*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

It is so infuriating that the US food supply is so crappy. I've been to many European countries and everything is fresh and clean. There isn't a bunch of junk in their foods. It is so hard finding things that are not adulterated here in the US. We have so much land and the ability to farm healthy, yet Europe does it so much better and clean and local. Grrrrrrr.

    • @ledacedar6253
      @ledacedar6253 Před měsícem

yah, well they did as currently they are under attack by the EU woke lot demanding farmers are destroyed re CO2 Bullshit plandemic of hunger coming for all of us if we don't fight the bastards.

It isn't "better." It isn't that the US is incompetent or doesn't know how to do it, or that Europe figured something out no one else is aware of. It is with INTENT that they do this in the US. It is big food companies, industrial farming companies, and pharmaceutical companies aligned with the FDA, the USDA, and the CDC. They all scratch each other's backs with campaign donations, private investments, exclusive contracts and kickbacks to pump us full of poison and keep us sick.
Europe is facing food shortages and it's about to get massively worse, so I wouldn't glorify what they are doing. Starving their people isn't better than poisoning them. Decide which way you want to be screwed, I guess. They also have power shortages all over the country because of (bad) green policies, as well as being subservient to Russia to supple their power.
It isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just a conspiracy. The idea is to make people so starved and/or so sick, combined with a massive economic crisis (and another COVID type scare) that everything becomes a regional-globalist-model dependency state. Climate change is one of the ways they are going to create shortages of red meat, and taking away land ownership rights will keep people from herding privately.

You can make ‘ravioli’ from slices of provolone! Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; place cheese slices on the pan and fill with a spoonful of pre cooked/hot ground beef or other finely diced meat, fold over so edges meet and pinch to seal, place in 325° F oven just long enough for cheese to soften (not quite melted). Oh my!!! I’ll have to try your melted version!

They don’t refrigerate eggs in a lot of other countries because they don’t remove the bloom from the egg. The bloom or cuticle covers the egg naturally when it’s laid by the chicken. If you remove that bloom by washing the eggs, you will have to refrigerate the eggs as they will spoil. Regarding the milk, some countries use a different pasteurization process than the U.S. does. This allows them to store milk at room temperature.

I just learned from one of the carnivore podcasts @big Man, Alaska that, you can make soft boiled eggs or hard boiled eggs in an air fryer.
I have a small air and I put 2 eggs in it on 250 for 10 minutes and honestly they tasted better than boiling water on the stove and dropping them in it . Soooo goood. We haven’t had a stove for about three months because we remodeling our kitchen, living room and second bedroom. So we’ve been living out of the master bedroom for that long .
These were the instructions that were given for about 20 eggs, but I have a small air fryer so I just made 2 eggs,…one for my dog and one for myself. And it was so delicious..
I make my own butter with one stick of regular butter that melts down to a half cup and 1/2 cup of carrington Farms, refined coconut oil. It has less of a coconut flavor and it mixes well with the butter. And then a half teaspoon of Redmond salt..
    So everything is in halves
    1 stick of butter 1/2cup
    1/2 cup coconut oil
    1/2 tsp. Redmonds salt .
    Mix and refrigerate till hardened.
    Soooo good

Italy is especially famous for such clean, original made meats, cheeses, eggs, dairy, etc. I think that’s why they don’t get so fat in Italy. I’m sure Spain is the same. Hello from Australia. So the reason the eggs are kept in the fridge in some countries is because they wash them. Eggs naturally have a membrane on the outside of the shell which allows them to be kept out of the fridge however if they are washed the membrane is removed which makes the shell porous so then they have to be kept in the fridge. :) Love your content Laura.

It's pretty amazing how you guys have adapted to all the changes/challenges of not being home. I'm surprised you haven't found Goya products in Spain. Also, the beautiful color of the eggs was the first thing I noticed. You only find that color here in farm eggs and eggs from pastured raised chickens. I purchased "cage free" eggs for the first time in a million years for cost reason and I must say, that pale yellow yolk was a huge disappointment. And yes, I'm aware "cage free" means absolutely nothing. Looking forward to more "from Spain" videos. It's absolutely beautiful there.

The color is from marigold flowers, it doesn't necessarily make the eggs any healthier. As long as the chickens are farm or pasture raised free range chickens, you are getting the best eggs (marigold included in their diet or not).

Always buy pasture raised and you won’t be disappointed in the color of the yolks.

@@matthewmitchell5721 As someone who has raised chickens, I can tell you that our lovely orange yolks were not from marigolds, it was because our chickens were free to roam and eat fresh grass along with whatever bugs they found.

Thank you so much for sharing these… I live in Mexico and it’s hard to deal with meat that’s so different. I’d appreciate knowing the names of these cuts of meat next time bc they sell a lot of meat from Spain over here. But I don’t understand the names of the cuts even though I’m very fluent in Spanish. LOVE this!!

In Portugal they don’t typically age their meat. So, it is a bit different in flavor.

When we lived in Spain, my favorite meat was pork chops. So much better there than in the USA. I would go to the market and have them cut fresh at the meat counter, bring them home and fry them in a skillet with olive oil and seasoned with salt, pepper and oregano. You are right, their food is so much cleaner than in the states! I had a hard time transitioning back to the food when we returned to the USA after a couple of years. And yes, it does stay light much later there. In June you will notice that it's still light after 10:30pm.

Laura, I love watching your videos. For one dinner you mentioned cooking chicken drumsticks at 400F. I’ve never cooked drumsticks at that high a temperature. How long do you cook them for? And by the way, eggs don’t have to be refrigerated if they’re not washed because they have a protective coating. They have to be refrigerated in the US because the coating is washed off. Oh and that oven cooked provolone looks amazing! I think I have the perfect little pan to try it in.
