I wish amps like this existed when I was starting out playing, so cool
thats why i start right now 🤭
No shit. I would have killed to only spend $200 bucks on a decent amp head in the 90s as a fast food working teenager.
This amp is straight up a killer hidden in a little box.
Also, huge thanks Ola, I always wondered how scat porn would sound on Hesu 4x12 cabinet
It actually sounds magical. Don't ask how I know....
beautiful comment
what even is that metaphor
@@kjl3080 no metaphor...scat porn sounds awesome thru a cab you should try it
@@kjl3080 what is grammar your even
Ola was really enjoying playing At The Gates riffs
Who doesn't 😁
@@Lampovique Ik I can't get enough of At The Gates
@@ethandonston517 can you please tell me the band of the song ?
@@prepereuranus9184 Bro, At the Gates IS a band. Ola played the songs "Blinded by Fear" and "Cold." Hurry up and listen to these guys you're missing out. :)
@@prepereuranus9184 Btw, At The Gates is famous for using an Boss HM2. That's how I found out about them.
These Joyo amps aren't "relatively" cheap, they're at downright giveaway prices. Wish they were around when I started my collection. 👍😍🇦🇺
The greatest feature for me is the Bluetooth capability for practice. Perfect for learning how to play songs in tempo, and great if you're following along with a lesson video while playing with headphones on.
Joyo make some seriously good gear for the price. Always seriously impressed
Yes, but it is always "for that price" and won't satisfy in the end.
@@iloveitall Its perfect for people wanting to dabble in different sounds. I dont play much metal, but when I want to this amp scratches that itch pretty well.
@@iloveitall As a practice or rehearsal amp it's perfect, even gig if you're very poor and/or a beginner.
think that this compete with line 6 spyder and marshall code type of amp for the price.
I wish I had this type of amp in my teens.
@@4rchfi3nd_4ct1ve i think people underestimate what you need to gig. And this is not a beginner amp, by any means. Most venues just mic up the amp and send it through the PA anyways so you could realistically get away with a combo.
These are Joyos equivalent to an Orange Micro Dark, Micro Terror, etc. They are certainly loud enough to play in a decent sized venue, because any decent sized venue will probably have a PA.
I’d say with a good EQ peda and OD to clean it up a little bit, maybe a compressor if that’s your thing, you’d have a super solid sounding budget live rig, as long as you have a good cab to accompany it.
(also, i see live bands all the time that have the shittiest live tones, their guitars are so buried you cant even hear what they’re playing. They’re running 6505’s, btw. Sometimes it’s about the engineer, not the gear. One of the best tones i’ve heard live was a local metal band running through an orange micro dark -> harley benton cab. Sounded fucking great in the room, just like every other band that night. Needless to say the engineer kicks ass)
@@iloveitall Regardless of the price, it does sound really good.
I don't have this particular amp, but I do own and use the Joyo Preamp House pedal, which also simulates 2 M.B. amps - and it does so admirably...
Oh it CHUGGED!!.. and it chugged nicely 👌🏻🔥
Demoing chugging with "Cold" by At The Gates is an instant upvote. This riff is perfect.
I feel like one of these with a 6-band EQ in the loop would be the perfect Boogie on a Budget.
As an owner of one of these, it is most certainly the best budget amp for a bedroom riff ninja or small home studio people
Since you don't have much money, do you connect it to a small Bluetooth speaker or something like that?
I would like to have a good tube sound but without having to buy one of those huge amps you usually see
@@alexdenton6586bold of you to presume I don't have much money. I'm just smart enough not to dump £1000+ into an amp that's never going to be on a stage, because I have a job that demands my attention.
Its connected to a Hesu cab, with a Dunn Effects Death Knob and a Airis Savage drive, and it rips. 👍
I still have the first version of this little amp, for the money it was perfect for me as a new player. I've upgraded since, but I might try the version 2. Cheers!
Keep the V1 unless you need to switch channels
What do you use now?
