What is your favorite lgbt series?
The eight sense ❤
heartstopper :)
GAP the series!!!!
GAP The Series!!
KinnPorsche 💜
I like the statement of one of them, " I don't know if these shows are produced just to look good to the public or to actually spread a message about Lgbtq". This needs to be noted from. There are many shows producing Lgbtq contents because that is the trend nowadays and they just want to ride along with that fame. I hope they are creating shows to really spread awareness about stories of Lgbtq rather than on the money side
Frr
And honestly that’s what I feel is the biggest difference from Korea / the states Bc ofc in the states there are people who do it as well, but because we are “more accepting “ we get a lot of genuine media that is in support and wanting to so spread a message , while I feel like most of the Korean BLs I have watched it always makes it seem like natural & almost accepted & completely unrealistic to real life while not really having a message , and though that’s one of the reasons I love it ( getting to escape into another world where things like this are less of a debate) it also makes me kinda sad because even then Koreans weren’t able to have things like pride this year because of how their country can be & it’s just upsetting, I hope things can progress more
As far as I know, there's a big BL market in SK and Japan but its solely purpose is to portray cute or handsome guys in a romantic relationship with each other with tons of heterosexual dynamics of "dominant" and "submissive" roles. So no, many of those shows are not produced with gay men as their target audience and that's why there are tons of problematic plotlines. I remember seeing a comparison of producers selecting actors for BLs and GLs; the BL actors were asked who were the most comfortable being the 'man' or 'woman' in an upcoming series (and people wonder why so many male BL actors are actually homophobic) whereas GL actresses were asked to learn about lesbian issues and dynamics. It infuriated me to know that we, as gay men, just exist in a straight girls' fantasy heteronormative world where there's no homophobia and real life issues we actually go through. I can't even imagine how many gay Korean guys must feel knowing that they can't see themselves in those shows cuz they lack the realism and authenticity only another gay man could know about 💔
It just feels so insincere to have m/m romance dramas when I can't name a single famous LGBT couple from Korea, know of only like 2-3 out gay men and women, no idol has a romantic ideal type who's a man without saying they just admire their success or something. These dramas are more to show off two cute boys getting together rather than an actual gay relationship.
It's too late... it is all already about money and fame in Asia as I see
The 8th sense and Unintentional Love Story was so good too! They leveled up the standards of BL.
The 8th since is a MASTREPIECE+!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO WATCH IT GUYSSSS
The 8th sense literally messed me up lol I binge watched it in one day then grieved over it for like 2 weeks. I wish I could forget it so I could watch it again. It was amazing
@@audmickey1307 funny how Unintentional Love Story did that to me! The 8th Sense must be binged and not waited every week.. it was so painful to wait every week.
@@wineparty5983 Thanks for recommending the 8th sense,it was amazing
@@gloriaacquaye1119 ayooooooooo IM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAAA😭💜..!!! Gloria.. tell me .. what scene was memorable for you?!! For me.. the kiss scene when JaeWon realize he needs to be with Jihyuun... :(
I highly recommend BL "The Eighth of Sense", this is not the typical cliché love drama shown in BL, it really has a deep story, an excellent soundtrack and the actors are amazing
I also recommend "Blueming"
And beautiful cinematography
The eight sense is the best series I have ever seen♥️💯💯💋💯💯♥️💋
I'm so glad you showed Kim Jiwoong! Please support him as an idol as he will debut in ZB1 in July!
5:27 Actually Jiwoong debuted as an idol in 2016 but his group disbanded, he tried many times to debut until 2020 that he started to act, so now in BOYSPLANET he got his last chance to debut with ZB1
His former band INX.
Poongduck Villa 304
could yall pretty please do a GL version but instead of koreans vs western we do a Thai version since theres a ton of thai gls released and releasing this year? :DD^^^
Oh shit really? I've always been annoyed/puzzled at the extreme difference in the amount of lesbian and homosexual series, like why so few lesbian ones?? Cool that more are getting released!
@@butyoudidnt4387 girl we asians have been lately serving the real gd lgbt series without those darn killing of the gays ending loll this is why i stopped watching western gay show cause the ending is aways depressing, like girl why must they always die????
