Private aircraft of the 30’s were truly works of art. I remember flying with my father in our 1938 Ryan SCW in the early 60’s. I was a teenager at the time and when given the the stick when were on a 1-2 hour flight so he could rest was the closest to heaven a young man could ever be…
True classics for sure, sounds like you have great memories. Thank you for sharing James 👍😎
My Sunday school teacher asked my class if we would like to go for "an airplane ride" This was the late 50s and the aircraft was a Stinson. I felt so special and was so impressed. Thanks for sharing yours ...
That was really nice of your teacher, thank you for sharing & watching 👍😎
GORGEOUS! And ya just can't beat the sound and feel of a radial engine! Was up a few times in a V-77 with my Pa 50 or so years ago (he was the pilot). Very nice but, truth be told, I've loved Howards since I was 2 years old. Pa bought a basket case '43 Howard, put her together & we did alot of flying in her til he sold it in the '70's. While we both favored Howard, the Stinson Reliant had our respect and admiration as well. Many thanks for sharing this video!
Thank you for sharing about you and your Pa, yes they are both great aircraft and I'm glad you have lot's of nice memories of flying with him. Take care Kate 👍😎
@@EdWhisenantAviation Many thanks, Ed. All the best to you as well!
My wife and I had the pleasure to get up close to this aircraft after work yesterday in Vernal Utah. The gentleman was very nice and polite to speak with. I felt like a kid in a candy store when we were given a brief tour of this magnificent flying machine. They had truly made my day, my week. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to see it up close. It truly is a beautiful aircraft. We wish you well on your journey.
Hi Robert, I'm so glad you got to see this up close, it is a very rare aircraft now days 👍😎
Beautiful aircraft. My very first ride in a plane was in one of these, 50 years ago. I fell in love with flying. This was out of RHV. I heard years later the plane was sold to someone in the central valley. I remember it sounded something like yours. Will always cherish that experience. Been so long - thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story Nancy 😎👍
The guy that owns the Shell Oil Jimmy Doolittle Reliant said there are only about 4 of these out of 18 registered with the FAA still flying. How wonderful for you to have such a beautiful bird!!! They have ;/ ALWAYS been a favorite! I've flown out of Santa Paula quite a number of times in an AT-6. Tight airport to get into with the hills so close. Aqua Dolce looks real nice.
Yes, I was told this is very rare, I do not own this beauty but was so lucky to fly in it. I like the Agua Dulce Airport and that is nice that you fly in a an AT-6 great aircraft. Thank you for your comment & for watching 👍😎
This plane Currently resides in Faribault MN, at RARE Aircraft. We are in the process of recovering it. It's a beautiful and almost all original aircraft! Can wait to see it back together and back in the air!!
I'm assuming Rick sold it? This was a fantastic experience flying in this historic aircraft. thank you for watching and commenting and so glad you are taking good care of this Stinson 👍😎
No Rick is still the owner. He says if there is a way he could be buried in it he would, according to my boss. 🤣
@@TheAveragePyro Glad to hear that Rick still owns this beautiful Aircraft. Is it's home base still at Agua Dulce Airport ?
Breath taking! Gorgeous airplane! Thank you!
Your welcome John, thank you for watching & for your comment :)
Love the look of a gull-wing Reliant landing with flaps down, looks like a large bird, and that round engine sound on takeoff.......

@EdWhisenantAviation I always loved the lines of the Reliant. Even more than a staggering. So by 1937 the R-985 was standard? I thought originally they came with the 300 hp lycoming.
@@kenstewart5991 I just found this on this plane as follows:
Features of NC18425
450 HP at T/O rating, Single Stage Supercharged.
Engine has been installed in NC18245 since 1951.
SR-9F right?
Yup! Thank you for watching Kevin 👍😎
Deja 2
Thanks for watching :)
Pity it's a "Rolling shutter-jelly-wobble gopro, over priced substandard so-called camera!
Such a pity real cameras are seldom used! Wonderful aircraft. Deserves much better!
Thanks for watching Barry and sorry you didn't like the footage, I really enjoyed my Flight in this rare bird :)