@@pablobonifacio8755 EVH 50w stealth, but I keep the zombie around cause it sounds good, and I can use it as a backup
@@ja765mes how does it compare?
Ive used the zombie to re-amp guitar tracks at home. Incredibly handy little box!
I waited so long for this version 2 video. I bought this amp for $125, sounds like a beast. 😁🤘🏻
where'd you get it for so cheap?
I am also curious, thats a steal
@@arbyscurlyfries9490 maybe the seller was was in need of cash thats why he sold me cheap, he was asking $150 to which i bargained at $125.
There 189 new
Are these quiet enough for apartment use?
That amp sounds killer! i've got a joyo jackman and i love it, with the metal zone i can have some kind of classic metal vibe but this joyo Zombie II sounds amazing
those mini amps kick ass ....I bought mine after your test with the first one ...it sounds like a large tube amp. So impressed.
Love the ATG riffs. Both guitar and amp are incredible. 👌
Nice, just ordered one. Thanks for the heads up, looks like a killer little amp
Sounds pretty good, unique. I can see it being used as a secret sauce blended in with some other amps.
Definitely, sometimes I want a more mesa boogie sounding tone with my marshall but I don't really like amp sims, definitely want to buy one of these for that sake
im in love with this solar....its perfection
Last year in a pinch I once used my original Zombie with a cheap 2x12 cab at an open air gig and it still sounded sick. It's a surprising mini amp for sure! Especially for the price.
One of the best little amps I ever bought ❤️ they actually are sick
I’ve had this guy for a few months now and it’s killer for the price and since I’m now moving away from combo amps it’s just perfect
Awesome demo, ola. 😎🤘🏻🎸 these amps from joyo sounds amazing. This one sounds absolutely killer. I Also like how the joyo vivo sounds. And I was thinking about getting one too.
Damn that sounds good! Better that it sounds like a boosted rectifier right out of the box!
Joyo mjolnir is pretty damn 🔥 too. I wish they made 100w all tube zombie and mjolnirs.
Mjolnir is the real thing, those bantamps are getting most of their magic from op-amps.
I’ve had this one for a few months now, together with a harley benton 2x12 and a Mooer GE200 for effects, works great!
Bang for the buck
The guitar cabinet background looks awesome with these video segments OLA! \m/
These little things are great. Of all the amps I've bought and moved on I'll keep the zombie forever. Fantastic tone for the money and tiny footprint.
I got it a month ago. Sounds absolutely amazing. I used it for recording my music at home through Two-Notes CAB M+.
One note about the Bluetooth feature. Yeah, it sounds like shit through a cab, but when you have headphones plugged in it actually sounds pretty decent, perfect for practicing to songs.
One of the best budget practice amps out there IMO! I have one & I love it!🎸🤘🏻🌋
Always enjoy your videos, "will it chug?" is how I select my beer! Continued success to you.
I picked this up because of your review Ola. I am blown away by its tone and VOLUME! I've got it pushing a 4x10 Marshall. I'm thinking about trying the JACKMAN-II as well.
Is his volume enough to rehearse with a very strong drummer in a heavy style?
It's been described as a Dual Rectifier that's been tightened up.
C’mon, they ain’t all that and does not stand up next to a dual rectifier unless you’re tone deaf
@@tommilitello198 well obviously not. You'd be comparing 100 watt all tube amp to a mostly solid state 20 watt amp that has a single 12ax7 which let's be honest definitely isn't what's giving it all this gain. just coloring it. not even a fair comparison lol
@@tommilitello198 mans is getting offended about his precious rectifier
@@harls7317 lmao I don’t have one
I have Firebrand and Meteor, both first versions without footswitch. These little amps sounds really cool.
Amp sounds great, Guitar is awesome. Baritone guitars are so inspiring.
I like that you don't care if we use your affiliate link or not. Gotta admire the self sufficiency
Ola sacrificed monetization for the bros.. a true hero
Wow that is amazing sound for little lunch box style amp.... I'm impressed!!!
