Welcome to another bespoke campervan build series. In this series I am converting an XLWB Fiat Ducato with a layout different from what I've built in the past. This conversion comes with lots of extras so should make for a fun build.

Looking forward to seeing this build progressing Danny.
Yeah it's a big one and different from what I've done before, so looking forward to it myself haha hope your both well Barry 👍
Brilliant. Great to see another build. Looking forward to seeing the van evolve. 😀
It's different from the other conversions I've built before, I'm looking forward to this one👍
Good to see a different layout for a change rather than the usual side kitchen layout imo. nice one dan keep up the good work
Beautiful.
Great video as usual, looking forward to see the build.
Many thanks for watching 👍
Love it Dan, great to see another series coming out.
Great video Dan can’t wait for next video, I’m planning a build with space for a motorcycle under so hope this video gives me some tips
We are both fine thanks just had 2 weeks in the Highlands
Always nice to see a more.professional build on camera. With the boards already attached at the start of the video it doesn't show any batoning behind. Did you use batoning?
Nice to see you doing a van again if you remember you did your first start to finish vlog on my van at nu venture
I do remember you Robert, how are you both?
Great vid mate just wondered why you didn't use foil vapour barrier as so many recommended cheers bud 👍
Hi Dan first time on your channel 👍🏻 I am in the thought process of converting a L3 or 4 H2 Citroen relay so have been watching lots and lots of videos 👀. I noticed you don’t put on the foil vapour barrier everyone seems to bang on about, you may have addressed this in a previous video if so please direct me to it, but just wondering why no vapour barrier, as you have been doing vans for years I understand, then I would be interested to know why you chose this route as I am sure it is based on years of experience. I will work my way through your vids 👍🏻
Thanks in advance
Alex👍🏻
Ps any other viewers I will welcome their comments on this matter
Hi thanks for watching👍 I don't use vapour barriers as many other converters don't use them either. A camper needs to breath and this vapour barrier stops this from happening. I always provide ample ventilation in the campers I build and never had a problem. Hope this helps👍
Hi Dan, i'm interested in how you have fixed the ply batons on the roof in this build, are you able to provide a little more detail? I'm in the beginning stages of my ow Ducato conversion. You'll probably get many more questions from me, sorry 😀
I've just binged you most of your videos, brilliant work! It's inspired me to go and buy a H2L3 Ducato and start my own project, if it turns out half as good as yours I'll be please :) Also, what thickness ply do you use on the floor and do you insulate underneath this? Thanks again, Matt
Thanks Matt, 12mm on the floor and it all depends on if the customer wants the floor insulated as it will reduce the height inside👍
Many thanks for watching
I notice you havent installed a vapour barrier or taped joints. Any particular reason for this Dan?
I've never used vapour barriers in the 20+ years I've been building campervans and never had a problem.
Many thanks for watching
👍
Thanks John 👍
Can't wait to see how this turns out ,is their much advantage with an xlwb Vs lwb interns of what you can fit in?? , XL Wb are a bit of a pain to park etc ??
The customer needed the extra length due to the layout but the width and height are still the same.
Many thanks for watching
@@dantheman321 same wheelbase as the LWB, too, so turning circle is same. All the extra length is behind the back wheels.
From Canada: you seem to spray glue only on the ceiling, not on the insulation material?
On the bigger pieces I do, some of the work is done off camera to speed things up so you might not have seen it done. Many thanks for watching
Ricky gervais is doing campers now 🤣. Just kidding lad. Isuzu NPR duel rear wheel with fiberglass body How much? Just in case I win the lotto
Ricky Gervais wishes he could build campers 🤣😂. If you could send all of your details of the conversion and the vehicle to Tom at Info@landseerleisure.com
He will be able to give you all the information 👍
Many thanks for watching
do you sell in Australia
👍🇮🇪👍
Did you use and sound deadening on the panels? Couldn't see anything in the video.
?
My new facelift Ducato H3L4 will be here in a few weeks, any chance??
I will have a word Mark, hope your well speak soon
@@dantheman321 thanks..
@@thenoworriesnomad Hi Mark I've spoken to Tom and with how the order book is now we would be looking mid to late next year unfortunately. Might be worth dropping him an email again Mark and telling him what kind of layout etc. Failing that Paul at Cruize Campers is a great convertor.
Speak soon
Dan
@@dantheman321 Thanks Dan..👍🏻
Can I ask how you attach the wood in the over cab shelf section? Have you attached battens to screw to?
Which part do you mean? The roof continues through from the back which is attached to metal. The front piece is slid down at the front and connected to the roof part and the side pieces are cut to size and screwed to the plastic. Hope this makes sence.
Many thanks for watching
@@dantheman321 yeah I mean above the cab. I could see the ceiling continues through, but there were no battens that I could see ? Only the one on the rib. And you said you needed to add one more piece to cover the insulation but didnt see what you would attach to
@@snowbananagirl think I showed that in the next video 👍
@@dantheman321 ok cool, I think I found a shot in an older video too, so that helps.
1,2 year and the whole buildings to change because everyting will rot. No moisture insulation !
I've built campervans this way for the last 25 years and not one has had problem with rot. This is because there is ventilation throughout the build.
But many thanks for watching
