    Here’s mine:
Devil survivor 1 and 2 (still missing the extra stuff from record breaker)
    SMT 3 (with true ending)
    SMT 4
    FE:3H (all endings)
    Ys Origin (all 3 routes)
Definitely a smaller list, but I’m not really into replaying games all that much anyways.

I don't think I have ever completely replayed a single jrpg. There are a few that I've restarted (FFX, Lost Odyssey, Dragon Quest VIII), but never finished a second time. Why? When I got into jrpgs I picked up every one I could find (amongst other genres) and quickly built up a large backlog, which has only grown larger each year. So even though there are jrpgs I'd love to play through again, if I ever want to get through my backlog (which looks impossible at this point even though I haven't been buying too much lately) I need to move forward not backwards.

Holy cow, Radiata Stories made the cut! I nearly forgot about that game. My cousin and I went to grab a random game and he chose that.
Didn't really thought of it much until the story got good in the middle. Jack was such a lovable character, and Ridley was totally his foil.
I played that game over a dozen times because I thought there was a perfect ending hidden somewhere if I managed to fill my Friend Roster.
But nope. There was only two.
Xenogear is definitely my heart's favorite. With its story, mechanics and world building, it was a gemstone for sure.
Then there was Suikoden 2. I was too young to understand what happened in 1, but 2 made me a fan of the franchise.
I also moved a lot when I was young and that game was the only thing that got me going. I played 2,3,4,5 and the surprisingly good one on the DS.
Then there's FF9. One of the few Final Fantasy whose story I can somehow keep up. And I know the feeling of the discs.
After that first semi-fight with Kuja on disc 1, disc 2 couldn't be read for some reason. Had to redo it over and over till i got lucky.
My other cousin broke disc 3 and I was pissed! Got it on an emulator sometime later, and played it again for nostalgia.
Getting a new set of that game was expensive.
    Then there was Disgaea, 1-4.
Odin Sphere and Odin Sphere something something. Does that count as an RPG?
Devil Survivor on the DS, played the newer version on the 3DS. Got all the darn endings. 200 hours put into that monster. NO regrets.
As I got older, Dragon's Dogma became my next repetitive RPG. I was hoping for a different ending, but it was just a loop story.
There are so many more I wish to add but your list alone is impressive.

  • @Aussie_Tom

Terranigma, Chrono Trigger and FF8 I've played through at least 5+ times each, especially FF8 as it's my favourite game in the franchise and I've owned it on essentially every platform it's been released on.
On a slightly unrelated note, Killer 7 is a yearly title for me. Absolutely love that game and it's a quick play through specially when you're that familiar with the title.. Vanquish is another one, can finish that in about 5-6 hours so it's an easy afternooner.

I've beaten most RPGs that I like more than once and some of my long-time favorites I have beaten so many times that I've lost count. I wouldn't be surprised if I've finished Phantasy Star IV even 100 times since I first played it in 1995. Making a list of RPGs that I like that I haven't finished at least twice would be a shorter and easier list to make. But people have their own approaches and habits to playing games and maybe I'm the oddball here for replaying games that I like. I don't know what "normal" gaming habits are, I'm just familiar with my own.

This is a cool idea. I'll give listing mine a shot too.
The ones I think I've beaten multiple times are: Pokemon RBY, GSC, RSE, DP, BW, XY, FRLG, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD, Paper Mario, Custom Robo, Paper Mario TTYD, Digimon World 4, Beyblade G Revolution, Custom Robo Arena, Phantasy Star Zero, Final Fantasy XIII, and Crisis Core FFVII. Surprisingly few (18), honestly, and most are due to being handheld games and/or games I grew up with. Wild.

In my book, NieR (Gestalt, Replicant and even Automata) does not even count as "beating it" unless you get all endings. The game is meant for you to get all endings, and subsequent playthroughs are actually different each time and you don't really conclude the story if you don't get the last ending.

Mana khemia 2, you have to beat the game with both characters to unlock a final dungeon in which you can pick your party members from both groups. The dungeon obviously is a lot harder than any of the mainline ones but definitely not as hard as the hidden extra dungeon in Mana Khemia 1! But if you choose to play as Ulrika in the final segment, keep in mind if you go to do jobs to earn more money the game will freeze and you'll have to reset. With Raze it doesn't freeze but his jobs are different. The very final boss in the extra dungeon is the light Mana you see all throughout the game and he's no pushover. He's tough as hell. But then after beating him is when you get the true ending and it's definitely a lot of work doing all of that but the game is absolutely amazing and one of my favorite games of all time! 😊

    @melissagonzlazes6794 Před rokem

I only know a few of the ones on here but I definitely remember Hexyz Force for the PSP (still own it) so I can tell you a bit more about the endings.
The game has three endings: good, neutral, and bad. There are two different paths you can take with the main female or male protagonist each with their own bosses and side of the story until a point where they will all come together.
Now the endings are where it becomes a bit weird...Essentially, if you win enough battles with party members fainting, your "score" drops. If it drops enough, you'll hit the neutral ending. Further and you hit the bad ending (this is a lot harder then it sounds).
The issue is that it's very difficult to get anything but the light ending! So unless you intentionally are winning battles with unconscious allies to lower your "score", you'll never see the other two endings. You can play the game once and obtain the light ending without needing to repeat play.
Maybe you played it twice to see both sides though?

