo! There is nothing in Cambodia! Except angkorwat(didn't visit) and visa fee nearly 3000 which is waste.. If ur planning for South East Asia countries I recommend u to visit Vietnam+Laos+Thailand+Malaysia+Singapore.. If ur still interested in Cambodia then visit along with ur friends.

Flight: u need to have exit flight (return flight to India from any final country).. also while leaving from India they may ask u to show return ticket.. may or may not.. No, u can take both e visas from india and then go to cambodia and then enter vietnam, no issues, everyone does the same

always carry print outs whether its evisa or any bookings and no need to show any money proof for cambodian visa
