The 2026 FIA Formula one car has been shown! One of the bigger changes is the new DRS/MOM system! MOM stands for Manuel Override Mode and is the successor of DRS (drag reduction system). This system is created to make overtaking even easier!
The Drag Reduction System - which has been a feature of grand prix racing since 2011 - will be no more from the end of next season. Instead it will be replaced by F1’s new ‘Manual Override Mode’. But what is it? And how does it work? I will showcase it to you in this video!

My main confusion is why on earth is the w11 is reaching a mere 310kmh? Whats this, Monaco spec? Why all the drag, no wonder the 2026 walks it on the straights

DRS is only available on some mods, in this one looks like he never opens it, maybe because he can't...

it reaches 320-325 but its probably a higher downforce wing

The top speed of the W11 is a bit ridiculous, isn't it? 315 km/h? C'mon! The Porsche 919 Evo reached a top speed of 369 km/h on the Nürburgring!

And you do the test on the Nordschleife, a track as wide as just two cars not designed for modern F1 or or overtaking what so ever. Makes sense!

F1 26 out here looking like a baby of a F2 mom and an IndyCar Daddy. Car is fast but forgot it's aerodynamics and down force in the factory. All torque, no getting the right turn effectively😒

Why is the 2026 so slow in the slow/medium corners? Looks like 2026 cars will be terrible
Because the 2026 spec cars will have (way) less downforce. It will be slower in the corners but faster on the straight due to active aero. The FIA is pushing toward an era where most of the overtakes will be done into hard braking zones at the end of long straights, like we saw happening in Las Vegas last year. That's also why they are pushing towards more street circuits.
If you take a look at all street circuits, you'll notice that most of them have 90-degree corners and straights, nothing more nothing less. For example, Baku, Singapore, and Las Vegas are essentially all the same track. They all have 90-degree corners and straights. That's what FIA wants. They want races with lots of overtaking on boring 90-degree corner tracks. But that's not what real racing is and that's not what a real racing track looks like.
The best racing tracks like Suzuka, Spa, and Interlagos don't have 90-degree corners. These tracks have real corners where a good driver can make a difference by driving a different line through the corner.
When you go into a 90-degree corner, there is essentially only one driving line you can take. It's about braking hard and late, then taking the corner, and then smoothly applying pressure on the throttle. As a driver, it's hard to make a difference in such a corner because there's only one driving line.
When you take a corner sequence like the Suzuka Esses, there are lots of different driving lines you can take, and that's why a driver like Max can be several tenths faster in just a couple of corners, than Checo, just by driving a different line. In 90-degree corners, you can't make that big of a difference. There it's only about how late you can brake into a corner, and how much traction the car gives you out of the corner.