I've beaten the following more than once but mostly because they were re-released on more modern consoles after I've beaten them on original consoles -- Final Fantasy 1-7, Tactics, & Mystic Quest; Dragon Quest 1-5, 7, & 8 (all but 5 on original console release then the DS/3DS ports) and the "Heroes" spinoffs; Wild Arms (Original and Alter Code F), Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 1 (GB "FF Adventure" and remakes), Most Zelda games, including Zelda 2 (arguably the most RPG of them all), Dragon Quest Monsters, AD&D Pool of Radiance (PC and NES ports), AD&D Eye of the Beholder, Breath of Fire 1-2, Parasite Eve, Star Ocean 2, Dragon View (SNES and now on Evercade), Simon's Quest (it should count as an action plaforming RPG), and Ys 8 & Oath of Felgaia (will play Ys IX again soon).

The RPG I've played the most?
I guess it could be Riviera The Promised Land on the PSP emulator. I can easily mention 6 playthroughs to get all the endings but I just lack one that is Rose's normal ending.. also some items left but I lost the savefile so meh.
The other one could be Persona 3 Portable.. like 5th playthroughs to get both endings (male and female character) and also to get ALL social links.
My favorite JRPG FF6 Ive only beated it twice on the GBA emulator.. yeah, it sucks to live on Argentina.
My dream is to play entirely the MASS EFFECT trilogy some day.. it is my favorite trilogy of all time. Ive only Managed to play one and beated it three times. I watched the main story of the whole trilogy and felt really in love with the franchise.

A second playthrough of Valkyrie Profile is pretty much mandatory, unless you know how to do the true ending beforehand

I beat P3P twice and P5R 3 times, not to mention It was a very long journey lol.
FFXV and FFVIIR as well because I like them and they're honestly short like 30-40ish hr per playthrough and I have a lot of time when I played those.
Edit: can't believe I forgot Nier with that multiple endings lol

    For me it'd be:
    -Tokyo Xanadu: 2x
    -Radiata Stories: 2x
    -Scarlet Nexus: 2x
    -Tales of Xillia: 2x
-Tales of Legendia: 2 or 3x (can't remember if I beat it 2x and on the 3rd or if I beat it 3x and on my 4th run now)
-Ys Origin: 3x (1 run per character)
-Trials of Mana Remake: 6x (one for each character)
-Tales of Vesperia Xbox 360: 8 times (on 9th via Switch version...didn't finish that version due to the fact that when I was playing it on release the game had crashing issues so I dropped dropped it with the intention to play again once patches came out...never got around to going back to it yet)
-Tales of the Abyss: 10 times (also have a run in progress on 3DS)
-Tales of Symphonia: 15 times on GC, have a run in progress on PS3 that I was playing co-op with my bro but who knows fi we'll ever finish it...I intend to buy the Switch version once it gets updated to fix some of it's glaring issues and the price drops as $40 is too high for the game when you consider PC has had it at $20 since it's release...may pull out the PS3 version whenever I want to replay Dawn again)...to this day it is still my favorite game of all time.
There might be more but these are the only ones I can think of right now.
And while it's my second favorite series I have yet to actually go back and replay to completion any Trails game so far...I did start a new run with CS1 but am only on about chapter 2 or so there and if I do do a 2nd run it'll likely be the Zero and Azure Switch versions that I've yet to play as I already beat a fan sub of them back before CS3 came out in order to be up to date on Crossbell events for CS3 and 4 so since I bought the games I need to beat them at least 1x.
Other games I intend to play/am on a second run:
-pretty much all Tales games again as it's my favorite series even the ones I mentioned above but especially the more recent ones that I've only done 1x ONLY due to the fact that my days of replaying older games like Vesperia, Abyss, and especially Symphonia have left me with a lot of games in the backlog from that era I've yet to actually finish as I dropped them when I was in the mood to play one of those 3 Tales games...Berseria, Arise, Xillia 2, Hearts R, and Graces F in particular I want to do another few times once I catch up on some more games I'm on (Bersy, Xillia 2, and Hearts R I'm actually in the middle of a second run for each game and Graces F I gotta start from scratch again as my sister overwrote my only save file 10 years ago shortly after my first run and I've yet to go back to it...was pissed due to that so couldn't get back into the game for a while...due to that I started having multiple save files and always have at least 3 to 4 extra files just in case of that or data corruption occurs on one of my saves).
-All Trails games I want to get a second run though...in particular I'm in the mood to re-play Sky 1 and 2 (3's not bad but wasn't as good as those 2 imo so may not re-run it tbh) and of course my Switch Crossbell runs.
-Ys games besides Ys 1, 2, and 6 (didn't like those 3 much tbh).
-all of Vanillaware's beat em up jrpgs and 13 Sentinels
-Sakura Wars 2020 (only got 1 run, will probably aim for 1 run per heroine
-Shining Resonance is also one I want to put in at least 2 more runs for the blond elf and black haired chick (did brown haired elf run)
-Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 at least 1 more time, probably Revolution too as I didn't hate it like most people
And probably a bunch of other games I'm forgetting that I finished at least 1x before...granted still got 1st runs for a lot of games though that I never finished due to said Tales binge period I had in the GC/PS2 into the PS3 era (I just love the feel of Tales combat too much with how close to a fighting game it can get).

