- Minecraft 1.20 - New mobs to be added in Minecraft 1.20 Update. The 2022 mob vote is back and has new mobs such as the sniffer, the rascal & the tuff golem. This means only one mob can be added in 1.20 from the mob vote. I hope the sniffer mob is added! Whatever mob wins the vote will also have new features such as new blocks & items. The sniffer hands down is the best choice imo, I'd love to see more plants in the game even if they're just decorative plants. ancient seeds that would otherwise be unattainable, getting to hatch it yourself, the possibility of it being a ridable mount. There is just so much potential here not to choose the sniffer, and it's so damn adorable!

It would be awesome if you could brew potions from the ancient seeds! maybe a potion that lets you have the ability to find ancient seeds under plants but the potion will be very hard to make
I would never miss an opportunity to get new farming items. I like the Sniffer and the Tuff Golem.
The other 2 mobs are cool, but i'd like to have more mobs that you'll find in the ocean. So sniffer it is. I also want more plants

Sniffer is definitely getting my vote. The most interesting design, swimming underwater to get the eggs are really cool, and some new plants. Plus this mob works the best with the archeological features coming soon to the game.
The Sniffer looks like a grass ground typed regional varient of Numel and Camerupt from Pokemon. Definitely voting for it!
{Numel has a patch of green on it's back that resembles grass, and this mob's torso is a grass block.}

I personally already voted for sniffer but honestly the tuff golem and rascal are pretty cool too!
4 reasons I want the sniffer:
1: New plants could be used for decoration or we could even get some new food items which i think needs to be added because the only food items we have right now are bread, pumpkin pie, baked potatoes, cookies, the root vegtables, beetroots, etc.
2: The sniffer looks like a really cool mob and its design makes it look really cute!
3: It looks like a pretty balanced mob. I mean, if you want to get your hands on ancient seeds, it can't be too easy!
4: Maybe you could figure out how to automate getting ancient seeds?

I would like to see bears in the game. We already have polar bears and honey, so having a brown bear would be pretty nice
Sniffers might bring new things, not just cool plants, maybe new food, new mechanics, new concepts, dyes, RECIPES or even change farming completely! And the ancient mobs are a great idea i have been wishing for ages!

I don’t agree with this. It confirms a single plant, with just a simple curve. No berries on the vine, the other two are both better. And why would farming change? They have the main colors of dye, and would just add new flowers since dyes shouldn’t be difficult to get.

im voting sniffer. i love the idea of having a prehistoric mob may raise the chances of finally getting our archeology update which i was looking forward to the most. also the sniffing animation just seems so cool! + minecraft could really use some new plants and as we all know the sniffer will add those too, how could you resist the sniffer its so adorable!! i also do think it is the most useful one because late game we wouldnt need to play hide and seek for 30 minutes for lightly enchanted iron, and a tuff golem is neat but it really is just a walking item frame. sniffer >>

Honestly I might have to vote the tuff golem just because the sniffer looks cool but they did say that the plants wouldn't do anything special.
The rascal is a cool concept but if it only gives you iron pickaxes then it would be useless late game. But if the tuff golem can just pick up items if its not holding one, im just going to get a bunch of them and get them to help me clean out my mines because they can pick up any amount by themselves

I’m team Sniffer, the rascal seems like it would follow the trend of blue, looks cool, but is everyone is disappointed in it. And while I loved the copper golem idea, the tuff golem just seems unnecessary.

@@redjake6075 I know it will give random items that's just the only item we know it will give and if the rest of the items are of similar quality then their would be know point in finding one past a certain point in the game unless the items are something that will always be useful like potions or xp or enchantment books (until way late game)

The reasons :
1) Rascal
a) Would finding it would be worth it?
b) What items will we be getting?
c) Would the items be hard-to-find items or will be items which you can get quickly?
2) Tuff Golem
Summoning a mob just to show off your items is kinda useless to me as if we are on a multiplayer server our friends can steal them more easily
and maybe Rascal Can push you into lava while you try make brigde 😆😆

I think the sniffer is the obvious choice and brings most to the minecraft verse
so my options on the mob vote is a literally rascal that gives you a negligible pickaxe, a golem that stands, walk around, and do nothing and a ancient mob that is collected from the ocean that gives you ancient seeds and it also looks and acts very cute.

Do you guys follow or heard about jeb's twitter? He said that the rascal will drop more than an iron pickaxe and that the "ancient seeds" are decorative plants. The way they explained what the mobs do is so lackluster in these small concept videos omg

Honestly i'm between Sniffer and Rascal. the new plants and flowers sound interesting from the Sniffer and the Rascal seems amazing making it a bit more fun to explore caves. not to say the tuff golem isnt interesting. but it just Doesnt seem as useful as the others to me.

Glow worm (possibly a food source, and a block that glows, and glows brighter when it eats a small flying mob, slowing like cob web, harvestable when glowing bright drops an extra glow worm)

the tuff golem is a lot like the allay that we have and we probably would be able to ride the sniffer and let it be the “first rideable underwater mob” but i think it shouldn’t be classed as underwater because it’s egg is underwater and it hatches on ground.
I don't think it would be the first underwater mobs, we have a few already. Like the drowned and the squid, guardians, fish, pufferfish and dolphins. Also sea turtles if you count them (since they still hatch on land but irl they are sea creatures)

I am practically 100% sure the Sniffer is gonna win, and I understand why. It has the most going for it, basically to the point where it's just unfair of the other mobs. New plants, lore, possibly rideable in water, new mechanics.
I wish there was as much stuff to the other ones, I really like to concept of the Rascal, however it is not done justice. It could be a cool way to make mining more fun, especially for single player, but if it only gives some enchanted iron tools and ores it's just not worth it. If what it gave you was unique, unobtainable in any other way, maybe was mysterious in one way or another, it would gain so much value as a mob.
But honestly, I'm fine with the Sniffer winning, it's a really nice and cute mob!
Tuff Golem: Slightly better Item Frame/Armor Stand. It COULD (probably won't) come with hats.
Rascal: Hide and seek doesn't seem very appealing for Minecraft, and loot doesn't seem good (it could be randomized though). It COULD possibly drop a bundle or backpack of some sort.
Sniffer: A medium-large aquatic mob that WILL come with new seeds and plant types which are useful for most players at any stage of the game.

