I'm just starting football and this helped me a lot

Me toođđ
Me too man
Same
Yea same Iâve been playing football with friends lately
I have a dad who is VERY big into football and an older brother who plays varsity. It wasnât til this highschool season that I started caring about football and I just recently figured out how it actually works. This has helped so much
Glad it helped! Let us knw if you have any questions!
know*
I've gone to every game this year for my high school since I'm part of the film crew and wanted to go support them..... I have no clue what actually happens in the games
We hope our videos can help! Happy to answer any questions you may have!
@@LearnFootballWithvIQtory did you mention witch position goes against each position
@@metalica2274 itâs not always necessarily going against each position. It depends on the play. Some plays may have the Line backers blitzing the A gap to sack the QB or have them at the B gap or just back to get the running back. Or have DBâs not doing man to man, etc. It really just all depends
I know this is supposed to be just the basics but you missed two positions, TE and FB. Honestly, FB isn't that important as it's not used very often but I would have recommended adding in the TE as it's used in almost every play.
Exactly!! I was just about to comment on what about those positions đ
Check his pinned comment
what does a TE do
Saw another video that didn't cover slot recievers at all. So do teams generaly run a TE/FB combo and some run two SR?
Thank you so much bro! đ
Edit: just wanted to say how grateful this guy is, heâs literally hearting comments after 3 years!
Hey. I already know a lot about football before even watching this video but I appreciate you trying to teach others about the game. Some things you missed out are the tight end which is a combo of a blocker and receiver. on running plays you could have 2 to help block and on passing plays usually 1 but rarely youll have 2 to make the defense think its going to be a run Also you missed on the fullback which is key for running plays to succeed. I know its pretty complex but I think you can do it in a more simple way then I can. Thanks for teaching kids around the world
I agree with everything you said. Do you think it's fair to say, the dual TEs are used more in the passing game these days than they were in the past? When New England was doing it with Gronk and Hernandez it was very effective. That was a hell of a pair of TEs on the field at the same time. When Gronk was at his peak, he was the best TE I have ever seen play.
He mentioned running backs which includes the fullback but yeah he could've explained the tight end a bit better
I was just about to ask that. Thanks.
I already knew about football, but now that my close friends and stuff are playing, I gotta be an expert.
safeties?
Iâm QB for my 7th grade team. I know the basics but I wanted to make sure that I fully understood so I could play the game and not worry abt messing up. Thanks!
As a QB for my 7th grade team (More of a club, we don't compete) I knew nothing about football before (A friend of mine roped me in) and everyone throwing around foreign terms made me feel really stupid and out of place. I'm now studying football so I don't look like a moron.
@@han-huo Iâm not even trying to hate but how are you qb and donât know anything
@@han-huo how did you get chosen as QB then??
@@readdeadbruhmoments3136 Our school is not very athletic, there was no one else to choose over me lol
@@eggrolledison5687 They had no other options lmao
My boys started football for the first time 6 wks ago and I've been searching for something that just taught basics and positions in plain English. You made the most sense!!
Thank you!
Glad it could help!
@@LearnFootballWithvIQtory You forgot about TE and fullback
This is a confusing sport but I kinda get it
Swoup Xtentions damn thatâs harsh đ
I do go outside Iâm from India Ik my sport itâs called cricket I just donât know American football that well you didnât have to be rude

