And killua did that as a thanks for pulling him out his darkness and abusive family. And Togashi has no problem with the sexuality of his characters. That is another reason why I think that he is, or was, making a development on the psychological aspect of self-acceptance with Killua. Even the concept of the nen needle on his head could be a metaphor of this concept, liberating himself of the "thoughts" of the others. Making this subject a bit obvious but not clear (yet), just give more praise to the series, making ambiguity in a loved Character and polarizing the followers of HxH.

The way Gon's hyperventilation almost immediately calms at Killua's touch is... 💥 And not to mention how Killua's hand is cast in an angelic light!! An amazing parallel to Killua's own personal remarks about how Gon is "light" to him, I'd say it's very clear the same is also true from Gon's perspective!

For Killua, who was raised in a world of darkness, gon, who is an innocent boy of much candor, inspires hope and comes off as light. He is a christ-like figure for Killua. Like a savior. Im hesitant to say that Gon is completely oblivious to the subtext of Killua's deep love for him, but perhaps he doesn't have it all together in knowing exactly why killua could see him as such a figure. And for Gon, killua is simply a boy of his age whom he really enjoys time with. He's never had a friend of his age, a brother, or any close-knit male figures in his life to grow alongside with. Gon shows that he could be rather impetuous and careless about Killua, often taking advantage of his faith and devotion to him. So there is this sort of thing going on where Gon is seen as such a light to killua, and because of killua's own innocence to such a relationship, he's often blinded by the light and sacrifices for Gon, even when Gon is careless and inconsiderate of what he is putting his friends through, which later killua would recognize as "picking up after him", and finally advocates for himself. I loved that moment. But yes, this is all just the result of two kindred souls who have a highly idealized bond.

And Togashi has no problem with the sexuality of his characters. That is another reason why I think that he is, or was, making a development on the psychological aspect of self-acceptance with Killua. Even the concept of the nen needle on his head could be a metaphor of this concept, liberating himself of the "thoughts" of the others. Making this subject a bit obvious but not clear (yet), just give more praise to the series, making ambiguity in a loved Character and polarizing the followers of HxH.

For Killua, who was raised in a world of darkness, gon, who is an innocent boy of much candor, inspires hope and comes off as light. He is a christ-like figure for Killua. Like a savior. Im hesitant to say that Gon is completely oblivious to the subtext of Killua's deep love for him, but perhaps he doesn't have it all together in knowing exactly why killua could see him as such a figure. And for Gon, killua is simply a boy of his age whom he really enjoys time with. He's never had a friend of his age, a brother, or any close-knit male figures in his life to grow alongside with. Gon shows that he could be rather impetuous and careless about Killua, often taking advantage of his faith and devotion to him. So there is this sort of thing going on where Gon is seen as such a light to killua, and because of killua's own innocence to such a relationship, he's often blinded by the light and sacrifices for Gon, even when Gon is careless and inconsiderate of what he is putting his friends through, which later killua would recognize as "picking up after him", and finally advocates for himself. I loved that moment. But yes, this is all just the result of two kindred souls who have a highly idealized bond.
