    Thanks for reacting to this MV. And I like how you interpret the song. I never thought of that coz in my interpretation is that, these boys will give everything to a girl they love whoever or whatever she is.

  • @Sid_Istorya
    @Sid_Istorya Před rokem +1

    That's a smart reading on the metaphor of getting "devoured" by a toxic relationship. Thanks for the ALAMAT reaction. Pronunciation wise: The emphasis is on the last syllable alaMAT (legend). saLAmat (thank you) has the emphasis/stress in the second syllable.

    The MV gave you an introduction to the Ph folklore monster, Aswang. A creature known to eat babies & people through their tongues (as shown in the video).
    The song has a double meaning. 1st speaks of the the literal description/ lore of an Aswang, the 2nd is whatever that comes to mind. If you are able to listen to "Gayuma" from their EP Pasulong, even w/o subtitles, the english lyrics there will confirm everything 😅

    • @mystory-z7884
      @mystory-z7884 Před rokem

      You mean manananggal, the one with half body, eats babies using their long tongue. Aswang is a general term for monsters not just an baby-eating creature. Not all are long-tongued but definitely has the human figures that can blend with the crowd to hide. Not all aswangs are bad, some are just unfortunate like naturally born as one, cursed, or infected from the attacks.

    Perfect for Halloween.🎃 Great vocals. Someone who gets the wrong partner can or even will turn into a monster when they hurt them, even to the point of hating an entire gender because of what one person did to them.

    don't know if u know this, but alamat sings in different languages! most of the members (except mo) speak a different philippine language as their first language. the philippines has 100+ native languages. but this song was in tagalog. there are multilingual songs in the album tho.
    aswang is a vampire-like mythological creature originating from the visayas region of the philippines (where r-ji hails, and where alas' ancestry traces to, even though he's from mindanao). but it's a popular bit of folklore throughout all of the philippines now.

    Thank you! Alamat (ah-lah-MAT) pushed boundaries here with the subject of the song.
    Aswang is really a monster, almost like a vampire except they use their tongues to suck blood instead of fangs. Perfect song for Halloween IMO.
    Cheering for your changes in pronunciation. Loving it and super appreciate the effort. 💙

  • @JaroldEgan

    So, basically, this is an erotic song. It's about love and sex, mostly sex. But since there wasn't any erotic scenes in the MV and explicit languages in the lyrics, people might prefer to call it sensual rather than erotic. I just take it for what it is.
    Having said that, this is the best track Alamat has released to date (not in terms of artistry but in terms of mainstream music). It's catchy, poppy, relevant, and vibe-y. Definitely a great disco and house music.

    Thanks for reacting.. Looks like you have sore eyes.
    I live in the province and here everyone almost have an encounter with one (aswang)
    They are human by day and monster at night. They are strongest at midnight.
    My grandmother's ancestor is known to be one.. Thankfully it didn't get passed on to us because an aswang wouldn't die unless they pass the curse to their descendant.
    I remember I read a story online about American tourists who had creepy experiences that even until now they said they were traumatized (coincidentally it's in my province)

    Aswang is a Philippine mythical creature known to every Filipinos. They have a variety of different sub-species, among them are Manananggal, Tiktik, and Wakwak which are very famous. They are described to be shapeshifting vampiric-ghouls who eats human flesh and organs especially the heart. There are sub-species which are also known to have a long tongue to enter the holes on someone's roof to feed on babies while they are inside the mother's womb. Some sub-specie of the Aswang have bat-like wings, some can shapeshift into an abnormal-sized black dog, boar, or bat, there is a sub-specie which is described to have the torso of a man but a head of a horse, and there is a sub-specie that pretends to be a harmless baby but transforms into a monster and eats you while you let your guard down. Welcome to the Philippines' mythical creatures!

    aswang is not witch is a filipino vampire. there has different kind of aswang in the philippines it called manananggal. which is human in day time and turn monster at night. and the body seperating . from waist to feet is hidden and other half is flying... looking for a pregnant , baby or sick person. and the tongue can get longer to get the tummy of pregnant. and can bite human because very thirsty of blood. the other kind of aswang is called " tikbalang" which mean half human half animal. from head to waist is human.. and the rest is horse.

    Fun fact: Aswang was actually referenced on SB19's Mana. The lyric goes "Aswang ba kaya kinatatakutan?" Which can be translated "Are we monsters that you fear?". Aswang in both song means the same, a monstrous person in something, in love and in performance respectively.
