Hi thank you for all your work!! I have the c2 playing on pc... I'm alway wondering about video range. Wich I have to choose either on nvidia control panel or on tv... Limited or full??
@@martindescoteaux9288 Choose full in output dynamic range if using RGB, in nvidia cp, under 'change resolution'.

Interesting! On PS5 there's a 0.02 raised black level which can be fixed by adjusting the brightness, I'm working on a video for that though, thanks for sharing the Xbox version results.

Hey man, great job with your videos!!! I'm hoping you test HDR on Cyberpunk 2077 with the new 2.0 patch along with the phantom liberty expansion to see if there are any changes.
I've settle on a go to for this game. LGCX. I have DTM on, ps5 hdr-12clicks up instead of the usual 14 on each and black all the way down. Set brigtness on TV to 48, all defaults in game. Looks great, only down side is the DTM makes the shadow areas look too globally illuminated. Any solution for this? The down side is a bummer, but looks way better then playing w. a way too dark HGIG picture and no pop. I need a TV upgrade lol
Is there any chance you'll take another look at Cyberpunk 2077 with the new 2.0 update coming tomorrow? I remember it was extremely disappointing HDR at launch, with raised black levels. A ton of people including myself will be jumping in tomorrow for the first time, and they may have fixed it.
would you have any idea as to why the HDR option is greyed out for me, my TV supports 4k and Dolby Vision HDR but the option is greyed out in game
Btw, for SDR games and movies (on pc), do you use gamma 2.2 or 1886 with lg oled ?
I play with DTM on lg c1 on pc and that blue butterfly burned my eyes. so bright, nice.
Picture is not too dark. I play at night and it looks amazing
I am on my C9 and I don’t see black crush. Maybe because you use HGIG. In DTM I had to take down brightness one notch but default settings are probably correct.
Lies of P just got an big update, patch 1.2.
In the patch notes there is no mentioning about HDR, graphical or performance updates, but maybe it could be worth a revisit if you have time?
I’m especially curious about the VRR flickering issues, have they been adressed?
Are you talking about the resolution mode with high frame rate mode on? Or just VRR in general? I'm playing with VRR on with performance mode on and there is zero flickering.
Looking forward to play this on PC Win 10 with HDR on my LG CX.

Please tell me why the screen flickers at 120hz, VRR is on, but at 60hz VRR is on normally, why does this happen? Maybe this is due to bad TV?

I'd also like to say that, at least on xsx with my lg c1, you HAVE to turn off vrr on this game. Otherwise you get the constant black flicker you can sometimes get in certain game menus.
Hey, I noticed your new videos are shown on LG oleds. Did you get rid of your S95c? And if so why?
No I still have the S95C. My G2 is my PC Screen and that's where I am doing all my initial testing. When HDR looks good on the G2 it s also good on the S95C ;-)
Yeah brightness slider didn't work well in the demo either. I made a post about it on the forums but I guess they couldn't get around to it.
In this case I reccomend adjusting brightness on your display like on Samsung the St. 2084 setting can help
Question regarding ”DTM ON”, that have been bugging me a longer time:
As you say, ”DTM ON” increases the overall picture brightness in dark scenes, but does it cause black level raise as well?
I mean in this game for example, even one click on the brightness slider already affects black levels, so you would think that ”DTM ON” does the same thing. Or does it not?

@@igordelija9185OK, thanks for letting me know. That is a big plus for DTM, if you don’t have to worry about the black levels even though you get a brighter picture. Personally I still prefer HGIG in basically all games.
This has been a tough choice for me when it comes to Hdr tone mapping vs HGiG on my C1. Like RE4 I like hgig but in armored core i like hdr tone mapping. For this game, i feel like the contrast in hdr is more striking in hgig and really makes the game pop out at me, but its to dark in some areas, and when i swtich to hdr tonemapping, i lose some of the contrast and it feels like its a little to bright in areas that should be dark but i do get to see more detail. I gotta mess with the brightness setting when i get home. Maybe hgig with one extra pip of brightness .
I also have a C1 and I use DTM and in the game optimizer menu I turn black stabilizer down to 9 or 8. Give it a try

