    Thank you for the video. For many years I've been using Rimmel Match Perfection foundation (the one with the blue cap not the red one) and I was always very happy with the quality and shade that I'm using. Last month I thought maybe I can use a rather more expensive and professional product for my skin so I bought this and I'm so disappointed with my shopping and spending that much on a product that I can't return and continue using. It makes my skin so dry, making my skin look older than it is, and after the first hours just showing exactly what you showed here. I will go back to Rimmel that's the one that works for me and I never should've thought in the first place to change it.

      Thank you so much for watching my video, I am so glad you enjoyed it. My only recommendation for this foundation is maybe mixing it with a bit of moisturizer so that hopefully it doesn't dry out your skin as bad, but I am with you on this one, I had similar issues (it dried out my skin and made me look older and made my skin look dehydrated). This one just did not work for me. I am going to try the Rimmel foundation that you mentioned, I always love a good drugstore foundation. Thank you again. 😊

    I have oily combination skin and it did the same! Didn’t feel right, showed every little imperfection, amplified pores, made it feel tight and yet this is the one they recommend for my skin type! Like you said it looks good from afar but zoom in and have a look on camera or just in the mirror and it’s not great. Wondering if it’s my or our skin, maybe I didn’t prep right or might just not be good unless you have normal or pretty much perfect skin type 😢 You nailed it on the what you said about it looking texturised. They wouldn’t let me return it either (I bought in store). But in online says you can return if not a good fit 🤷‍♀️

      I honestly think that this particular foundation is just not for my skin type. I like to make sure my skin is really moisturized before I apply foundation. But even with applying a good amount of moisturizer this foundation just did not sit well. It has alcohol denat in it which tends to dry out the skin. I think that may be one of the contributors to our poor experience with this foundation. I am surprised they did not let you return it, that is really disappointing because it’s not a cheap product, they should’ve given you a refund if you are not happy with the product.

    Thank you for your review, it really helped me to make my decision. I have a acne prone combination skin and most of the foundations looks cakey on me and even dry in some areas. Also oxidation is almost an inevitable problem. I have tried doublewear, hourglass, teint idole etc but still looking for a better option.
    The most promising one is synchro self-refreshing from Shiseido so far. Probably I’ll go for it.

      Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I think I’m going to give the Shiseido Synchro Self-Refreshing foundation a try but I feel like that might be a summer foundation for me, just because my skin is more on the dry side and I think it may work well as a summer foundation. Thank you so much for watching my video and for commenting. 😊

    i just got this foundation on a whim and i also got the Clinique 100h moisture surge and when they are paired together it works wonders. I do have combination on the oily side, so maybe thats it?
    it also lasts for the whole day, without needing too much touch ups/

    Ahhh im sorry the foundation didbnot meet all your needs ,i enjoyed the review ,i have all of the same issues you have with my estee lauder and clinique foundation.but some days are really better than others when i do a little facial scrub and a good moisture then the foundations sits well without the flaking n dryness.now i am currently awaiting my delivery of this clinique serum foundation and i wanna just scream...but what the heck ill have to just have my own experience too.

      Thank you so much for watching my video and for your lovely comment. I’ve had similar experiences with foundations from Estée Lauder and Clinique. I agree some days my skin is better than others too, I really need to make sure I moisturizer it well, but this foundation was disappointing for me. But hey maybe your experience with it will be better, you won’t know until you try it out on your skin. I would love to hear your thoughts on it once you try it.

    You should spray the sponge and your face with the moisture surge spray then blend in. You didn’t do great skin care and prep the skin either…. The skin still needs to be a bit dewy before you apply.

    I just received my Clinique foundation, I read the ingredients. I am very disappointed since Alcohol Denat is way up on the ingredient list. I suffer from rosacea, so I won't be keeping it. 😢

      @thecristinamaria  Před rokem +1

      Yep I also returned mine, I was so disappointed. It really dried out my skin. I find that any foundation with Alcohol Denat as one of the main ingredients not only dries out my skin but it also sometimes makes it feel itchy. I generally like more moisturizing foundations, they seem to work best for my skin.

    I just got this foundation and had the same experience 😭 I have normal/combo skin with hormonal acne and was wanting this to work so badly because the coverage is great and so many people love it. What is your favorite foundation? I need one that doesn’t make me look drier than clay dust 😂

    • @thecristinamaria
      @thecristinamaria  Před 10 měsíci +1

      First let’s acknowledge your hilarious comment “drier than clay dust”, I literally laughed out loud when I read that! 🤣 so good!
      Now when it comes to foundation I love a foundation that gives my skin a bit of glow/dewiness and doesn’t make my skin look like I am wearing a lot of makeup (I like my foundation to blend nicely with my skin). Some of the foundations I really love are the Haus Labs foundation (just make sure you moisturize well before using it but I feel like this is the case with all foundations), I also really love the Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving foundation with SPF 25. Both of these are a good medium coverage. If you are looking for a lighter coverage foundation the Fenty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin tint is just incredible (it is lighter coverage that can be buildable, love this one especially for everyday).
      What foundations have you tried that you really loved and found that they worked well with your skin? I ask this to get an idea of the types of foundation that you gravitate towards.

      @@thecristinamaria thank you for responding! Oh gosh, I’ve tried many foundations over the years, but not many in the last 2-3 years since turning 31 and hormonal acne hit hard. I’ve tried Estée Lauder double wear, which is really nice coverage and finish but also a bit dry and very heavy. Smashbox Studio Skin was okay I guess. Nothing special. I tried Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, which provided great coverage since it can also be a concealer, but you can imagine it was heavy/sticky. It also oxidized and darkened really badly! The oxidation was embarrassing. That’s where I’m at. The Haus Labs foundation sounds nice. Just a bit pricey. Might be worth it if you like it?? Or since I don’t want it to look like I’m wearing a lot of makeup, maybe I need a lighter coverage with a good concealer. Just a matter of maybe finding a good combo that go together seamlessly? I like how easy using one product is though

      I agree, I find that it took me so long to figure out the types of foundations that work for me. The Haus Labs is good because it has a more natural finish and it lasts nicely on the skin, but I agree it is pricey. I also really liked the Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation, not as pricey as some of the high end ones but offers nice coverage and lasts nicely on the skin. And I heard the the Morphe Filter Effect Soft-Focus foundation is really good but I have not personally tried it yet. It has been out of stock at Sephora for a while now. I also, have never tried the Eatee Lauder foundation, always wanted to try it but I feel like the coverage would be too heavy and it will make my skin a bit dry. Based on your review of it I don’t think I want to try it since you say it’s a bit drying. I have not tried the smashbox foundation but I hav tried the Clinique Foundation + Concealer and it did give great coverage but when I tried it again recently I did not live it and I agree about it oxidizing. Let me know if you try the Sephora or Haus Labs foundation. Thank you for responding 😊

    It looks on my normal smooth exfoliated hydrated skin soooo bad and Flacky 😢 it creates imperfections that do not even exist