I'm always conflicted about finishing games. Seems like I got eyeballs that the void uses to see what the void can't otherwise see themselves without me. So if I finish a game, then that means the void also has no need to purchase the game themselves, since they consider it already finished, vicariously through me - therefore, the game developer suffers from reduced consumer investment - all because I looked. It's like I'm only allowed in the lobby of the video game industry - and any further would spell curse and disaster in an attempt to condition me to never ruin games or to rip out my own eye balls. i.e.: metroid dread, not killing the chozo scientist. okami - not entering into the city. ffix - never leaving alexandria. ffviii - never entering ifrit's fire cavern. bayonetta - never leaving the train station. ruiner - don't kill the cigarette boss. zelda ocarina of time - don't enter into the deku tree dungeon. zelda twilight princess - don't leave link's hut.
    anyhow... it was worth it.
... that, though. no that wasn't worth it. must have been theirs.

What I normally do is commit to 1 modern title and 1 retro title. For example, I play Radiant Dawn during daytime and play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 at night. And then I throw in 1 mobile game. In my case, it's HI3, cause I've been playing that game for like 4 years already. I hope this helps you the same way it did for me. As you can see, I play games with different gameplay mechanics. I do this in order to avoid being too burnt out of the genre. Keeps things fresh.

      @novantha1 Před rokem

It depends on the person. For me personally, it took me a while to realize this, but I tend to play JRPGs in short play sessions, which agrees really well with portable gaming. Steamlink, playstation Remote Play (to my Vita), and the Steamdeck have all been absolutely killer tools for me to knock out more of my backlog, and the ability to pause / suspend games has been crazy useful for me, personally. You may also want to experiment with android tablets if this appeals to you, though they will be limited to retro games for the less technically inclined.
Alternatively, some people psychologically have difficulty when given a lot of choices, and literally just need to uninstall every game but the one they want to play.
Some people just need to take a break from gaming for a while until they actually really want to game.
Some people need to play in specific ways in order to enjoy it, like achievement hunting, or speedrunning.
Some people just need to set the game to easy, because that's what they enjoy, or to the hardest setting because it forces them to immerse themselves and engage with all the systems in the game.
It's touch to say, but just try a few things and you'll eventually find what works for you.

For me it would be Dragon Quest 8 & 11. 8 I think I've played through 3 times, and 11 twice, I love these games so much. Also I think I'm about to do another rerun of them soon XD.
PS I passed Grandia 3 twice, the first time soon after it came out, but I just couldn't really remember how it went, so I recently replayed it again. I can tell you why it's underrated - it's the story. Just look at G1&2. The first was a masterpiece and the second, while a bit weaker, was still very good. G3 though? Jesus Christ the story there is a putrid mess. Everything starts going downhill once you escort the heroine to the temple. From that point, the story gets dumber and dumber, there are a ton of plot holes, there's even one villain whose sole purpose is to die at the end without doing anything, he just literally exists to die (the weirdo in the beret). The game force feeds the word "love" down your throat like your'e a goose bred for foie gras. Graphics and battle system? Awesome. Just skip the story amd enjoy the battles, you're going to come out of this game with more IQ points than I did after I replayed it.

I play games constantly but weirdly enough I don't think there's a JRPG that I can say I finished more than once. I HAVE replayed quite a few of them mostly because when I played them initially I wasn't able to beat them hence why I came back to actually finish them. I recently just "replayed" Hack//G.U. because I played that game from Vol 1 to the middle of Vol 3 but never actually finished it.
I don't count Pokemon as a JRPG but if someone does, then I guess that's one since I played Gen1 and Gen2 far too many times than I can bother to remember. Brigandine is a tactics RPG, does that also count as JRPG? If so then yeah Brigandine I also finished quite a number of times. Castlevania I beat multiple times each, SOTN and the GBA ones specifically.
I recently replayed FFV but didn't actually finish it on my 2nd playthrough. So yeah I don't think I've actually beat any JRPG twice since the ones I actually did beat more than once I don't think counts as a JRPG? *shrugs*

Breath of fire 3 and 4 a couple times
    Ogre Battle like 20 times
FF Tactics 3 times(with lvl 99 characters and all sub quests lol)
    Tactics ogre twice
Tales of Destiny. Other's in the series I have done once. Newer titles have an extensive new game+ settings so i will be back to them later.

    Star Ocean 2, and 4
    Dragons Crown

    odin Sphere
Secret of mana like 8 times
Legend of mana a couple times
    Granstream Saga
