My grounding system was compromised in the past few months. There is a separate video about that. I use multi-band dipoles that require an antenna matching unit. On bands where the antenna matching unit is required, common mode current coming in on the shield of the coax can radiate into my shack. The antenna matching unit makes the transmitter happy, but the RF in the shack exists up to the antenna matching unit. I showed in a 2022 video how to use snap-on Mix-31 ferrite chokes to minimize the RF radiation from the coax.
During the time when my grounding system was compromised, the RF in the shack would occasionally get into the unshielded cable from my Kent TP1-B Morse key. It would cause my FTdx5000MP to get stuck in transmit. I used a shielded cable for my Bencher BY-1 key. I plugged in the BY-1 and all was well. So I ordered a shielded cable for the Kent key. In this video you will see how I connect the shielded cable to the Kent key. If you are interested in purchasing one of these cables, here is a link: Devinal 1/8 to 1/4 Stereo Cable,... www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3QLT2B3?...

Is one for dit, one for dah and one for ground? I don't see a key on net to the contacts, do you have to have a manual or is that some kind of a standard connection layout everyone uses?

I connect the shield to the common connection. The other wires are for dit and dah. If you’re left-handed, reverse them from the way I show in this video.
