    Thanks Gabe!
I'm here because I'm 2 years into my first novel ... and I've only written the first chapter... 😮 (9 drafts of chapter 1 so far!)
But I have _finally_ finished the full story outline, which makes a huge difference, and I'm about to confidently begin first drafts of chapters 2 to 5 tomorrow. At least that's my plan anyway! 🤣
But in the past 2 years I realised that without the full outline I was basically stuck. The plot didn't make sense until I had the full outline written.

I definitely hate plotting but I can't focus on moving the story forward without it. I can think of one shot scenes and subplots fairly easy but the main plot is always a struggle.

Great video Gabe! I’ve got two things I’d like to say/ask.
First, I’m a bit of a “pantser” rather than a “plotter,” but recently I’ve been working on a webcomic and I’ve found that having an outline does help me remember where I want the story to go and keep me on track.
Second, this is a follow up to the question I asked on your last video. If I was to write a character in a fantasy story with no modern technology that wanted to go through with a full transition, would using magic be ok? Something along the lines of transmogrification (that’s the closest term to what I was thinking of). Also, I was maybe thinking of having them be in the middle of learning to use that type of magic (it’d be an advanced skill), so they would use a simple illusion spell for the time being to appear how they want to look. Would either of those be ok or no? The character in question would be male-to-female and a sibling of one of the protagonists.
