Just found out that Joey Jordisan has passed away. RIP! When I discovered slipknot in 2000/01 they blew me away and his drumming was inspiring. His solo's and especially the rotating drum kit were just a little peak at how great an entertainer he was! I'll be listening to this all day!

It's not fair
This music is actually really good with releasing anger in a non violent way. As someone else described, it's like seeing your favorite team win. You didn't win, you weren't even in the game, but they won and you were rooting for them so you feel like you won. This music is really dark and angry, and that draws that stuff out of you.

It has to do with the energy you use! You're using Slipknot to channel your anger and therefore afterwards you feel refreshed! Its the same cathardic feeling of watching your favorite team win. You didn't win but you feel like you did. With this music you didn't feel their anger but you expressed and released it along with the song!

I don't know what got into me, but I found Slipknot's music inspirational. I mean, why not? I am now writing my Sci-fi/adventure novel. Their music is like massaging my sleepy brain cells. The catharsis from slipknot is honestly therapeutic, especially their old stuff. I grew up on this band but I didn’t get *deep* into them until I was a teenager and that was S/T and iowa. It was a band who was putting words to my anger and frustration and dark feelings I had built up in my life. Still listen to them to this day at the gym and whenever I need an itch in my brain scratched. Planning on getting the logo tattooed somewhere lol forever a maggot until the day I die

I discovered Slipknot when I was 12 and thought they were a screamo band but deep down I knew I liked them. 15 now and rediscovered them. Amazing band and story, all around great music.