@@Deleralia I would definitely vote for it if we knew what it can drop. The only reason why people are voting for the Sniffer is because for some reason, it had the most information in the trailer. The other two mobs are mostly speculation which is why people are voting for the "safer" option.
Sniffer is only giving decorative plants, so it wouldn't really be considered useful unless you're a builder dedicated to survival

Watching this im tied between the sniffer and the rascal
I want the sniffer because i want new plants but i also want the rascal cuz i'd feel embarrassed admitting how many times i'd be stuck in a cave unable to get out for a long time cuz my pickaxe would break (I use to bring only 1 or 2 depending on how degraded the first one is but now i bring 3 with me) and playing a game of hide and seek and getting something like a pickaxe would really help if i'd be in that situation again

@@Deleralia Do you know why the sniffer is popular? Because it brings more lore to the game. I want to see Matpat do a game theory. And that's not the only reason. It's cute. That is clear enough. And, it will bring more plants to the game. There are several different plants used for several different things. Think of golden apples, chorus fruit, and even regular fruit. If you've ever played Pam's harvestcraft you'd know just how fun it is to make foods. Besides, the rascal might be nice for the first 30 minutes of gameplay but once you have your own enchanting table, it becomes useless. And even then, when thinking about the pixie from the familiar mod, you'll see just how stupidly hard it is to find things using sound alone. Plus, sound isn't a great mechanic for those who may be playing without headphones, or are deaf. Minecraft tries to make things fun for people with disabilities and without. And the golem thing is just plain dumb.we have plenty of other ways to display things and it's it's like l be playing on servers all the time. Usually, I don't pay on servers at all. They are for multi-player use so many people can see you brag about your things.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much but the sniffer is described as an "ancient" mob and the word ancient is often used in video games to describe something that used to be in the game. This obviously wouldn't apply to the sniffer itself but I could totally see them finding some long missed "ancient" flowers, ie the rose.

Imagine if you die to creepers, fall deep or in lava.. or etc. while trying to seek the Rascal and lose your hardcore world or all the stuff you found in the cave xD
Mineshafts also have too much of dead ends and a weird generation that makes me kinda question how this area would fit for hide and seek without any issues.
Yeah, for this to work I feel as though they would need to rework the generation for mineshafts, it doesn't seem like it would be very easy after the caves and cliffs update and imagine chasing it for so long only to get some very mediocre loot as well because I'm sure not all items it gathers are guaranteed to be good or even decent at that

I’m definitely voting for the rascal. The other mobs are cool and all but I just don’t think that they could help you in Minecraft. The sniffer gives you seeds and the tuff golem displays stuff. I think we don’t need more flowers I think we have enough and why make a tuff golem when you can make an item frame. The rascal actually helps the players making it the best in my opinion.
Yeah people be complaining about rascal for not know what items you could get but no saying anything about what seeds the sniffer will give you
Yeah it’s really stupid
Fun fact: Sniffer has 4 legs, not 12 because if you look at it’s walking animation it walks with 2 legs on each side.
But when it’s crouching you see 3 legs on the side
It's walking animation may only show 4 legs however it's resting animation shows 12 as well as it's idle animation, it's likely the extra two legs got added on after the sprite and animation for it's walking was already made or it was hard to animate in this style so they left them out. It's also possible that walking with 6 legs may have made the sprite look very weird so they had to remove them so it didn't look unnatural

@@im_a_cupp1494 they clearly said "some new plants" and i'm pretty sure that the plant shown in the video is just representation of a generic plant, the sniffer is the best mob so far, it's gonna be the first dinosaur mob borught to minecraft with a cute mechanic, a giant version of himself and a couple of new plants, the rascal can only give some random items if you find it, mostly useless in the end game phase, and the tuff golem, yes, it's indeed cute but it's just a moving item frame ^^"

The sniffer definitely has my attention so far. Its overall cute, so it has my vote. Others are pretty much unnecessary imo

@@penguin15 the tuff golem isn’t most likely related to redstone. Copper makes sense cause irl copper is electric but tuff isn’t. They didn’t even say anything about the redstone.
Tuff golem would add a use for those useless tuff blockes in your inventory! Plus we get a new golem so yk my vote! ;)
the rascal helps alot if your pickaxe breaks, which is why i want it in the game
I'm personally rooting for the Rascal, because since the 1.18 update it's not that hard to get down to deepslate level (which is where the Rascal would be spawning) so you could get special items early in the game
after endgame he will be so useless
@@Murdo_ maybe but it would still be a little bit of fun looking for the Rascal. I'm personally just rooting for the Rascal, though I wouldn't complain if the Sniffer won the vote (which I can see it probably will lol)
@@DTTheKnight I would more like to see new plants and interesting mobs than holder on things and homeless that want to play hide and seek with you (maybe they should add more details in game like blinking for mobs and sounds of nature)
