I made a Yuan-Ti Barbarian that is all bark and no bite.
So all about Charisma and no real combat potential.
8 Str 6 Con 8 Dex... like any good Barbarian.
Seriously tho 20+ Charisma and Charlatan Background.
Imagine if you will a buff looking snake person in fancy barbarian like attire; wielding an axe that looks well used and expertly maintained... except if anyone else were to hold it they would realize the axe is fake... Nerf or nothin fake.
All the survival feats they mention are factually true in that they lie through omission by not mentioning others parts in a fight. Luck Feat and Actor; they live by the bluff and die from the bluff I made them to be RP only. In combat his team has an insane Monk and about 8 others.
I made them for a self campaign where I play all roles but plan none of the sessions. So 10 is not to bad.
All 10 were built around some theme or gimmick rather than min-maxed.
The monk for instance fights with their feet instead of hands so they can Perform with their violin and literally dance upon the corpse of the dead (trampling them with river dance); However my dice loved the joke giving me 17+ rolls on all perform and athletic checks made to keep the joke combat style going. After the 3rd Nat 20 in a row I gave them Performance proficency.
A firbolg Acolyte Rogue named__________ (not filled in) with the nickname Golden Silence... that liked to roll bad for stealth. Others that were weird.
But the Barbarian that could not fight only start them was definitely one of the weirder members.

    • @KingWoop72
      @KingWoop72 Před rokem +4

@@MrTyhik Yeah, only class that I think can reall shift the action economy back into the Volo's version's favor is Sorcerer with Quickened spell, so you can use that big damage buff as soon as you get it. Like, say, a Volo's Protector Aasimar Sorc could shift, fly up, then quicken out a AOE, dealing massive damage all around, but choosing whoever looks like they are the biggest threat to take the big radiant burst.
Volo Scourge could also work in this example, but they cant fly and they take self damage, which on a d6 hit die class is more than a little risky. Though I suppose it could work as a combo with the Wither and Bloom spell along with a Bloodwell Vial if you can get your hands on one.

Fun fact: Since Initiative is a Dexterity-based ability check, and Harengon let you add your proficiency bonus to Initiative rolls, a 11th level Harengon Rogue with Reliable Talent can use it on their Initiative rolls, meaning with a DEX score of 16, at 11th level, the lowest a Harengon can roll is 17 on Initiative.

@Dudeman9339 Reliable Talent says that any roll "for an ability check that lets you add your proficiency bonus" has a 9 or lower count as a 10. The rules for initiative specifically say that initiative is determined by rolling a Dexterity check. Harengon add proficiency to initiative, and initiative is, RAW, a Dex check, so Reliable Talent absolutely applies. Likewise, Harengon bards would not be able to apply Jack of All Trades to their initiative, but every other race of bard can.

You'd have to pick a spell with no save, even Polymorph is an imperfect test as a failure could be down to them refusing to fail the test out of fear and them succeeding the will save.
The spell Detect Good And Evil will reliably detect that someone who appears to be Humanoid is actually Fey (or aberration, celestial, elemental, fiend, or undead)
With the ritual spell Forbiddance and consuming 1000gp you can permanently ward a massive area (equal to 200x200ft square) against Fey so that they take auto-damage. No save.
However, if you know the password that was set you can enter the area or you can use dispel magic. Might be interesting for intrigue finding what the password is.

You know they actually received Dark Vision and an additional spell with MotM?
They only took away Shape Water because they refuse to list spells that were released outside of the new printed material (and Player's Handbook).
Odds are most reasonable DMs will let you swap out Acid Splash, because at the end of the day it's not really a big deal.

He dual wilded scimitars and the DM let his hybrid form looked like a Barghest.
