      that should have been part of the video. given how easily lpl found the right set on each pin, I'm inclined to believe that raking still has a reasonably good chance of working. though it should take several times longer than with all standard pins.

      it'd actually be a little more difficult if it had 3 or 4 spools, because you have to be careful when pulling the spools out of a false set to not drop pins that are fully set.
      Still a nice improvement from masterlock though, and likely wouldn't be able to be raked open with most bittings, which is likely all this needs to protect against in reality.

    I just bought this the other day and had a lot of trouble picking it (I'm a bit of a noob)
    I watched a few videos of the older revision and it looked so much easier, and they didn't have spools! I thought I was really bad if I had trouble getting standard pins open.
    Glad to know it was spools! I've picked it once but this will be a good lock to improve my skills

    I find it so interesting how easy a master picker can open what should be a strong average lock. It must be sad and boring for LPL to not have a serious challenge to go through from time to time. Thank you for sharing the video that you create.

    I'd love to explore how you choose which tools from your kit to use. As an very amateur hobbyist, choosing the tools and using the tools are the two variables I need to work on. Thanks : }

    At least it actually required single pin picking and not the good ole wave rake! I'm still a bit surprised the spools didn't slow him down a tiny bit more.

    Thanks for doing the update video. Though with Master Lock not improving tolerances the spool pins are easily defeated. Cheers

    "If someone knows what theyre doing, dont expect this to last more than 30 seconds or a minute." He said, after picking it in like 10 seconds.

    Without watching the video, my first thought was: "Oh, it cannot be opened with just anything now? I'm officially intrigued!"

    Dang man you took it completely apart faster than most people could pick it. Not to mention you picked it faster than I could have raked it with all standard pins lol

    So a terrible lock is a little less terrible now…got it! The fact that it took more time for LPL to OCD the pin orientation on the plate than it took him to pick the lock says it all.

    Can you do a Christmas video showcasing how many locks you have, and how you store them? I can imagine a warehouse full of them!

    This would be the closest to a “Master Lock sponsored” video by LPL I can think of.

    I just bought one of these on 1/4/23. Picked it blind in one attempt, about 8 seconds. Gutted and found 5 standard pins.

    So instead of making it meaningfully harder to pick, they just made it slightly harder to take apart to show why it's so easy to pick. Bravo, Masterlock.

    As cold and clinical as ever. Great video and thanks for the update on this lock.