I have the original version. Love the hell out of it. The clean channel is a great pedal platform and the dirty channel slaps with a tubescreamer. Works real nice with my highly down tuned guitars. Sounds really good with my cheap Laney Cub 2x12 cab. Mine isn't noisy like I've seen other people say either.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who has used the Laney Cub Cab. Absolutely slaps for a budget cab.
@@ryanmaggard6548 such an underrated cab. I love the sound of it. Got it barely used for $100 on a whim, was an absolute steal.
Same here, I’m still using the original version. The only thing that would make this thing perfect is if it has a proper eq.
@@ahmadfarisrosli7597 honestly, between the tone knob on the amp and the tone knob on my Plumes, it gets me right where I want to be, but that probably comes down to my guitars, picking style and tunings.
Buying an eq pedal might be a great investment for this amp as well. Try to slam it into the front or put it in the fx loop.
Just when I’d thought I’ve heard of them all. Thanks for sharing this this Buffalo I’m in the market for a cheap 2x12 def will check this out. Oh and I’ve got the original zombie as well killer amp love it.
This amp is badass. I have a cheap kokko overdrive, rawlings noise gate, and a BBE mini stomp going threw in. Have a dimebucker in my H1000 and holy shit. It woke this amp up. I don't play as often as I used to but this set up is perfect 👌
Has been my goto amp since last year. Sounds killer in my studio plugged into 2 4x12 cabs. It actually gets more use than my valve marshall and fender amps. Big bang for your buck, monster in a lunchbox. Cheers.
I’ve got one of these I’ve been waiting for this for so long!!!
Holy hell, that little thing sounds pretty rad.
It sounds more like a Sunn Model T but without extended bottom end.
Makes me want to get this and run it through the Return of a bass amplifier.
That things sounds awesome. I'm buying one ! Maybe one if their larger ones as well.
I’ve been waiting for this one!!
I've had this in my amazon basket for a few days, I love budget gear.
I want one for my bedroom now! That sounds pretty awesome!
I have this amp running into a mesa os 4x12. It sounds killer
Whoa, that sounds amazing.
Ola, you make some of the best guitar/gear videos on CZcams. Keep it up man! I had an idea for “Will It Chug?” you gotta try out the Orange TH30H tube amp. Its an insane little 30 watt amp that has more distortion that most amps ive ever heard ever! And its scoop is awesome! Seriously, gotta check it out. Have a good one my friend.
Just F-ing bought one. Cannot wait to try it out. ❤
Just ordered mine today. This video sealed the deal for me. Cant wait to use it 🤘
This little amp head is awesome, I put a Joyo Vintage overdrive pedal in front of it for a boost. The tones im getting are disgustingly good for the amount of money spent.
I ordered it today and will test it live on stage on Sunday. I am excited. 🤘
I made a speaker cabinet and put a celestion speaker in it, then finally bought the joyo zombie 2 tube amp and I'm telling you this amp is loud. Like seriously sounds soo good and it's not a joke for its size it screams!! It shakes the whole garage. I recommend.
Brrrrrrrrring the chug!!!
That's a potent little beastie...
Man I have been waiting for this for sooo long
I have one of their Firebrands, which is an engl clone. I LOVE it.
So much power in this little box
Great review. I never heard of them but now considering buying both the Zombie and Jackman to run them in parallel trough my pedalboard with an A/B switch.
Thumbs up for the shirt! That thing sounds pretty good with your guitar, crazy.
That’s one of those amps where you shouldn’t be afraid to have that crusty top end cause it sounds so awesome
It sure does!! I bought this last year. Tune down to C and enjoy.
I´ll DEFINITLY go after this one. Thanks for the vid.
Ola makes everything sound good. I still think my phone some how does the same. Some of these minis are not bad!
Small but lethal
Love the new amp wall Ola!!
3:51 At The Gates - Blinded By Fear gj!
Sick ATG jam at the end!
This thing with a ts and a cheap EQ in the loop and it really sounds killer.