@@venusNcold what are some? I only kno of GAP
@@venusNcold IKR WHY ARE SO MANY WESTERN LESBIAN SHOWS ABOUT CHEATING AND DYING AND IMMORAL STUFF?? why cant we get some light-hearted romance🙂
No one cares
I was low-key not expecting shameless to appear lol😂 and it kinda threw me off when she said it was called spim liss and it's about 6 daughters with an deadbeat dad when in reality it's called Shameless and its about 6 children (2 girls and 4 boys) the deadbeat dad part was correct though I'm guessing it was an translation error 😅 but if anybody is interested in the fourth clip the show is actually called shameless lol and imo it's A VERY GOOD SHOW
Shameless was originally a UK show :)
@@toni5431 the clip was from the US version
@@lilacfields I know it was the USA one. I commented in case you or others didn't know is all :)
@@toni5431 i know-

Glad they also show jiwoong acting 😭
Who else thinks they tend to pick the most explicit scenes when it comes to western series😵💫
And vice versa
I mean even the most intense scenes in K-dramas can't compare to the least intense Western scenes. It's so explicit in Hollywood that is actually anti climactic.
The New Employee should've been here! It's one of the first Korean BLs I watched that show the characters not feeling any remorse nor confusion about being gay. They're all out and navigate the dilemma of dating while being age appropriate (since the setting is at the office!)
I just finished watching it and loved it!
Can you do a lesbian version too??!😊
PLEASEEE
The last movie was lesbian.
No one wants that
@@StreamHypeBoyByNewJeans i want it
@@StreamHypeBoyByNewJeansOf that was the case there wouldn't be any likes on this comment 🙄 if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all
They said that the kissing was too intense for Korea, you should show them the kiss from Roommates of Poonduck 304 😅😅
Also Kim Jiwoong originally debuted as an idol, his group disbanded, after some time he started acting and now he's going to debut again with ZeroBaseOne (group formed from Boys Planet show)
"A shoulder to cry on"
"Semantic error"
"Roommates of Poonduck 304"
All are my fav K bl ㅜㅜ
R.I.P Naya the character Santana Lopez will forever be precious to me ❤
Which one is he ? Wat happened
@@user-kt8mo2eu2s Her its the girl talking in the last clip the dark haired one. She drowned in 2020 sadly. But not before getting her 3 year old son to safety.
@@CourtneyAdams-ns2lk oh I'm so sorry:( rest in peace
i wasn't expecting to end with naya rivera, it really made me miss her even more!
A lot of Asian lgbt drama is made for people to consume rather than to learn stories of the community. There is a kdrama I like with a realistic gay couple in it. It’s an old one. It’s called life is beautiful and I remember the tv actor lee sang woo was one of the gay couple. It was a typical 3 generations family drama that aired on the weekends. The eldest son was the gay one and it actually showed him coming out to his family including his grandma.
It’s so interesting to see the cultural differences in these videos!
이 동영상에서 문화적 차이를 보는 것은 매우 흥미롭습니다!
So good!!!! It would be nice if you reacted to the lesbian relationship in 'Nevertheless' ...
No
@@StreamHypeBoyByNewJeansbro stop dissing on the lesbians go away
YESS I was waiting for that :(
Where they any obvious lesbian scene in nevertheless though ?
If I ever went to South Korea, I would feel so safe to be around these girls as a transgender man. They’re so understandable and really accepting. They seem like wonderful people, that wouldn’t judge anyone🥹❤️
This is wholesome to watch. Keep up the good work as always.
Kim jiwoong ❤❤
You should show them these amazing gay series instead:
Korean BL: The Eight sense, Blueming
Europe BL: Skam France, Skam Norway, Young Royals
Thai BL: I Told Sunset About You, KinnPorsche, My School President
Japanese BL: Kieta Hatsukoi, My Beautiful Man, Cherry Magic
Chinese BL: My Name Engraved Herein (movie)
US BL: Call Me By Your Name (movie)
Humour, compassion, and silliness, as always. You guys are killing it!
I would die to see them react to young royals, a Swedish bl series that became popular around the whole world
When I think of a country that has lgbtq messages and actual realistic situations other than America is definitely Thailand they have some bls and gls that show awareness on harassment and other assaults including storylines on how hard being aware of sexuality can be difficult for the person and the parents
For "A shoulder to cry on" the actors said that they got closer after filming, pls support Omega X and a shoulder to cry on
Bro when he said "am I cute" I even cringed😂
I love that there are more and more Korean shows about queer couples and it is becoming more normalized, but one of the saddest trends for me to see in them is they "I'm not gay, but I'm in love with YOU" line or theme. Which can seem very romantic and may even be true for some people's experience, but it's much less about identity and kind of just ignores most queer people's experience of feeling very other and struggling to hide or fit in or struggling with being openly very different and all the things that come with that.
