    One thing with those shallow water lens or most amber style lens in general is that during the fall when the leaves are changing. It is absolutely the lens to have. The amber hue goes well with the fall colors and they truly make everything just absolutely pop hard.

    Hi, I’m looking to buy the deep water lens for casual use - sunny days, driving etc - I just love the look and colour of the lens!
    My favourite lens are the ones that give that kind of retro amber hue. Makes driving clearer and just love the look and feel. Does deep water do this?
    Thanks so much for an awesome video! Super jealous… From the currently very rainy UK !

    I'm trying to decide which lens would be better suited for a canoe (non-fishing) trip down a river. The depth varies, and the week-long trip is actually about 50/50 lake and river. I'm looking for assistance in spotting rocks in the shallow sections so I can steer around them. For that purpose, the shallow water lens seems to make sense. But, I'm not fishing at all, and I feel like I would enjoy the colors of the deep water lens better on a general day-to-day basis. Your thoughts? Is a copper base lens still nice to wear when off the river? My local sunglasses store didn't have any in stock to try out.

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Kyle! We would go with PRIZNM Deep Water Polarized if you are out in the sun a lot and want maximum protection. Both lenses provide superior contrast and the glare reduction and contrast of PRIZM Deep Water should still help you spot rocks beneath the surface of the water. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the video! I live on the ocean, but do a lot of fishing in shallower water too (about 50/50). Will the deep water lens work in shallow water? Will the shallow water be protective enough for ocean glare?

      Costa Copper base lens tint performs decently well in cloudier conditions. The Green mirror will help a bit more for bright sunnny days. If you're particulary light sensitive then try out the bronze+green mirror.

      @sportrxeyewear  Před 4 lety

      Hi Bryce! Either option will help you see through the water but since pools are not too deep we would recommend PRIZM Shallow Water! But if you live in a super sunny environment then Deep Water may be the way to go because it is a slightly darker lens. .

    Another great review, great info!
    I noticed the Oakley Deep Water is a pain to keep finger prints off of and want to get your opinion. I of course don’t handle my glasses by the lens but find to even get a smudge off you have to work harder than normal and they def. show up in no time. I have the trail non polarized and have never had an issue. Is this common with the polarized deep/shallow water?

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi Brian! Thanks for the love! This is not an issue we hear about often. Fingerprints may be a bit more noticeable because it is a darker tint lens. Also, anything that increases the oils on your skin such as lotion/sunscreen may make the fingerprints more obvious. We always recommend using the microfiber cloth that comes with your sunglasses to clean your lens. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you out with!

      @sportrxeyewear  Před 5 lety +2

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před 4 lety

      Hi Henry, I think either one of these lenses would work just fine and I may suggest Deep Water if you are in a bright environment the majority of the time since it is a bit darker than Shallow Water. One thing to keep in mind is that the polarized filter on the lens has tendency to make screens/gauges difficult to read but on the flip side it gives you great glare protection on the water and road which is essential. I hope this helps but if you want more feedback to help you find the most suitable lens for your needs you can always contact one of our certified opticians on the phones or via live chat here: www.sportrx.com/contact

    Thanks for the video. Have a question about the shallow water lens. I’ve owned the deep water lens until losing them to a kiteboarding fall. I’m considering trying out the shallow water lens for kiteboarding but the main purpose would be for spotting aquatic life up close. Fish, jellyfish, turtles etc. that we can kite by pretty often. Without endangering them, they’re usually a couple meters away. I’m in Southeast Asia in water that closer to shore has a greener tone than deep blue water. If we’re usually kiting within 300 meters of shore, at most ~500m, would the shallow lens be better to view and enjoy the aquatic life as we surf by?

Comparatively, The Shallow Water Iridium uses a Bronze base tint and has a VLT of 21%, which is suited more to medium light exposure. If you plan to do some near shore or freshwater fishing, you would likely want to opt for the Shallow Iridium polarized lens over the Jade.

    • @sportrxeyewear
      @sportrxeyewear  Před 4 lety

      Hi Martin! It really depends on what activities you will be using them for. PRIZM Shallow Water Polarized can be used for snow but some people prefer a non-polarized lens in the snow because if you are out skiing or snowboarding a non-polar lens will help you better spot the glare from ice on the slopes. However, a polarized lens can be used in the snow and it will offer maximum glare protection. Oakley has PRIZM Snow lenses specifically designed for the snow which you can check out here: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-snow-lenses-guide/ And they just started putting these lenses in some of their top sunglass styles which you can see here: www.sportrx.com/blog/best-oakley-sunglasses-for-skiing/

      Yes! That is exactly what the lenses are made for.

    Hi guys and thanks for this technical an deteiled video 👍🏻
    A question and help from you :
    My girlfriend a few days ago have gift me the radar ev path shallow water polarized... i'm a fisher and basically i practice on the river mouth on the beach, another kind of fishing tecnique even in the sand and sometimes a river spots.
    In the first time that i've dress this glasses the problem was, as you tell in the video, the powerfull pump of all colours and for me this excessive intense pink/copper background presents in all the eye view.
    For my curiosity I've tried the deep water lens on a shop and this one is too similar than a classical sun glasses lens... more relaxing and tipical from a pink/kopper background lens.
    My main question is :
    For my kind of fishing in shallow water i need to get used to the pink lens but specificly for the spots of shallow water, or even a deep water lens can satisfy myself but whitout the pink background?
    For me is the first time with a tecnical sun glasses and i don't want to wrong in the choose...
    Thanks and sorry for my english...
    I write from italy...😉🤣🤣🤣

      Hello Peppe! Thanks for reaching out! The rose/copper color you are seeing is what really delivers that contrast boost and allows you to pick up on all the details in your environment. PRIZM Shallow Water has more of a copper base and is a lighter tint than PRIZM Deep Water. Deep Water has a rose base and is a darker tint. If you can, try adjusting to PRIZM Shallow Water because this lens was specifically designed for the type of fishing that you do. However, if it is still hard to adjust to, PRIZM Deep Water will still work! Hope this helps!
