This year's Simple Things festival was (we're happy to say) an unmitigated success. The weekend saw sets from a wide spectrum of bands and DJs and set Bristol's city centre ablaze with energy and life. We teamed up with our good friends at Bad to produce a series of live videos on the day and we're proud to share them with you here on CRACK TV.
This second instalment is a set of haunting post-rock from Glasgow luminaries Mogwai. This year, we had the pleasure of seeing them headling our main stage in Colston Hall and, suffice to say, it was nothing short of mesmerising.
Check out Mogwai's full set from 2014's Simple Things Festival right now on CRACK TV.

One of my favourite memories of any gig. Saw it with a friend who, not 6 months later, passed away unexpectedly. This was his first Mogwai gig and he was immediately, keenly obsessed with Rave Tapes. The number of bricks he shat during 'Mogwai Fear Satan' could've built another Colston Hall. Thanks, Mogwai, for this music. And thanks, too, to Simple Things and Crack for having this saved online for me to revisit 6+ years later.
Love this comment, though sorry about your friend. It must’ve been so fun to watch this show through your friends eyes. Long may Mogwai ride, cheers👊🏻
Best live Mogwai on CZcams by far
Was at this gig and it was incredible, one of the best Mogwai live shows I've seen, (seen them more times than I can remember!) absolutely loved stumbling on this one, amazing show, the simple things festivals were amazing, hope that the Crack guys are planning to resurrect this fest when the world returns to some semblance of normality! Shit I miss live music so much :-( thanks for sharing!
What a great transition from remurdered to we're no here. Wish they did that when they came to Melbourne. They look like they were loving it.
Have seen Mogwai a bunch of times. Have varied from decent to amazing but this utterly destroyed me and completely and absolutely blew me away. Easily the gig of the year and as close to transcendental as you can get.
This performance was gig of the year for me!
Great opening track love Mogwai!!
so damn good
nothing like a mogwai gig

Never eared anything so fantastic !!
Great band. I'm sad John has parted ways with Mogwai. I wish him luck.
Great, great, GREAT!
mogwai live experience is living proof for me that corporeal syntax IS mutable. The mixing levels/audio experience of a youtube video can no way come near to the POWERFUL ECSTASY of Being in the crowd yourself, and that makes sense to me because how can you encapsulate the experience of gazing upon a phoenix in the presence of angels in a youtube video?
Totalmente de acuerdo, lo sientes en tu corazón
ex cowboy has to be the perfect symbiosis between silence and noise.
This is the best version of Ex-Cowboy I've heard.
Mogwai + Sleep
+juan manuel aburto zawadzky Mogwai + Sleep = ???
+Scott Mulhern perfection
Too bad the levels on the different instruments are totally shit. Good show though!
Markus Andersson to be honest this is first record when i can hear john.
Legend says Satan himself couldn't handle the noise from 1:15:30
legend also has it that the Jupiter monolith received the transmission and got busy spinning out new worlds