This is just a general observation and as more shows are made I look forward to the stories and experiences shown becoming broader and more fleshed out
I honestly thought we moved away from that trope, seems very 2016
That's been a trope forever. It's kind of not much of a thing anymore. We're seeing many more BL leads just label themselves as Bi instead... which is much, much better.
Kim Jiwoong é tão incrível ❤ Amei ver ele fazendo parte dessa lista 😊 Agora ele vai debutar no ZB1 ❤
Lesbian version next? Would be so curious to see their reactions:))
I was not expecting to see Glee or that scene in Shameless 💀
Thank you for this reaction
I don't know if they can handle reviewing all of the episodes of shameless
My favorite gay couple of all time is from china they are lucas and kibo I've been Subscribe to them for years
Wished you guys showed the eight sense and our dating sim
Please do MORE!!!! 😂😂😂😂 Loved the reactions!
the reactions for semantic error is so funny because i had the same reaction 😂 probably worse
I literally love your reactions and i would really live to see your reactions on "SKAM" Norway and "Young Royals" 🥺 please
Now we need the Yuri ones... Korea and other Asian gl/American... But i prefer a FREENBECKY reaction from their chemistry from SCOY as Khongkwan & Fon and now in their main roles in GAP.
Sam & Mon(touching moments like the proposal & grandma or Mon scene😭) . To real life sweet moments 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 ps. they could feel cringey in bl ones but i think they'll feel love so purely through gl ones.
Did u guys forget to tell them senmatic error the sec main lead is actually an idol from the group dkz his name is park jaechan ❤
Both of the main actors are idols not just dkz
Thought I was going to see some of the moodier scenes from dramas like To My Star 2 or The Eighth Sense. For ASTCO and Semantic Error I think there were better scenes to include like for ASTCO the hickey scene, the angry confession scene or actually when he's near his face at the desk and panics then hits his head on the table. Semantic Error has the costume clothes scene, the asking to not touch without prior notice, the alley scene to not avoid feelings, and the preview bf scene. To My Star 2 has fighting in the restaurant, kiss under the bridge + making dinner with the friend with benefits proposal. The Eighth Sense has therapy scenes, shower scene, or breaking it off/mistake scene. Our dating Sim has the camera fight confession scene, drunken kiss, jealous bf elevator scene and crying in the streets. Any of those would give a better complex picture of the the newer Korean bl dramas and how they deal with relationships and personal issues. I think the girls can give good commentary so I'm bummed they didn't get scenes that could have let them discuss more. Same with the western shows like Heartstopper and Schitt's Creek would have been a good choices. Also I was surprised they included western gl but not any korean gl to react to.
It would have been great if "The Eighth Sense" was included in the video, it's an excellent series
If they feel like this with the Korean and USA series, imagine what would be like for them to watch Thai dramas. Hahaha
After I started watching BL dramas I can’t turn back to watch straight ones (there are few exceptions)
Ps they’ll be shook by the amount of k-BL manhwas their country produces 😂
i knew jiwoong would be in here ♡
5:49 Stop I remember my Glee era 😅 Brittana (Brittany x Santana) and Klaine (Kurt x Blaine) were my OTP and the episode of their wedding was everything 🩵
Also, I think they should react to thai bl 👀
Semantic Error is ❤️❤️❤️
Shameless is my aunt’s favorite show idk why. Orange is The New Black also should’ve been on here since it features quite a few lesbian scenes, I’ve watched some of it myself and it’s pretty good I think
yey im fourth love watching your video always🎉😊
I feel like american series are a lot more sexual like no matter if its lgbt or not like in an american series the main couple will literally have sex in the first episode meanwhile in korean dramas it takes like 8 episodes just for them to say "i like you"
I agree but the Korean ones always do the same shy act it gets so boring and the cringey dialogues and reactions , they are adults
ye b/c everything is all sunshine and rainbows in kdramas, they're all for the aesthetics. Western lgbtq+ series generally deal with the topic of coming out and societal pressures.
Ahhh they are so nice and pretty I love their ideas on this
lmao i know every korean bl show because there aren't many of them :D but my favorite is semantic error❤ and if i don't talk about korean bl shows, then it's kinnporsche!
It's very funny to see the culture shock, for us Westerners it's even expected that hotter scenes will happen. In Latin America then, I say this because I am Brazilian 😂
OMGGGGG MY SHIPPPPP IM FAN BL I REALLY LIKE ITTTT
3:02 everyone having a meltdown 😅😂 so funny
The TV show around 4:00 the actor is a trans man and the character is too, that's why it's funny they both assumed the other one is the bottom hehehe
They end up having sex, one tries to bottom and I think they switch in the future - I can't remember. The show is called Shameless.