When i use DTM on my c1 i got elevated blacks, especially when using the bonefire, it goes to a grey screen, that i think it was suposed to be black. Does it happens to you too?
@@sheykromtube you need to calibrate it better. Try setting the black level to -4 in the game optimizer. I use DTM ON in Filmmaker mode on my G3 with game optimizer on and -4 black level and it's better than HGIG and Gamemode because you get the new color boosting algorithm that you don't get in game mode for whatever reason. And most games don't support HGIG so I have no idea why it's even being recommended still.
The game flickers with vrr enabled though. Yeah it is a bit dark with hgig. I use tone mapping.
It doesn't flicker for me at 60 hz with vrr. It's only 120 hz with vrr

For me, Hdr on ps5 does not look as good as sdr for some odd reason!? Tried a lot of settings & I have a flagship tv. Sdr looks really good though so hopefully hdr will be fixed in an updated!?.
at home also on my oled c9 correctly adjusted (hgig....) on ps5 in hdr mode apart from the lighting which is pretty the blacks are gray in sdr the blacks become black but the lighting is much less pretty normal in sdr

I don't have any settings to choose from DTM and HGIG, in Lies on LG CX. What could have happened? I have HDR10 turned on, I have turned it on many times, now I have no choice, not at all. Can you tell me something? Can you help?, PS5 no problem. SX i don't have this options in any game. I don' t know what to do.

@@igordelija9185 That's right. I have game mode turned on. I turned off Dolby Vision, turned it on, I don't know what's happening, I have no choice in any game. It's normal on PS5..

Turn hdr off in game and keep default brightness,.xbox ll still output hdr signal for some reason,better colours and highlights.Its much better

I cannot play the game on an LG C2 because of the flickering when the VRR is active. If i turn the VRR of then the flickering goes away...but i am not gonna play a game if i have to disable the VRR.
I have read about the VRR flickering also on reddit, it seams that allot of people have the exact same problem.
What is your take on this? is there a way to fix this or we have to wait for a fix?

Using Gigabyte M32CU, 120hz, VRR and I have no flickering.
@@zabtcent It's not OLED. Flickering happens because of almost instant response time of OLED pixels.

Hello how are not more people complaining about this games HDR? Im on PC with C2 and the HDR is super greyed out in this game. I had to use Special K and disable the in game HDR to get a good picture. Anyone know why its so washed out and does everyone have this problem?
HDR on the PC Version is fine as shown in my video. The DEMO version was bad but the final version is really good. Is it just happening with this game?
@@GamingTech-CZcams Yeah only this game and i have the full version on Steam. I read from a few people that have this same problem. SDR actually looks better than the in game HDR. Weird.

Xbox series s, lg g2 here. Hdr looks awful. Turining it off immediately fixes the problem, grey washed out picture as soon as i turn it on. I don't understand why you recommend this. It is even visible in your video for a brief moment you swirch it off and the background picture goes back to being contrasty
That's not the case here. SDR shows a darker picture but less details in shadows and bright objects. Picture is not washed out at all as shown in my video. I just checked again and its fine. Not sure what's going on. 😕

HDR is still broken for me, gamepass version. Brightness of the screen dims a lot and colors/blacks are grey and washed out. Using a TCL Q7, no issues with other HDR content.
same here, tested it on an OLED CX, and on the AOC 1000 nits monitor. On the default setting, it just looks washed out. No issues with any other game.
Anyone got problem with vrr on XSX ? I got image flickering. Only option is to disable vrr ?
Yeah turn it off. It's not an issue if you have an LG TV as just have TV set to to 120hz in the xbox settings, then in game settings set it to quality mode with the high framerate setting on. It will run at really well framepaced 40fps at 1440p upscaled to 4k. Feels very smooth compared to the other console 40fps implementations I have seen (ratchet and Clank, god of war ragnarok etc).

@@maciekprokop3780 nah, coming from 30fps on Starfield and Final Fantasy 16 this is wayyy smoother :) Starting area/Act felt a little bit framey but by act 3 it was all gone. Just make sure Vrr isn't on as well and your TV is still in game mode (and low latency is on, even though it shouldn't activate). My perfect Parry timing succes rate is pretty high, if it was poorly paced (or 30) would be a lot lower.

