Yeah I am going to watch this again sitting on the deck of the beach house using one day of my four weeks of holiday surrounded by annoying nature and hating the view into the thousands of miles of pacific ocean and hundreds of acres of native bush stretching to the horizon while i sip a world class local sav to wash down the 100% grass fed beef and organically growth fresh produce and gulp down the almost pure just slightly bush and sea tainted air deafened by the songs of birds , the roar of surf and the crystal clear stream tumbling down the valley .
It not all bad here but life is so limited ......
I might even feel so sad i will go inside and read a poem to char me up.

There is double glazed windows here and yes you can get proper air con installed so it goes through to all the rooms. HRV is good too.
When buying a house you need to check on how old the house is. May need a high pressure shower and water cylinder. Spiders, you cannot get rid, unless you use napalm…….they’ll keep coming anyways no matter how much you try & destroy the property.

You can do the census online as well. That's what I did and it only took about 10 mins. Travel to Europe hasn't really come back to what it was yet. Here's a tip I find works well for those European vacays. If you fly direct to Europe go through Asia instead of North America, either Singapore, Sydney, Brisbane or Seoul or possibly Dubai. It is easier on the body with Jet lag. because you are traveling with the normal rotation of the planet.
As I work in Tourism ,and The Bay of Islands is usually the last destination people visit before they go back to Auckland to Fly home ,sometimes the oversea visitors ask me questions that only they could ask ,mostly about things they have noticed about New Zealand and it's people and they only want to Know Why ?😅of note we have had a lot more American's this season and one family asked me why it there so many spiral things in art works and many other things although New Zealand and even the little soaps in places they stayed at ☺,I had to explain Maori culture has the Koru and it's cultural meaning ,only then did they understand .So if you get freaked out by spiral's DON'T MOVE HERE 😛

Have to agree the expense of home grown items is crap, but all that pricing boils down to the big corporates just maintaining their exorbitant end of year profit - sad thing is, most are overseas based on top our Government decided to privatize basic commodities. Wages compared to cost of living, total rat shit. But yes we are so blessed in many other areas - some if you can afford it. Even in the days before the internet , there were NZ children developing American accents from watching too many American tv programs, videos, films and listening to US music on radio etc.(Radio quotas for NZ music was around the same era) Pole shift is potentially a reason to not to move to NZ. There were a few US people in NZ who vlogged around 2015 or so. The likes of the ENZ forum has been for a long time the realistic go to places for people planning on moving to NZ. The negative were sites like the e2nz blog.
Those cobwebs are allegedly caused by Australians. Recently I read that the guilty party is the Australian grey spider.
After giving you possums and under-arm bowling then it makes sense we tried to do something more positive this time i.e. it wasn't the red-back or funnel-web.
Omg I just realized my car has cobwebs. I had gotten so used to them that I didn't notice them anymore. They're just a natural part of the decor lol
NZ has a wizard ,who lived in Christchurch ,most known in the 1980/90's(Look him up for who he is and his story 🙂,yip we have a Wizard here before the Lord of the rings happened ) He is/was called the Wizard of Christchurch ,he didn't want to do the Census (Wizard's have secrets 🤔) so each Census he get on a small boat and go into international waters (only way to get out of filling in the Census ,not sure if this still works today)🤔
Yeah, he was around in the 00's before the earthquake. Was a good sort, and had a lot to talk about.

I 100 percent agree. I have lived in New Zealand for 90 percent of my life and honestly cannot wait to leave forever. Everything is so damn expensive, the education system is horrible and the public schools are just awful, theres been a housing crisis for over 20 years with no sign of improvement and theres barely anything fun to do outside home.

Ha ha, Those lovely census questions, you must have received different census documents to us. We filled ours out online, we were also extra lucky and received two different census numbers to log in with😅
Yep those spiders are taking over. They always seem to be on my drivers side mirror😂 I live 30 minutes out of Christchurch and people think it's so far to come visit from the city. Or maybe they just don't like us anymore.

OMG, it is so true about the car side-mirror spiders. Pretty sure it's those little jumping spiders, but this behavior is so widespread they should get their own sub-genus.

New Zealand is a beautiful country… i’m lucky that my wife is a Kiwi so we go down there and visit family at least once a year. The problem is with socialized medicine. My father-in-law had to wait two months until he could have his triple bypass surgery. I’m not sure I would want to retire a New Zealand.
You should take out private insurance, like you do in USA
The USA has way more beautiful sites than New Zealand and also much more sunshine!… Also less rain and wind in the U.S. and Medicaid and Medicare will pay for your healthcare if you don’t have private insurance!

I think people need to know there is more farming here (cows, sheep and tree) than "nature" . And a lot of the nature they have made into tourist attractions with fast boats, binge jumping, etc. I come from California and the West Coast has so much beautiful nature but the problem is too many people so there is a tradeoff. My humble opinion.
The men are feminine, and lots of hillbillies, burnouts on public roads , tiny country , small shopping malls , hardly an variety, super expensive properties and food too as most fruit and veg is imported.
You will be poorer in NZ.
