it took me by surprise how I was brought to tears watching an old episode of Family Feud. All these game show hosts took me back to my childhood.

How many people (watching this in 2021) are shocked and amazed by how many of these questions and the answers to them would be just as applicable today as they were in 1983?
Watching this now, I can still recognize some of them when I used to watch a lot game shows .

I used to be a panelist for Family Feud. I was one of the "we surveyed the top 100 people" I was one of them! It was done with joy and there was no pay back then. It came by paper sheets and you mailed it back in. :)

Steve Harvey still wears the crown. That’s why HE still IS the host for all of these years. He’s funny AF, talented, likable by all, and doesn’t kiss all of the females in the mouth 🤢😷
I love seeing these classic hosts come together to play this game! Game Show Network fueled my love for classic game shows, and for that, I am grateful.

@@blind_t2 Nipsey also hosted 2 or 3 pilots for an unsold game show called "Star Words". 2 of the pilots are on CZcams. Nipsey also had many appearances alongside Richard Dawson on Match Game.
Nipsey was also a regular on the Bob Eubanks-hosted "Rhyme and Reason" in the 1970s.

Yes He was my favorite too. I had a kid crush on Jim Perry back then. I thought he was soo dreamy haha. I use to watch his game shows Sale of the Century and Concentration just to see him while I played with my barbie dolls during the summer. The 80s were Great times.
This was THE Best Week of Family Feud EVER, especially from the Richard Dawson Era

Betty White who is now 98 & Peter Marshall who is now 94 have outlived Jim Lange, Jim Perry, Tom Kennedy, Richard Dawson and Dick Clark who hosted American Bandstand in the same studio where Family Feud started in the ABC Television Center in HOLLYWOOD and they've also outlived Bruce Forsyth who hosted Hot Streak also Videotaped at ABC Television Center in HOLLYWOOD
Betty White has also outlived Gene Wood
Betty White has also outlived the cast of Golden Girls.

TV has never been the same after these people and their shows are gone from the landscape... Fortunately, the Family Feud theme has survived the test of time... I love that theme being a fan of movie & TV soundtracks...

I met him when I was like 6. I was in the audience for Family Feud and won a door prize that he presented to me. He asked me where I was from. I said "California" and that got a good laugh from Gene and the crowd. Very nice man.
Gene Wood helped me get into television by telling me about Emerson College. My dearest friend and mentor whom I forever cherish.

Yes, he did so in his very brief run on Chain Reaction, and also on Child's Play to walk a very short distance to his podium. Otherwise, he wasn't shown on camera walking, which was evident when he was a contestant on Password Plus/Super Password, Match Game/Hollywood squares hour, or any of the pyramids (Including his hosted $25,000 version, and the Dick Clark version which was his final TV appearance).
On this episode, did Bill stumble into the buzzer?

As of November 2020, only Peter Marshall (94), Leslie Uggams (77), Betty White (98), and Bob Eubanks (82) are still with us.

BS Deanna Sisson stop being so quick to judge and assume I've seen all of Richard Dawson's family feud episodes or close to it watched most of them with my grandparents and mom growing up as a young kid he's funny as hell but Steve Harvey is way funnier he literally has no filter and im 29 years old 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Leslie Uggams is quite a talented actress. She is in her late 70's now. In 2016, she was in the movie Deadpool.

The group of Game Show Hosts and M.C.s: as of July 2024, I think Leslie Uggams is the only one still alive, and still working. Although several of them lived to be quite old.
Bob Eubanks is still alive.

Yikes, that's depressing! Peter is ancient and still with us along with Betty and Eubanks. All of those people were basically my whole childhood! Three good ones they were missing here were WInk, Gene Rayburn and Monty Hall!

Back in the day when they had all the good, wholesome questions!! Now its, either sex, pick a number, or what rhymes with what.
All good, wholesome questions? With answers like "Make Love" (11:10), "Good Lover?" (27:45) "[Nervous Learning] "Sex" (54:30), and "Has Affair?" (1:32:57)? And those are just references to sex (and using euphemisms for sex doesn't change the fact that it's about sex -- even though they STILL USED THE WORD). There were also references to drug and alcohol use throughout the show this week (and regularly throughout the show's history). And let's NOT get into how a host kisses women he's not involved with on the lips...
This was before the good wholesome questions.
There were always sex-related questions. You probably just don't like the new Family Feud...
Only Bob and Leslie are still with us. We just lost Peter at 98.

This is the FIRST time I've ever seen this. A game show with hosts from OTHER game show as contestants. ALSO, this is strictly my OPINION, not a SURVEY, but I believe Richard was THE BEST Family Feud host ever. I remember the sad farewell he gave on his last appearance.
Richard was so tacky! I wish he could have gotten the kisses he so desperately needed, elsewhere! MMB

According to Adam's book for Gene Rayburn, the latter was invited to play, as a sort of "no personal feelngs" towars him for quitting Match Game on a sour note, but Gene declined.
I kind of thought that's what happened, because Gene surely would have been there if Richard wasn't the host. I read that things got quite bad, on the set of Match Game. I don't know why Richard became so bitter, but it was hard to watch him and not want to slap him up side the head, for acting like a petulant child.
I was wondering why Gene wasnt here. Didnt realize he and richard didnt get along
I know that a lot of people love Richard but I don't think he could hold a candle to Gene. Richard thought far more of himself than he actually really encompassed. While on match game, he was a wonderful compliment to Gene and the show but he began to think he could do a much better job than gene and in doing so, he hurt the match game and gene. I didn't really like him on the feud. He seemed to change entirely after taking on that show. And I don't blame gene for refusing to appear on family feud with him.
Watching the match game episodes now ,knowing what I know now...Gene Rayburn had lots of class,and Richard was a smuck.if you watch Hogan's Heroes,you can see how he thought he was all that on that show as well.

Gene hated Richard for quitting Match Game on a sour note, Alan was dead by then, and Bob was very busy with Price is Right.
My guess is because their own shows, Price and Feud on different networks, CBS and ABC.
Allen Ludden died in 1981, two years prior to this week of shows.