As always thanks for your work on hdr man. I turned off hdr (in-game level) but the series x still outputs hdr so I'm able to choose dtm on. I tried hdr on but it looked washed out on my end, but this setting seems good as a work around. I pre installed from game pass so I'm not sure if it's been patched
same on my C2. Very washed out with HDR on in game. When i turn it off my tv is still in HDR but the color in game are so much better and inkier with perfect black

I found the HDR on this game a bit broken on Xbox. It dims the brightness too much and shows a lot of black crush, and I found it better turned off. It also has an issue with VRR flicker, the first I've actually noticed in a game but that's a separate issue. On my LG C1, using RPG in game optimiser was simply too dark to see any shadow detail at all in HDR mode, but when I turned it off it was fine.

Hdr "on" is actually turning off hdr. Hdr "on" isn't hdr. I know what hdr looks like.

@@shreder75 interesting. So you're saying they completely inverted the HDR by accident? I've never seen that in any other game to the best of my recollection. Unless they calibrated it for certain TVs but even then it looks too dark imo.
@cun7us that's my deduction. The blacks are deeper and the brights pop way more with hdr set to "off" in the game menu.
@cun7us also, on my c1, i use standard, not rpg, in the game optimizer. I also have the black stabilization set to 13. I can't remember where i got that idea or when i changed it lol But hdr can still be a little dark if you're not playing in a low light environment (which is where is really shines).
Anyway, try setting it to hdr off in the game. You may have to adjust the brightness slider in the game.
I LOVE hdr gamea. I HATE to have to change tv settings to get it right, though, so this is my set it and forget it setup.
@@shreder75 awesome, thanks for the tip. I tend to use RPG mode for these types of games as it makes the colours pop a bit more and enhance the contrast, with some minor hit to brightness. Standard is still fine though.
It's kind of ironic how this studio is from South Korea, the place where most high-tech HDR displays are from lol
It's supposed to be dark, default settings looks like daylight and if you look around the lights are on, it's supposed to have an ambient glow not this washed out standard look, turn down the brightness for the correct look.
I can't play anything anymore in HGIG. The picture is wayyyy too dark, doesn't pop at all. (LGCX owner) I didn't pay $2500 (at the time) to see a dark, bland picture. Maybe its time for an upgrade since I'm stuck in the 800nits era. All the ABL on top doesn't help either. Always had buyers remorse with the cx
800 nits is still a very good Hdr experience especially on an oled
@HaloinfiniteEternal i agree its not bad but not bright enough when u compare w the likes of the new tech. Esp with the aggressive abl when gaming. If I was a $$$ guy a this yrs Sony qdoled would have already been preordered lol
@@westibbs I went from the B8 to the CX and still have buyers remorse. The improvement was too incremental, the biggest thing though was VRR, 120hz and hdmi 2.1 How was the leap from the CX to a qdoled like the S90C?
@@westibbs I dont have the $$$ to upgrrade at this time, but will eventually. This CX is just too dark, esp for vid games and in HGIG, its disgusting for a $2500 TV at the time. And thats not talking about the ABL that kicks in as well. I want to play in HGIG, I know its more accurate, DTM is over bright, but DTM is better cause HGIG makes the games look so dark, blend, w. zero punch. LG seemed to phone it in with the improvements From C9 to C2, very little to get excited about. But then from what I've heard, they finally upped their game with the G3
@@westibbs I totally get it. I was just saying that it took LG from the B8 all the way to the G3 to really start flexing their muscle again and make their TV's worth the upgrade. But I'm all in on the Qdoled tech, trust me. its a matter of finances for me. I honestly want Sony's flagship Qdoled though. I'm not a $$$ guy though, both offerings from Sony and Samsung are pricey.
Looks great, runs great. But, damn, the combat just reminds you of how insanely great From are. Going to put it on the back burner and see if they can tighten it up a bit. A lot.

Something is wrong because you are praising HDR in this game but yet on my LG C2, HDR is absolute trash with greyed washed image. Are you sure you tested the game with HDR on in game? Cause when i turn off HDR in game, my lg is still outputing HDR but the color are like miles better.

@@hELLLcsAgree! HDR looks awful on my LG CX. The blacks are literally grey. Colours are washed out. Currently testing with HDR off which seems to look a lot better.

My hot take is that maybe we don't need perfect blacks in situation like this one, as the area you tested has enough ambient lighting where a "0 nit" black shouldn't realistically appear.
I would certainly raise that brightness slider to make the game playable and easier on my eyes. I hate black crush much more than black raise.

honestly my man you should make this hdr review also on ps5 and also on a samsung tv....If you still are doing this and want to get some money from this you have to get to the next level.....No more excuses just to deliver best Hdr and complete reviews out there.
