@@christopherreich613 1000% agree with you on that! I hope your experience was more than beautifully divine, seems you enjoyed it, so that's great! I also hope your work week goes well from here on out. 🫶
A thick patch of clouds rolled in about 10 minutes before totality here in very upstate NY, making it so you couldn't see ANYTHING wth the glasses, but the clouds moved on a minute before the sunlight started peeking through again and it was a beautiful experience to share with my kids. They absolutely LOVED it and my 6 year old was all too eager to quickly go show the video she took to our elderly neighbor, who's too sick & weak to go outside and who will probably be gone before the end of the month, was tearing up that she made it to yesterday and got to see the eclipse, but mostly she said she was grateful that my daughter immediately wanted to to show her the video. 🥺😊😊♥️
God bless your neighbor and your daughter for having such a good heart and being considerate of others! You’re doing a great job raising her if she’s already got morals like that. Keep it up! She’s a person we need more of!
I don't know if someone will read this but...I was not expecting getting that emotional during the eclipse . I've seen the pictures and videos before and I always found those very beautiful of course. But nothing can describe the feeling while it is happening in front of you but I'll try. You first look at the sun with light blocking glasses and you first see the moon blocking the sun. I said to myself... ok... this is really happening a bit in denial. And then you see it blocking slowly but surely. The temperature is starting to cool down even if the light is very bright. It made me realize how we are so dependent on the sun's energy for all life on earth. It made me appreciate how sun=life. The shadows have weird shapes. You look at the landscape and you know something is odd. And then... totality his happening, the crowd is screaming in awe, we just can't contain ourselves, it is literally impossible to contain. You feel the hype, it is stronger than what you expected. It is sunset colors 360 all around you and you see what seems like a black hole in the sky. Truly the weirdest and most beautiful thing I ever saw. You can see the sun atmosphere surrounding the moon, it feels violent, chaotic and you can't believe you can see sun storms with your naked eye. It is frightening and amazing at the same time. You can see planets and star which feels like a glitch in the matrix in day time. I felt like everybody wanted to share the joy with others. It removes the day to day problems. At that moment, hundreds of people are just cheering up what the universe can show us. It is a first timer for 99% of us so we are like a child discovering the world again looking confused and excited at the same time. So it is all there, right in front of you, the sun, the moon, the planets, the stars, the animals reacting to us and the light, the insects and bird chants changing, all people around you, many from around the world to see this, different languages, different families, different loves. But all our differences doesn't matter for those 4 minutes we all share one love to us and the universe. I felt connected to what our ancestors felt and I was grateful for them. I felt connected to the immensity of the universe and all its beauty
@@marcelnitanno no you’re wrong well technically right about the light takes 7 minutes to travel from the sun to earth but the reason why it won’t be completely dark is because the sun is still out only just a little bit
i believe I was on the path of totality, I wasted an hour sitting outside waiting. It barely got dark, extremely cloudy, and in like 5 minutes it was gone.
You were right about taking in the atmosphere before totality. That's how you enjoy an eclipse outside of the path of totality. Take in the lighting that you'll never see under any other circumstances. The unique beams are truly mesmerizing when you see them. There is still much to see in a partial eclipse, but you have to look for it. It's not big and in your face like it is in totality.
i was lucky enough to live in the path of totality AND spent a frantic 20 minutes before totality chasing down openings in the cloud cover to be able to see it in all its glory... only for the clouds to completely disappear as soon as it was over lmao
I was in near path and I had like 79% eclipse and even though it didn’t get really dark, I noticed it get pretty dark and even the temperature drop a few. Didn’t have glasses so I made some fun DIY indirect viewing devices like a cardboard box pinhole projector or just shadows of leaves on the driveway or cars, or even my Apple Watch band worked for it too with the tiny wholes. Stinks that the next total eclipse in North America is in 20 years
He made it sound like 20 years is in one day😂
I heard today that they actually occur about every 2 years , but just not over land and can be seen from the ocean some where.

thank you so much! i couldn't see it as i live on the other side of the world! im so grateful i got to see it
Seeing it in person is so cool the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen
He made the 20 years sound like it was gonna happen next tuesday
when looking at a solar eclipse, it feels like you are looking at a black hole
yeah it even hurts to look at one through a screen.
I thought it was gonna be pitch black, but it was more grey, and when it barely moved back it instantly became bright
Exactly. It never gets dark.
Ya same
I think thats because you probably werent in the path of totality. same happened to me it just got a bit chilly and the sky got a bit darker
It was too short to get real dark. Light takes 7 minutes to travel from the sun to Earth

We were off the totality and very cloudy so I could not see anything. Thank you for the film, better than seeing it live.

Yes
Yoo i didnt even realize that

Another 20 years💀
the next one is in september as a partial solar eclipse and then a full solar eclipse in october
And here i was, sleeping in europe💀
0:01 if you look next to the Sun, you can see the eclipse halfway covering the Sun by that mini shape in the sky
It was so weird. I did not get those distinct crescents even a couple of minutes before totality
Bro Now I HAVE TO WAIT 20 YEARS😭😭😭
Thank you for this❤
Meanwhile Antarctica having a solar eclipse:
I on accident looked at the sun during the eclipse without the glasses…
No wonder many people googled "my eyes hurt"
Nice that the clouds were in the way

That was really epic! I was on a plane during the eclipse so I didn’t see it but now I did I!
I didnt see it before but this looks GREAT!!
Fun fact: Lens flares are croissant shaped during a solar eclipse.
"It's just crazy that the solar eclipse look like a black hole"
for some reason it was so cloudy where i live throughout the whole eclipse and it only cleared up immediately after the eclipse ended☹️
The way he confidently said 20 years😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How he said “don’t w we will have another one in twenty years 😂😂😅
Note the solar glasses are safe to take off during totality

He said Don’t worry there’s another one in 20 years so causally 😂😂
Such a beautiful sight, looks like a black hole from a long way away ❤
I now it was so cool and when it was dark and you looked around it was beautiful I loved when totality happend
bro really said " better luck next time"
Thx for showing us
Its a shame that cameras can't do it justice. Our eyes zoom in quite a bit, the cameras make it seem like its 100x smaller.
We went outside for it and it lasted 20 minutes, still a cool experience
When the moon is directly Infront of the sun it kinda looks like a black hole
Any one else notice he was Science Bob?
"This is the sun"
Me : "MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!"
imagine if you see two solar eclipses but then you realize the other one was a black hole
Thanks for telling me when the next solar eclipse is coming
Me : Takes picture of it with my phone and looks at it

Good editing bro
I took a nap not knowing the eclipse started an hour later
That was beautiful.
My country was so cloudy that it didn’t even turn dark 😂
hey science bob, i really like what you do for Mark Rober but I loved seeing you at Camp in the summer!!
When he said it'll turn totally dark. That means he's in the path of the solar eclipse.
It was cloudy and had only 93% coverage but I could see it so that’s a plus
the next total solar eclipse where I live will be in 120 years 💀
