Shamen are often selected from people who show 'psychotic' tendencies as the diagnostic literature would call it.. yet they are somehow able to traverse this nightmarish realm of extra-linguistic reality without losing the ability to come back with the knowledge of the experience. It's a huge sacrifice and the reason why these people live in solitude. because exposure to the "real" reality is traumatic and it alienates them from the rest of their community.
In a sense. They can claim it due to the masturbation of such filth projected on you tube. You can become a shaman after one night of binge watching. In a historical analysis this is clearly not the truth. There are intense restrictions and years of training involved.
