I saw the item changes on another channel and I am terrified for hybrid Kai'sa and Kog now. Also the fact that akshan is getting buffed while having a 53.8% wr is making my brain melt.
it is like old Sol, very few people play on high elo since his counters are very good right now.
Also, this means AP varus is going to be SO much stronger, especially as adc/apc

@@ryyyyan As an Ap Varus mid main, full ap Varus is not affected much by those changes, but on hit hybrid will be so strong that full ap will get nerfed
isn't the only buff he's getting the ap scalling? if anything i'd say that's compensation for guinso having 30 less ad than every other mythic and kraken no longer doing true damage

I literally play katarina full attackspeed since i discovered her additional ad scalings on R SCALE with attackspeed. I would show you the 2 pentas i got in 2 different games after literally starting to play her just 2 weeks ago when i get mid, but to simplify:
1k AP build: 3.5k magic damage (omg so much)
500 AD build: 1k magic damage 3.5k physical damage (omg hybrid 4.5k total)
full AS (kraken, nashor, wits end, guinsoos, phantom, bork): 1.5k magic damage 8k physical damage + 1.5k from all onhits for a total of 11K HYBRID DAMAGE. i literally tested this against a 5k hp 150 armor and mr.
Anyway, i literally play this regularly, altough i will miss the true damage on kraken, these stupid ap ratios and ridiculous attackspeeds are gonna be so much fun on katarina.

@@aya8475 Honestly, i'm pretty bad at katarina, but i've been getting a lot better. Most matchups i wil play safe even after 6, and end up just farming with q. I've found the healing from dorans ring and the ap which helps with the q damage helps to play safe early, altough remember this build also goes Lethal Tempo, and this is crucial for your balanced/favored matchups, because for those i go dorans blade, and once you do your little trade, you save E, not to pick up a dagger, but to autoreset. remember E stacks lethal tempo too, and with the extra range and extra melee attackspeed, you absolutely outrade everyone, from 100 to 0 with one combo and the rest autos and ignite. This doesn't happen that often as, again, most of katarina's matchups are bad, but it isn't played that differently i think. You play more around your R and your burst combos rather than sustaining a fight since except wits end and maybe titanic if youre building it, you will be quite squishy, and the only sustain will be your healing from the damage, so that means your best source of sustain in a teamfight will be your R. I always start bork first, it's generally a good powerspike, and almost always have ended up needing to build wits end second for magic damage tanks, or because of a mage matchup, or poke heavy champs, etc so most of the time it's good, plus tenacity boots. If youre ever able, i'd go attackspeed boots and commit to the glasscannon build. After wits end you already pop most squishies with QEWRE or QEWERE and trying to fit in as most autos as possible. Except tanks, R will melt any squishy and most bruisers, but damage or not, it's CRUCIAL that you play it slow. Most games i haven't had success or haven't had to not rely on RNG to win teamfights by literally jumping in and pressing all my keys, unless they have already wasted their cc, damage or mobility. Most of the time, you'll have to dodge abilities, move back, "kite" by jumping to allies and waiting for your E cooldown, until you've wasted enough of the enemy's resources, and then you can go in on whoever's mispositioned or vulnerable, and then yeah just press all keys, try not to cancel R with W like i did way too many times, and it's so much fun. You kill any squishy by QER, and with R i mean a literal fraction of a second of R, and you 1v1 most tanks, altough i've found some tanks are just 1v1ers by nature and you can't really try to do that unless you have allies around, things like Mundo, Tahm Kench, maybe a Sion, they're all kind of useless to fight and you'll just end up giving them free heartsteel stacks and get them to take half of your hp with their consistent healing. On 1 item, youre strong, on 2 items, you're pretty strong, on 3, youre most likely your team's biggest menace, and at full build you technically become weaker fro all the other champion's survivability and supports, so as the game goes on you will have to play more with your team because again, you still have 2.5k hp and not 3.5k and a zhonyas to save your ass. I haven't played much of normal katarina at all really, but i'm pretty sure this is more of less her usual playstyle. Unless you're 12/0, which you could easily still die with a cait trap and some burst assasins or adcs, most teamfights you'll win by playing slow and wasting resources. That's why you're better with a skirmisher toplaner or jungler. I played a lot with a friend who goes diana jungle and if the game makes it past 20 minutes we become quite unstoppable. Her items would be, bork, wits end, kraken, nashor, phantom. For more defensive, titanic is good, and for REALLY EFFECTIVE tank melting, lord dominiks. Trust me it's disgusting and NOW IT AMPS PHYSICAL AND MAGIC DAMAGE ITS GONNA BE CRAZY omg omg ANYWAY TLDR just play her, shes really fun, full attackspeed is a lot of fun, you stab everyone to death when your cds are down, you absolutely melt everything in your way with R, it's hybrid damage but more like 75% physical 25% magic and it skews more towards physical the longer the game goes, and it's effective towards squishies, bruisers, and most tanks. This was my TEDx talk, goodnights.
PS.: i think the new duskblade should be really fun, the untargetability is really useful and if youre going all of the onhit stuff, the lethality wont be so wasted, plus cdr reduces the punishments for ability usage, and movespeed is suprisingly effective at making you harder to catch and helping you chase and dodge.