4:19 The show is called "Shameless" and the dad's name is Frank Gallagher
Can I recommend showing the girls some clips from to catch a predator? Also a brief explanation of how the show started and why it went off air. I think it would be great for all.
Part two please with the eighth sense and nevertheless
i would love it if you did a video about NATIVE AMERICANS in the us canada & mexico ❤
I wish instead of saying “American series” they put global so then that expands the content they can show them, as there are a lot of lgbtq shows produced from Europe and SEA
this channel knows what we like 🥲
A better series to compare would have been Heartstopper. Hope they do it in the future!
OMG Poongduck villa and Semantic Error in one video. I screamed
Kim Jiwoong has already become an idol before he debut as an actor, then he joined Boys Planet and now debuted again as a member of ZB1. As for seobin (the one Jiwoong partnered with) he was joined Produce 101 but didn't make it, and he is currently a soloist. Please do correct me if I'm giving the wrong information
Our darting sim and to my star shoulda been here!!!
I love the glory I love how she finally got payback on the bully’s they nearly killed her!
The show I recommend is heartstopper.
This show is abt discovery and teen love which is appropriate
I actually watched semantic error bc of this and I loved it ❤
Literally two of my fav things mixed together
1. Enemies to lovers
2. Lgbtq
How could i not like this but still it didn’t de throne true beauty
But it did got 2nd
I hope you also react to the thailand bl/gl dramas to!
MJ losing her mind is adorable lol
Regular shows with heterosexual characters like intense scenes as an American, its very awkward for me to watch like ill skip them mostly but the minute any strong BL show from any country comes on, just nose bleeds everywhere like my brain stops working. I think the only shows that have heterosexual characters that make me believe in love is like victorian era type shows, not like bridgerton but around that era. The way their society is held and the way its clean and elegant. Really raised my standards in love.
the way actror Kim Jiwoong is now Zerobaseone Kim Jiwoong im so so proud of him
Glee was just an amazing show! sad that most of the actors/actress have passed away.
Puck isn't sad. But finn and Santana are. Puck deserved what he got in real life.
@@CourtneyAdams-ns2lk you right, you right.
I was waiting to see Young Royals in here too but it was nice nevertheless!
SOOO Cute ^_^
4:17 not them translating it to Spim Liss instead of Shameless and Frant Gilliber instead of Frank Gallagher 😭
The just released series Wolf Pack also has a gay relationship in it.
I love how they are screaming most of the time
Isn't the second clip from Shameless? That is Ian and Trevor.
Please make a part 2
Is still many korean bl like

As a person born in the States and who discovered Asian dramas 3 years ago, I have not gone back to American tv since. I discovered the existence of BLs I think, 2 years ago and I haven’t watched a straight lead character couple drama since discovering BL’s. I don’t know what it is, but I love them so much more. In any case, there is a reason why I have not watched an American tv show since discovering Asian dramas. It doesn’t matter which Asian country it is, they all seem to make better shows than the states, at least to me. They don’t just focus on one aspect of a drama when they create one. They focus on the complete package over there. The story, actors, the acting, the music, the costumes, the locations. They just really put effort into every single aspect over there and this is for a tv series. They put as much effort into their dramas as Hollywood puts into their movies, more so even. Watching an Asian drama is almost always like watching a big budget movie here in the states, only they’re usually even better. Yes I know, I haven’t watched an American made BL but oh my gosh, why would I want to when so many Asian countries are producing content that is 9 times out of 10, gonna be 10 times better. I only got one life to live and so many hours in a day, the thought of spending my time watching an American made BL when I can be watching an Asian country produced complete and total package of a BL, well I can’t. I won’t. They just make things look and feel more natural and organic on screen over there. I don’t want to just see things take place on screen, I want to feel it too. I want to watch relationships build naturally, and with believability and I just can’t imagine getting that from something here on screen in the US in the world of BL. I do welcome suggestions though. 😊
3:43 omg!! i was t expecting to see trevor in here, i love him sm 😭

2:31 'since when could teens do that?' these women sound as if they are 60yrs old. no, elderly people are probably more chill. what is wrong with them? in Korea the _age of consent_ is set at 18yrs. that is quite high by international comparisons but still considered 'teenage'. in Asia, China has set the 'age of consent' to 14yrs, Cambodia, Laos, North Korea and Syria to 15, Brunei and Nepal at 16.