6:00 A highlight in the video (and Olas youtube career) for sure.
I have this one!! Love it
I picked up a Joyo Bantamp Zombie and VIVO, Diezel Micro, and Orange Micro Dark ... none chugged as hard as a $35 Caline Tantrum and a $25 Behringer EQ through the front of a solid state amp.
How would you rank those options because I am interested in all of them
I'm definitely buy one awesome!
Ola! Love your work! Would LOVE to see you try out the JOYO DARK FLAME, which is supposedly a clone of the REVV G3 pedal, so that would be an amazing comparison to watch as well! Hope you’re well!
Nice video, Ola! You should do a review/will it chug with the Joyo Bantamp Jackman. I've curious for a long about "how metal" can it goes!
Been eyeballing one of these, the Tweedy because of my playing style, but damn that little bugger your demoing is narly! 👍👍
Wow ... that's a little beast. Sounds awesome value for money for sure. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
That baritone looks exactly like my Ben burnley baritone! Man now I want the solar baritone too.
Sounds good, I’m interested to see this getting used as a preamp into a bigger power amp or a valve fx return..great vid man
Need to put it in the loop of a Meteor.
And yes, theres a couple videos on how to bypass the power amp and use it as a preamp.
its a great wee amp quite Dark so expect to push that tone knob a bit more than normal the clean channel is surprisingly good takes pedals beautifully. Best buy I have made in years
I have the Jackman II, which is a JCM 800 clone, and the Meteor II, a Jim Root mod Orange Rockerverb, and they sound amazing. They don't have as much gain as the Zombie, but I actually like having to boost an amp, as I think it sounds better both in the room and in the mix. What you have going there, the Zombie II almost sounds like a Dual Rec mixed with something, maybe a VH4 or a 5150/6505 or a Soldano or something. Other people have reviewed it and said that the clean channel sounds halfway between the original Mesa and a 6505, but it has the clarity and chimy high end of the earlier revisions, or maybe an SLO. I still prefer british voiced amps, so...
I have this amp. It needs an eq in the loop to sound mesa boogie. Boss ge7. Nails the Metallica justice tone.
I got a Peavey Vypyr 30 I got to get a Boss GE7 or a Master Effects parametric eq to get the And Justice For All tone.
Badass little amp there !!!
Just bought ;) Along with a used but nearly mint-condition 6505+ ... I am so happy!
Love mine with G12H30s to tame some of the woolly sound. Such a fun and cheap little toy.
By Billy Gibbons beard, that thing’s incredible. My VIP gave out a long time ago and I switched to acoustic in the meantime. Looks like I found my way back into metal.
I got the first one wired up to a Marshall 4x12 and damn for the price it's pretty damn decent
This video is awesome and so is that Solar! I'm Dime ML guy and I don't like Les Paul or T..types but the Solar versions are amazing and I would totally get those🤘🏿😈!
I have the zombie 1. Its actually fun to play. I use the blue tooth for backing tracks more than anything. Not bad for the price.
I have this one and the Jackman II. The Jackman II is lower gain than the Zombie II bit it will definitely chug like a mofo with a SD-1 in front of it. I bought the Jackman II because the Zombie II screeches if you put a fuzz on the gain channel because there is so much gain. I prefer a bit of amp gain with a fuzz rather than just clean but the Zombie II doesn't have a low gain setting besides the clean channel
Hey Ola, can you maybe do a review on the cheapest 4x12 cab u can find?
🎸🔥🤘🤘🎸🎶 Big hug from Brazill!!
I have one and love it
Sounds more of a mt15 to my ear😃 man I love it, need more affordable metal gear coming from Joyo
amazing amp,need it!
The Joyo Zombie 2 makes me wanna boogie on a mesa.
3:50 hell yeah, now we're talking! I effing love the newer At the Gates stuff and use it to learn rhythm guitar as well.
damn Ola, you are the best!
Damn this sounds incredible for the price
badass tone
