Man, this takes me back... Even when I first saw this on TV at 12 years old I thought that 'Paint It Black' was the moment Lee won the competition. No other performance in the entire series held a candle to it, either in terms of vocals or just the general performance of the song. Him choosing to sing it again in the final pretty much just sealed the deal.
I still remember almost 14 years ago, after listening Lee sang Paint in black, I told to myself: the games were over to another contestants....Bravo British public .
This was on of the best contests for a musical ive seen. We live in california in the USA. We've been to the show picking for the musical Grease. This was so much fun. Sad part our phone bill was enormous for called england to vote!
He actually admitted just recently that even on the TV show, the Pharaoh was really the role he wanted. In 2018, he finally played that role in Kenwright’s production and did a great job at it.
I liked the VT ("Body For Life! When you're alone, work on your Body For Life!") which (finally) allowed us to see that Lee was quirky and actually had a sense of humour. That being said, I can see how some people might interpret it as "Lee is odd - obsessive and will do anything to win!" If anything, I think Daniel got a worse edit (barely featured in Lee's VT and his own VT was of him going back to his old job as a filing clerk). It didn't help that Daniel appeared to be wearing his work clothes for his performance, whilst Lee had a dark, brooding 'Rock God' look going on!

Yeah, even with that performance alone, it was clear he would win. :-)

Quite a great show.
Lee's song amazing
Yes Craig you nailed it well done to you ❤❤❤❤
Loved this one well done to the boys ❤❤❤
The three of the boys were really good 💯 well done lewis keith and Ben xx❤❤❤
Lee Mead is perfect as Joseph
Ben would be next Elvis Presley
Knew Lee would win this. There was no competition. Lee was the winner from the start. Though Lewis is also good and Keith. Lee was the right winner.
It's pretty clear Ben's much better for Pharoah.

The only thing I liked with Craig is hes good looking and hes got a cheeky smile ❤
Ooof that edit was not kind to Lee.
Luckily he’s wildly talented 😝
Didn’t affect his chances of winning though! ;-)