TLDR Of how AP Vayne now works
-1.5% Max HP Scaling per 100 AP on her W (Silver bolts)
-Guinsoos now Mythic item that gives double on-hit every 3 autos (after 4)
-Kraken Slayer now is no longer mythic and has 45% AP Scaling Magic Damage (It increases to 90% AP Scaling every proc after the first)
Nashors, Deathcap, Cosmic drive are all the same, but they are to work off the NEW AP SCALINGS on Vayne W and Kraken Scaling
Does this mean that heart steel+demonic embrace Vayne can (eventually) scale to 100% max HP true damage on her bolts?
Deathcap is 5% more AP on the passive.

Pretty sure the way kraken works is a 50% boost to damage after proccing, so I think it's 45% on 1st, 67.5% 2nd, 90% after

20:27 Pekin, runaan's hurricane did get changed. It gives 40% atk speed instead of 45% and gives 30 on hit magic damage.

This build is sorely lacking lifesteal I think.
Also they did change hurricane, they added an on-hit magic damage proc to it...which means it's now applying bonus on-hit magic damage on it's bolts without any other items.
The On-Hit builds and the Energized Attack builds are really going to shake up the game.
Also, the FoN change is really going to help out mages.
You may think that about FoN, but considering that it stacks faster and is, basically, a permanent buff as long as you keep taking AP damage.... it's actually worse for mages. A lot worse.

@@yGKeKe kinda backwards balance since Heartsteal + Demonic embrace means they can keep increasing AP, + the plethora of new items with AP scalings means they can keep attacking that costs no mana.
Plus the reason builds like Liandry's + Demonic was just barely bearable is because of FoN's 25% damage reduction; imagine an immobile champ against

A lot of big changes indeed, but saying "I deal a ridiculous amount of damage at this point" just before getting stat-checked by a one item Samira, I think that will always be in the game.
Seeing all these new on hit items, you should absolutely play Machine Gun Lulu (attack speed on hit build) for your off meta to masters series, once the patch is out

I've only played her support myself, I've found I click best with the enchanter/mage support playstyle, but I know the machine-gun build has been around as a for-fun off-meta toplane pick for a while

Vayne's being AP makes a lot of sense, she is a demacian, she hunts mythical monster or mages, and silver bullets are somewhat symbols of magical weapon against the dark creatures. Don't forget that while Demacian are magic xenophobic actually use magical stones against mages.
That and given Vaynes personality which didnt change much even with the sentinels, one could argue shed DEFINITELY employ magical weaponry against monsters.
Vayne more than likely could'nt give a damn for Demacias fear of magic - only hates the monsters/demons

Corki AP build probably wouldn't use any of these items, and Crit build which is far superior and pretty much always has been, will still be building crit items. So no, not really.

Runaans does not apply silver bolts on the secondary targets. Only the initial target. So it does work on vayne, because KR challenger was running Runaans, Guinsoo, Riftmaker, Titanic for a omnivamp vayne before the changes to ravenous

Hey Pekin! Just wanted to chime in and say that I love PBE videos! I'm sure many of us like taking a sneak peak at some of the wacky changes from an educational perspective rather than a clickbait OMG MUM DISOWNED ME AFTER THIS ONE youtuber perspective.
I don't think its a good idea to make ad items scale with AP since now any buff to an ap item to save mages will result in some ad item combination to be broken.
Definitely gonna be nerfed before new season begins, no way this is gonna be the meta

I was always annoyed that Riot moved away from hybrid ratios on not just items but also on champs forcing them down very specific build paths every game. Makes it boring

Runaan has acutally been changed quite decently. It now has a 30 magic damage on hit effect, and the bolts are 50% rather than 40% damage

Hurricane's bolts don't apply the silver bolts, only her main attack, so it's still usable if you want on-hit damage, but I think Shiv or Wit's End are better
The duskblade change is good, it was invis before. so obviously u cant target them in invis. ontop of the added bonus of being invisible... lol secondly theres a cooldown on the untargetable whereas there was no cd on the old invis i think

You know what, since this build path makes it really hard to get any survivability or even lifesteal, I don't think I really mind the damage being crap-your-pants crazy. All the on-hit effects being magic damage now also means they don't contribute to lifesteal even if you did buy it. Cool vid, glad you got the game to go long enough to show at least some of the potential.

you should play kaisa with the new changes! rageblade, kraken nashors,,, or try building kraken, galeforce, and shieldbow all on one champ of ur choice, it would be surreal to see
when you are stealth you are already untargetable, untargetable on duskblade is pretty much a nerf

This item changes added so much damage both for assassins and adcs, the have to nerf basically everything to keep those classes in check but they won't beeing riot
nashor , guinsoo's into kraken third item . maybe getting lich bane . into a banshees veil or a hourglass . sounds busted ap build :D

By my knowledge runaan's does not and has never applied silver bolts. You can buy it, stack silver bolts on your main target without having to worry about silver bolts going on another target because of runaan's. There are better items tho so still not worth buying.