I really want to do football but I didnât know much about positions. This helped me a lot thanks
Simple and straight to the point đ
thanks a lot, this has helped me get on my feet to start playing football
Great video! Me and brothers are starting football this is a huge help for us!
Think of it like capture-the-flag but with chess pieces, and similar rules for each piece's / players movement.
Quarterback = King. Slowest, but most important. Gets the ball first on most offensives play.
Running Back = Queen. *Should* the games most utility player. Starts each play usually near QB / King.
Offensive Line = Pawns. Great big giant pawns, but they don't move forward much, not fast at all, and fall over often.
Receivers = Weaponry: Castel, Knight, Bishop. There are names like "Slot," "Wide-out," "Split End," and Tight Ends, but they usually run really fast and can jump high and catch the ball well.
I like it!
thank you so much this helps a lot with understanding the rules and how it's set up
Thank you! My son started playing football as a wide receiver. I wanted to have a better understanding of his position and how it relates to the others.
Glad it helped! Hope he does well! đ
For offense you forgot the Tight end and fullback
Alex Chepi yeah i was so confused when he didnt say fullback
What's a full backs role and would they replace?
@@glennmcdonald4084 a full back is the same as a Running Back. If there are 2 RBs on the field they're technically a Halfback and a Fullback. Just think of Half- and Fullbacks as Running backs, less complicated :)
@@Catchphrase89 Thanks :)
@@glennmcdonald4084 actually fullbacks have a big use. They arent really running backs as they dont get the ball much but more they block for the running back. They would usually replace a slot receiver because when you are running the ball there isnt a need for a slot receiver. They are in front of the running back so if the offensive line fails to guard properly. you have back up.
Brilliant summary thank you for that.
This is going to help me out a lot thank you so much â€ïž
Thank you this helped major. Just got into American football heavy last year and this really summed it up for me! Thumbs up for sure đđŒ
Thank you so much!
This is very helpful to understand football as a sidle line cheerleader
Im a kicker looking to play other positions next year this was perfect thank you
Thank you very much â€
this is so helpful thank you so much I now know what they are saying in games
can you make a video on what requirements each position has phisically?
And what does the tight end do?
The Tight End is a hybrid between an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. They are used to block as well as catch passes.
Exactly. I was wondering if they would be in the OL or WR group.
Typically they line up with the offensive linemen but will stay open to catch the ball
Thank you this helps me a lot!
dude thank you ! this really helps
This is going to help a lot
Great video. That said I did not see any mention of a tight end or full back.. The tide in position identity position is arguably one of the most important positions. They're usually used in almost every play and have a very important job. Anyway, again great video and this will be a great video to help my boys learn the sport.
Nothing can be clearer. Great diagrams, real images, and to-the-point information. Excellent job.
Thank you Ruben!
Iâm a freshman in high school and i wanted to try food all but the names weâre really confusing for me and I couldnât get it even with my older brother (a soft more in high school) but this video really helped and I think I understand a lot better now thank you
Glad it helped! Good luck this year!
Thank you so much man this filled my brain with more knowledge of the positions, now I just need to learn the names of certain plays and routes đ

I just like how the word Quarterback sounds and iâm finally about to discover what it actually means.
lol đ€Ł what country are you from
This is cool. So is a tight end a slot receiver? Hadnât heard that term before. Great video, probably simple to some, but I never understood the defensive positions. Hope there is another video on types of lineups for pass play or run play.
Thx
Thank
Video verygood

nice vid
Just started playing madden and im not from US but i want to learn about the sports. Thanks!
You certainly scored a touchdown with this video.
Great job!
Thank you Jason!
my teacher linked this vid for a school assignment
same
This video is very simplistic in the positions and descriptions Running back is a general description. The specific position names are halfback and fullback. The halfback is the primary running back and is the one described here. The fullback is usually somewhere in front of the halfback and is used mainly for blocking, but will on occasion, get the ball to run with it. There's no mention of tight ends here. I guess that's too complicated to talk about in this video as it is a hybrid position of blocker/receiver.
Thank you so much Iâm very new to this game but I do quite enjoy it please could you explain what is secondary is
Secondary and "defensive backs" are the same thing. The cornerbacks, and safety positions are often referred to as the "secondary"
Iâm going to tryout for 7th grade football next year but idk anything and I really want to join football. This helped me a lot and I still have a lot of time left to practice throwing the balls and catching them
Good luck!
Do you have a more in depth review with tight ends, different DBs, difference between guards and tackles etc
Yes. Im also waiting for TE. they are the most versatile in offense.
