Fascinating interview, just as much about Brian's background as well as the rugby. Every northern English catholic understands where he came from.

Excellent. My first SL podcast view, partly because of the subject, a man I've always looked at with curiosity and now I have heard his story and thank you for sharing it, I now understand the man behind the image. Top bloke as others have stated, his disdain of some things, I applaud, and the fact he suffers from a similar issue I often face...insomnia..when you lay in bed for hours trying to sleep but eventually just get up and deal with the consequences the best you can, even if it involves a snarl now and then lol Thanks again 👍

Good show lads. About time people realised there is more great content to be leveraged out of current and former players than the game itself.

Brian Carney is from Cork not Dublin

    • @eltel104

I think born in Cork and played with munster but spent most of his years growing up in around Dublin.
Before he went to league he won a Junior championship in GAA with Valleymount in county Wicklow which is right beside Dublin

I should add, the "few bad apples" excuse is consistently used in relation to the church. But when the same stories are repeated time and time again across all continents then it ceases to be about individual examples of bad behaviour and becomes *institutionalised and systemic* abuse.

I didn't agree with how Leeds released him at all. No doubt in my mind that Leeds wouldn't have been as successful without him. I think he'll ensure Toronto avoid relegation too.
