Holy crap! Polly Pocket! I had all three of the compacts in that ad and several more. It was the last toy line I collected before I started going through my "too cool for toys" phase. I was 11.
I remember having the ballerina one, I loved those things
I know I didn't hear Luther Vandross singing in the beginning.
You sure did, honey!! Smooth as hell, right?
I thought the same thing!
i was only 8 years old at this time and i remember most of these like i last seen em yesterday
Man, I remember that Frosted Mini-Wheats commercial. I always wondered what his problem was, like he didn't like being called bright.
I still have the sparkling ponies. I love them, and I'm never giving them up!
Could someone PLEASE tell me, was Josh ready to deliver a child? Oh my god, I MUST KNOW!!!!!!
Spinlok i don't mind ordering a VHS recordings of Saturday morning cartoon. Block from the 1990s on eBay for my collection
I had that Newborn Nancy doll in 1995... I think my mom still has it in the basement, but I had it until I moved out in 2005. Man, talk about memories!
That's Luther Vandross singing in that Zack of all trades PSA
I think the X-Entertainment guy said it best
The heart of Saturday morning was, of course, the cartoons. There was nothing more bittersweet than a great Saturday morning television lineup coming to an end. Come noon, you were sitting there with your bowl of stale milk & cereal, stuck watching the 12 o'clock news or the best plays of the week. It was awful. As a final slap in the face, even the commercials switched from their youthful target demographic to things we weren't at all interested in.
Ha! 17 years ago today/yesterday!!
And I don't remember "Zack of All Trades" not one bit. :/
i still most of my cool tools set,and i still have my old Creepy Crawlers machine and molds
@fattoler I'm posting a new commercial volume every day until Christmas as part of my annual Christmas Marathon.
the hardest part of any saturday morning (assuming i wasn't grounded for whatever reason or had a bunch of chores) was which network to watch my saturday morning cartoons on (abc, cbs, nbc, wb, or fox usually) and was the only time of the week me and my sisters were willing to get up around 8ish in the morning till around noon.
ZoruaZorroark uggggggggh! Those 2 right there. Being grounded, hated that with a passion! Then deciding what network, yep, true!
Is that Luther vandross singing me to the right track of a career
Wow game boy AND zelda! What a deal!
That was a great Zelda game.
Man, the PSA about having a career and following your dreams...cruel to me, in hindsight, as a Millenial!
Even more crueler for Gen z.
As I may have already stated previously, you surely have an extensive cool commercial collection! Keep right on posting them! I absolutely enjoy watching them!
I want some Cool Tools.
Watching all these I get very envious of that abundance of VHS tapes you've gotten your hands on. It must have taken an eternity just to go through all these!
This is crazy nostalgic! I was kid when these aired on TV!
I even had the gymnast Barbie and got teased at school for bringing it for show and tell lol (I'm a boy)
This was a good rush to watch, thank you.
I had gymnast barbie too! In fact I'm about to turn 34 on Tuesday and I'm pretty sure she's still in my childhood bedroom 😂
The little girl in the Newborn Nancy commercial is Kimberly J. Brown, who also plays Marnie in the Disney Channel movie Halloweentown 🎃
I used to love the Bugs & Tweety show!
Now that you got the proto-typical ABC Saturday morning in what was arguably their final season of decent shows, I shed a tear for the past, but thankful for someone to archive and document all the great moments.
Also everybody, were you not as PISSED as me when at the end of our great Saturday Morning journey, the V/O would say something like THIS GUY DID ??? "College.... Football..... NEXT!" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
wow so many memories. I'm glad i remember most of these because lately I've been wondering how good my long term memory is.
Football equals the end of Saturday morning and start of the afternoon, but man I thought that sonic and knuckles lock on technology was the coolest thing ever.
Oh, the optimism of Zack of all Trades :(
Newborn Nancy looks just like a real newborn!.....aside from the old lady perm......
I remember the Frosted Mini Wheats ad really well
I also loved the "McWorld...It could happen!" campaign
I miss the original Polly Pocket & Littlest Pet Shop. Weren't they taken off the market b/c o choking hazards?
he mini Cabbage Patch Happyy Meal toys were really cool
Sonic & Knuckles, aka the answer for those who played Sonic 3 to the end and cried "where's the rest of this game?"
Oh wow, Zack of All Trades! Another almost forgotten memory. Funny how the all the words are still in my head.
Cool tools had memorable jingle
I hated college football for years, because it made the cartoons go away!!!!!!!
Yooooo! Me too! 😂😂😂😂
Gymnast Barbie...LOL!
MCWOOOOOOOOORLD (hey, it could happen!) omfg so 90s
I loved the Gameboy and Legend Of Zelda3
@AnuRaSet I feel the same way when Kids WB was replaced by a Soul Train episode.
That McWorld ad is seriously strange. If you had a magic remote that could do anything, you sure as heck wouldn't bother with McDonalds' food. And you'd think the girl would at least bump her parents up to store managers.
Oh, Littlest pet shop before they ruined them! I mean, who ever heard of having a blue lemur as a pet?
I'm pretty sure I had Gymnast Barbie as a child but, I'm not entirely sure.
I know I definitely did have Olympic Gymnast Barbie from 1996, it was so cool that Mattel put that out not long after the Atlanta Olympic Games.
yay! 17 years ago.... thanks for the memories :D
God what I would do to go back to the 90's.....
I betcha both those kids in the drug ad now take some sort of prescription DRUG, or DRINK, or smoke DOPE...LOL
I wish cool tools came back
DUDE THAT'S LUTHER VANDROSS IN THE ZACK COMMERCIAL
I loved and miss those "After these messages.." bumpers. I really don't know why. I didn't realize until now that Luther did Zack of all Trades...sad. Thanks for the video
I had that Magus figure, at some point I lost the little figures.
6:49 my favorite commercial
I miss my newborn nancy doll!! I would give anything to get another one!
when i was little i thought it was newborn nasty!
OMG I REMEMBER THOSE MC DONALDS CUPS
The suffering end's at 1:00
I'm not sure how much they cost now but they are sooo different. They are not even pocket size anymore so who knows?
I'm Gymnast Barbie, and no other gymnast on Earth has a figure as ridiculously-proportioned as me!
Sonic & Knuckles is forever the best Sega game ever made. Always go with Knuckles.
I wanna cry 😢
They really are from the year of change, and I was 6 back then...
Cool Tools were the shit.
I was born in 2008..... I want the sparkling ponies
Aw, look how young Alex Trebek looks...
Lock-on technology, eh? Must work great with that blast processing!!
Haha these ponies are a sparkling bastard.
I had no idea Best Buy was so old... >.>
Is that Kimberly J. Brown in the Newborn Nancy ad?
Is that Katie Volding at 7:19? Ronald calls her, "Katie", and she does look at lot like her.
Mc World i kinda like that..
omg Polly pocket
RIP Alex Trebek
i also like this one at 2:09
so did Saturday morning golf...ugh
I wonder what's up with those 2 kids from that drug commercial now. 😒
Beam back up top the mother ship!
'Stay tuned for college football!' BOOOOOO. Aw man, I gotta get dressed and do stuff now. LAME.
i was only 8 years old at this time and i remember most of these like i last seen em yesterday
