thing about the whistle, not trying to be a nerd or anything lol, but they were actually fit with airhorns and no whistle, due to the fog levels in the north, the air horn could easily cut through the fog more then a steam whistle
Yeah, I did knew they were fitted with air horns. I wanted to find them on the sound decoder it had, but I kinda doubt I’d even find an air horn in it. It’s possible, but I didn’t try cause the decoder wasn’t that responsive to my DCC controller I’m using. So I took it and the speaker out and set it in a plastic bag it came with.
Reminds me of how a few months ago i found one of my "white whale" models if you will, a rapido trains royal hudson brand new at a train show for around half their going price, it isnt dcc fitted (yet) but when i do i plan on giving it all the sounds the dcc factory fitted ones have
@@skylitejunction5589 it would be interesting to see it race Hudson lol Since the Hudsons were known to hit 120mph and the Hiawathas were infamous for their speeds
@@highoctanegames Eh, racing’s not really my thing when it comes to model trains. I’d rather not take the risk in something bad happening with them. Especially with how fragile and expensive they are. 😖😖
Hi! I have one of these I just dug out of storage, I need to access the motor for maintenance but i lost my diagram and can’t figure out how to get the shell off. Have you taken apart yours or know how to do so?
I have update on the decoder. It’s a TCSWow sound decoder. But after two days of having the locomotive, I removed the chip and replaced it with a blanking one. The decoder doesn’t respond a hundred percent well, and now the engine runs on analog. Still can’t be happier to have the thing though.
You’re not wrong about the sounds lol. The A Class Hiawatha’s never had whistles, they had air horns. Look up K&L Trainz’s Hiawatha and you’ll see what it really sounds like
I figured they didn’t have a whistle in a way. I saw K&L trains video so many times, and I hear that air horn. I heard the whistle, and I was like “What about the air horn?” 🤣
Might be a tad bit jealous man😂
🤣
What would you call this one though? Lol
Absolutely amazing, great to know that you have a layout again, keep up the excellent work. And make sure them guitar skills are sharp.
Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I have both set in HO SCALE and N SCALE, both with original box, I truly think to be the only Italian to have them 😂
That’s insane man. You’ll never know if you’re the only one or not but still awesome to have the model. Especially in both scales. 😂
@@skylitejunction5589 it’s amazing isn’t it? 💪😅

Nice
Great model
Thanks man.
I know you probably dont remember me but back in 2020, i specifically remembered thinking you should have gotten one of these
Now you do lol
Oh hi. I do remember you actually. Lol. Yeah, I finally do and it’s my prized possession along with the EM-1.

@@highoctanegames maybe. I love stop motion. We’ll have to see. :)

I haven’t opened mine yet, but I’ll let you know if I see anything.
If you have access to JMRI you might be able to find out the decoder it. You can take the tender shell off and also see too.
Sounds good.
