Not anymore to my knowledge. The strap of this Casio broke and he couldn't find a replacement. He then found a Swatch that looks almost similar and is wearing that now.

I like Prince William's choice not only for it's sentimental value to him, but also it's practicality, as an RAF search and rescue pilot a Seamaster is a suitable watch choice. Price Harry also goes for a practical watch with a Rolex Explorer II.

That watch makes sense: A.Lange is produced in East-Germany (Glashütte). Putin made his career in Dresden, not far from that town.
That is not the only watch putin owns...infact it is said that he has one of the most extensive watch collection in the world hes also seem most often sporting a blacpain

Much appreciated the Pocket time piece. It may never become popular again , I still rock my silver and gold Hunter style pocket watches. They look nice with a dull Chain in jeans and very sharp with a polished link on a vest . I like wrist watches as well . I find something familiar with my pocket watches I just don’t feel with a wrist watch. Can’t describe it any better than that . I’m not retired or ( that old ) at 41 , I just have always felt comfortable wearing a pocket watch with a chain sense I can remember.

I'm a fan of Prince William's choice (Omega Seamaster Professional). Granted, I'm a little biased since I have the full-size Bond watch and have been in love with it for years!
I am looking at mine now. The 41 like yours ( and Mr Bond ) Bought new in 2001 and still immaculate.

I love your excellent series of videos. The amount of research you have put in is clearly something that sets your channel apart from many others.
You solicited suggestions for further videos and I have one. Why not make a series on brands that have perished and then have been resurrected or have simply perished? Some brands I can think of are Kelek, Favre-Leuba, Cyma, Schwarz-Etienne, Cortébert, Ball Watch and many others. Just a suggestion ...

Great video!!! I did not expect this video(out the ones I've seen of yours) to be my favorite. I also did not expect to have Putin's watch be my favorite.. That A.Lange & Sohne is maybe the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. I was also plessanly surprised by find out that for 5+ years I wore the same $10 Casio as Pope Francis. I've even got some really meaningful compliments on that Casio.
Prince Will's is my fave.Not impressed by rich folk having expensive watches, far more impressed with the Pope's humility & humble Casio. Cheers 👍👍

So I heard this story and modified it into a bed time story for my son. So the thai deputy prime minister started out like me with a fascination and appreciation for horologicaly significant time pieces. But as his collection grew he turned to a bad guy siphoning money from the Thai government to build his watch collection. Then he finally turned to the dark side and now he is making himself into a super villain by wearing all these high end titanium, rhodium and rose gold automatic watches. The deal is by wrapping his arms in these precious metals makes his arms super strong and indestructible. He can then plot to take over the world by throwing tanks and cars his arms are bulletproof. Then Iorn man or a super hero of your choosing can stop him and restore order to south east Asia.

Interesting video, thanks. I like the Casio a lot, and have had two. If they would use standard strap lugs I'd have another, but as it stands that's the weak link. It just does the job. Other than that, if you're offering the Omega would be nice but the rest don't do much for me.

I'm also an avid collector. I tend to have my timepieces be very discreet. The exception is a Rolex 18K & Stainless DateJust w/ a black dial w/ applied 18K ballotin hour markers. It also has an 18K bezel. The rest of my watches are less recognizable. Vacheron Ultrathin 18K w/ integrated case & bracelet manual wind that is a mere 6.5mm thick. My Patek was made in 1947. I purchased the watch & removed the original strap due to the fact that there may be a problem selling the watch due the strap may be made from an endangered animal. I've had my friends tell me that it is a sin for me to put anything but a Patek part on the watch. I have a black suede strap for this watch. I'm not a fan of chunky watches yet, I have a Cartier Pascha (SS) , Baume Mercier Capeland Chrono (SS) . I find that the Pascha & Capeland are more functional watches are more functional for their dive capability. (Both cert for 100M).
Buddhist monks are expected to wear watches in modern times as they are regarded as necessary. We have a Buddhist center near my home where all the monks wear the inexpensive and practical Casio Royale. Even in pre wrist watch era, pocket watches were both practical and a status symbol. The Dalai Lama is a lover of neat things. So, that Patek Philippe really suits him. Very expensive but a real appreciation of watchmaking craftsmanship.
His love of mechanical watches began very early: At the age of 6 or 7, the Dalai Lama received his first watch, from none other than the U.S. American President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Rumours and assumptions grew around the watch itself and its reference, as the Dalai Lama’s headquarters in Dharamsala always rejected journalistic questions. It was known for a long time that it was a Patek Philippe pocket watch - but then in 2016, pictures appeared on the internet for the first time. They were posted on US Senator Patrick Leahy’s Facebook page, who is known by cameo appearances in some Batman films (including Batman & Robin, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Dark Knight Rises). They show the watch presented by the Senator to Dalai Lama. Eric Wind identified the watch 2016 in a Hodinkee article as a pocket watch with Ref. 658, of which only 15 were made between 1937 and 1950, a truly special gift! But the watch is probably just as special as its story, which Thomas Laird tells in his book Tibet - The History of a Country: The Dalai Lama in Conversation with Thomas Laird. Roosevelt did not hand over the gift personally. Two agents of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the predecessor of today’s CIA, offered the watch along with a letter from the president. Brooke Dolan and his colleague Ilay Tolstoy, who was allegedly the grandson of the famous author Leo Tolstoy, strictly followed the protocol: visitors silently handed over their presents and received a so-called ‚katha‘, a prayer shawl traditionally handed over. The two had a mission to find out more about the possibility of building a road from India to China, which was strategically important to the United States for supplying China during the war with Japan.

i got a Subby, and a seamaster chrono when Im teaching SCUBA ( seriously, MY Subby actually goes underwater! ) a navitimer world for the hell of it and when I fly even though there's no way to use the slide-rule when actually flying an airplane! a titanium chrono avenger when im smoking things on the traeger - i like having the stop watch AND the bezel. WILL NOT TAKE THIS WATCH DIVING! rated to 1000' i wouldn't shower with this 'ling! a speedmaster moon watch i wear every july 20th and a mark ii because it's just cool! im mostly as non famous as it gets... woo hoo! oh! i got a cool tissot touch that needs to go in for a battery change, too.....
