Learn German Lesson 19 - Definite articles | definitartikel
When it comes to speaking or writing German language, articles play a huge role. In Lesson 19 you will learn the 3 main articles (der, die, das) in their nominative form.
There are three genders in German, and each one of them has an article - der, die or das. These are called definite articles.
The learning objectives for this lesson are as follows:
• What is “Nominative”? (“wer?” and “was?”)
• What is substantive?
• Types of articles (definite articles, indefinite articles and negative articles)
Although there will be a short discussion on the types of articles, this video will focus on the definite articles. At the end of the video, you will find a table to help you understand what you have learned in this video. Don’t forget to note it down.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to write!

Can someone explain why use der on apfel and die on katze when we don't know their gender?Instead of using das which is the neutrum, how can you identify which noun should we use the der, die and das
Hi kindly do research on German nouns look for German with Laura. Know that in the German language each and every noun has a specific gender assigned to it accordingly. It's just grammar rules
Thanks a lot, it was the easiest way to explain the articles! Finally I got it))).

People who say German articles are difficult and complicated because of those 3 articles don't know Italian. The Italian language has 8 different articles, depending on word gender, plural or singular and the letter a word starts with.
☹️
German actually has 6 articles because of cases

Thanks a lot
No its wrong im serious
I have a question. In the senetnce "Die Kinder spielen" why you didn't add sein and added in "Die Bucher sind bunt".
Please anyone who can help.
Die Kinder spielen - The children are playing
The Bücher sind bunt - the books are colourful
In German "sein" - is/are/to be
spielen - to play / are playing

I don't get why Der Apfel and Das Haus. I would assume that Haus and Apfel are both things and both shall have DAS in front?
Yes, that’s exactly what I think about those two words. Both Appel and house are things. Also, I don’t understand why she said“Das baby” because baby is Not a thing.
How to identify the article for different things?.. how can we identify different things or places or fruits or vegetables as masculine or feminine or neutral?
you have to learn them

Hallo frau, I have some doubt.
That, here it is written "Der Apfel ist Rot".
And we know that Der is for masculine. So how can u use it here?
Please clear my doubt frau.
Ich verstehe die Frage nicht :(
@@LearnGermanOriginal oh.
"Der Apfel ist Rot".
"Der" = Masculine,
Aber, Apfel isn't nicht Eine Maskuline.
Apfel=Das.
Apfel=Neuter.
So, why we are using "Der" in "Apfel" ?
@@maesha250 you are wrong, Apfel is actually a masculine word. It is DER Apfel.
@@SalvatoreEscoti oh!
Thanks bro,
For clearing my doubt.
thank you спасибо дякую

But they said on April
i loved how the most repeated part is of when the women appears on the screen, holy shit !! 😂
Is it right to say, “Die Frau ist trinken Wein “
I dont understand in your next lecture in bestimmte article and unbestimmte artikel. It is quite logic.
😍😍🥰❤️😍
Can someone explain to me why the word "girl" is a neutral word and not feminine in German? Thanks in advance!
This is because gender and sex aren't always the same and the "-chen" in "Mädchen" suggests a diminutive. Most diminutives need the article "das", like "der Mann" but "das Männchen".
Mädchen comes from Maid
Der Junge Die Maid
Das Jüngchen. Das Mädchen
Da Baby
Why are we considering the baby as a neutral person?
we dont know the ginder of baby
Because we only said "baby" not considering baby girl or baby boy for now, it's like you're saying "the person", you don't know here the person is a male or female..
I am the 999th to like
Your pronunciation of "R" is false . 😒 it's German not English 😑 .

Hi i am german. The word ledig doesn't exist at all in Germany. Don't learn that. It doesn't mean single
How do you say "I'm single" in Germany then? And does leidig mean anything in Germany at all?
@@desanipt you can say "Ich bin Single". Maybe the word "ledig" exists but nobody will understand If you say that. Single is also not a real German word but you say it.
@@iqui Thanks for letting us know!
@@desanipt Hey... just for better understanding. The word "ledig" means "not married". It is used in offical application forms. In the colloquial language it is not really used.
