The Evo was the engine that pulled Harley out of the deep hole that "THEY"....had put the company in. Best Harley engine ever made. I've rode and owned different makes of motorcycles for 40 + years. I own a 05 Honda and a '97 Wide Glide now. Guess which one gets rode the most.......

$4,700.00 buys it today. Only 17,836 miles. Motor sounds smooth. My only concern would be tires, their age more than their thread depth. Old rubber gets hard and don't hold the road as good. Great bike...no computer sensors, no catalytic converter, just a pure machine. This bike you can make your own repairs. Buy this bike now.

Tires for that size are fairly cheap and very easy to replace on a Saturday morning.

It does use electronic ignition and a computer for that. They are very bullet proof though.

In Australia a H-D like this would cost 8 to 10,000 Australian dollars. Buyers are actually importing them from the USA into Australia. I like the Evo motor. They are simple in construction and easy to work on. Set them up properly and then ride the motorcycle properly and they will last as long as any other motorcycle motor.

The single cam EVO engine had Metal Gears for cam operation and a bolted together crankshaft. It was a solid machine and classic Harley. And replacement parts, both OEM and aftermarket are easy to find and to obtain. EVOs run much cooler than the Twin Cam engines too.

You don't need to rev the crap out of a Harley. Change up earlier to keep the revs down and enjoy the torque. Agree with you about forward controls. They are OK around town but high speed touring with head wind makes it hard work keeping the feet on the pegs and spray from the front wheel fills the boots if it rains. You will appreciate the screen if you ride at 70mph on the freeway for a few hours.

I know this video is at least 4 years old but for newbies researching the Low Rider, forward controls eliminate the option to have one of the three positions to place your feet when your butt goes numb on a long ride! First position at the mid controls second position at the highway pegs third position hooking your heels on the passenger pegs.

Of course ... I bought a 96 Harley-Davidson Softail Custom, which was from an official of the US embassy in Spain and I am very satisfied, first because it saved me 5,000 euros that a new one costs and second because it was an Evolution that they no longer sold.

Might stop in Atlanta, ( around halfway), about two , seven hour shots! What do you think, are they pretty comfortable? I can always stop and rest, but I think I need that

The point here was that this is a sales video for a particular bike. If I were looking to buy this bike and the sales guy in the video doesn’t know what the hell he is riding, why would I consider that dealership at all? There is a lot to be said for scripting a sales video for consistency, it only makes you look foolish if you refer to the object you are selling incorrectly. If I were in marketing for srk cycles, I’d have scrapped this video and reshot the bike with the correct model named. Know what I mean?

@El Meat Beat as long as the previous owner signed over the title and then he signs it over to you, you're good. Get a bill of sale too, nothing fancy. The registration doesnt really matter whose name it's under. It could be under his wife on the title but him on registration, states vary. If the title is free and clear with no missing signatures from previous owners and the bike has no liens, you should be solid.
