  • The Anglo-Indian Community in London Celebrated "Anglo-Indian Day - 2018" at Lanfranc Academy in Croydon on Sunday 29th July 2018. This very special annual Charity event was organised by The South London Anglo Indian Association (SLAIA). It certainly was well attended, Fun Filled and very enjoyable.

I am Anglo Indian and have just come across these videos. I live in Australia and have not come across many Anglo Indians apart from family. I truly miss a lot of the festivities. Beautiful food and Anglo slang. My Father was the Chief Controller of Howrah Station. I am going back to 1964 where we actually lived next to the station and had Jam sessions and dances in our house. I miss the people I knew back then as we left India in 1965. We also lived in Dhanbad for a long while my dad still in the Railways. I miss our beautiful house on the hill near the Dhanbad Railway Station. Such good memories of these places. Thank you for your videos it does bring back wonderful memories of our Anglo communities.

Spread all over the globe, still they are nostalgic about their native land; specially the elderly generation. Nice to view the celebrations. The food is great with an Indian touch. Great get together! Please meet as frequently as possible.
    Long live your unity.

Most Anglo Indians went to England as it was the easiest country to immigrate to. Some came to Australia, but the number was smaller than England and only to the capital cities. Nostalgia is dangerous, as I found out when visiting India recently. Everything changes in time.

Wow! It's wonderful. How I long to be one with you. You are the first steppers for the world of love and united one...Who ever are the reasons for the birth of Anglo-Indians are going to be looked upon deities in the years to come as world will, one day, become Anglo-Indian....
But you lead an exemplary life to lead the society. Increase your demograph by announcing sops, like: every new born is rewarded, of course financially.....then see the Anglo-Indian baby boom....
All the best ..Have a nice time....

Most of the Anglo Indians worked for railways as drivers of steam locomotives, guards, station masters and some as inspectors or officers. Frantz, Naronha, Whittle, Corey, Francis to name a few names.
Most if them stayed at loco shed bases like Perambur, Bitragunta, Lallaguda, Guntakal, Dornakal, Bondamunda to name a few.
Happy people to be with. God Bless 🙏.

As an old Anglo Indian, I find that the original Anglo's from India are long gone. The present people calling themselves Anglo Indian are not really the same as the ones I knew. There is nothing wrong with them, but technically they are not Anglo Indians. In India, it is hard to know the difference now between AI and other Indians.

Just to make all Anglo's who read this, a small community living in Allahabad. The area is called Bandwa Club, the land belongs to Anglo Indian who have lived there before independence. The govt has decided to take over the land & vacate by 16 Oct. The Anglo Indian community are not united, those responsible have not renewed the lease, many are old & frail. I do genuinely feel for them.
