    Using the circle skirt technique would be used for other sewing projects. One I have in mind is the Palazzo or Sharara Pants, cutting a circle in half for two legs.

    Couldn't you run elastic through the top part of the sheet you use for the waist band? That way you just attach it to the top of the circle without having to cut it open. If that makes sense

    • @Nadira037
      @Nadira037  Před 10 lety

      Depending on the material you might be able to do with out it. If it's a light weight material I would definitely use interfacing to keep if from rolling when you bend or sit. I hope that helps. Thanx for watching! :-)

    the length of my fabric is only 44".
    but the total length i measure comes to be about 46".
    so cn i measure d skirt from my low waist..n attach a 3-4 inch waistband to adjust d size?
    can d upper width f waistband be 30" nd lower part f it be 32"?
    d inner circle that i wl cut should be then 32"?
    i hope u understnd my query.

    AsSalaamu Alaikum sister Nadira,
    I am enjoying your videos. The issue I have with making Skirts and Abaya's is when I purchase the fabric. The length is always 40 inches. The width gets wider as a buy more yards. This is causing me issue in making the circle skirts. :(

    • @Nadira037

    @emyf9197 Před 8 lety

    maybe I shouldnt comment here but on previous part.. but I want quite alot of volume to the skirt. so how do I do that? should the quarter circle of the fabric go furter away from each end? Im bad at explaining hope u can answer this.. question is basically how I get much volume u know the wave when I spin..

    • @liv4cause
      @liv4cause Před 8 lety

      Instead of a single circle, you could cut another quarter or half circle and insert it so you have 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 circle (5/4 or 6/4). This will change the waist measurement, so make sure where she shows in the first video how to divide the waist, you do however many quarters you will have. that will increase the volume a lot. Hope that helps!

    • @emyf9197
      @emyf9197 Před 8 lety

    • @Nadira037
      @Nadira037  Před 10 lety +1

      Salaam hun, it depends on you height but I always use 2 pieces that are 1 1/2 long each so that would be 3 yards. Also if you are taller(like me) make sure your fabric is wider than 45". In shaa Allah that helps. :-)

    Asalam Alaikum! This is my first circle skirt and am really new sewing. I've accidentally cut my hole for my waist too large!...not sure how to fix this. I did the cut up the side where I'll put the zipper in the top, should I just wrap it around me to the right circumference and just sew there all the way down? I hope u get this and respond! I'm really excited to finish my skirt and inshallah I plan to wear it soon and make one for my daughter! Thank u and keep up the great tutorials!

    • @myriahrose9244
      @myriahrose9244 Před 9 lety +1

      I also cut my waist too big somehow.....so I sewed on the waist band first (centering it with the front of the dress) and then used my chalk to make a sew line for my back seam( remembering the seam allowance for the waistband) and then i sewed it the six inches down and then cut off the access. and my skirt came out great!
      Hope yours comes out good too!

    • @Nadira037
      @Nadira037  Před 10 lety

      h3941 no worries, just measure your waist around based on where you want it to fit it. That will be your waist measurement. You can make the width of the waistband based on your preference, you can make is smaller or larger if you want. I hope that that was helpful. :-)
