There is a way for you to experience exactly what Jordan did. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, read the Gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) with &
an open heart and mind. He’ll show you he’s real, that He loves you & cares for you, and wants you in His kingdom! Praying for you! Don’t listen to the naysayers! This is REAL! It’s not superstition, or a fantasy, or even “religion” it’s a new life in Christ far beyond what you could ever imagine!

      _"Son of God..."_
      Nope.
The Bible makes it clear that a human descendant of David, not God, was the father of Jesus. The terms, "seed", "flesh", "root", "fruit of his loins", and "offspring" mean that Jesus was the biological son of Joseph.
      Matthew 1:1
"This is the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David."
      John 42
"They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
      Acts 2:30
"Therefore being a prophet [David], and knowing that God had sworn an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne."
      Hebrews 2:16
"For he [Jesus] took not the nature of angels, but the seed of Abraham."
      Acts 13:23
"Of David's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a savior, Jesus."
      Romans 1:3
"Concerning his son Jesus Christ, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh."
      2 Timothy 2:8
"Remember that Jesus Christ is the seed of David."
      Revelation 22:16
"I, Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches; I am the root (progeny) and the offspring of David."
      John 1:45
“We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote; Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
      Matthew 9:27
"When Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, thou son of David, have mercy on us."

Jesus is Lord and the Savior of the world, saving us from our sins. Jesus shows Himself in so many things, none over the inspired written word of God. She saw Him in Narnia, I saw Him at the end of the 3rd Matrix movie when Neo sacrifices himself to save humanity. The cross of light coming out of his chest and him becoming the very virus that is trying to destroy everything. Neo became the virus and Jesus became our sin to save us from our sin so that we might become the righteousness of God.

Why? Do you have anything but wishful-thinking backing up your religious beliefs? I'm serious. I was just joking here, but if you've got something - _anything_ distinguishable from delusion and wishful-thinking - I'd love to hear it.
How about *one piece of good evidence* that your god is real, rather than just imaginary? Just *one,* please, but specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself.
Alternately, I'd accept *one piece of good evidence* that _any_ of the magical/supernatural stories in the Bible actually happened. Your choice. I will _give_ you a guy named Jesus who was crucified by the Romans.
Well, anything? I'm not interested in a Gish Gallop of vague claims, but that's always what I seem to get from theists (Christians and Muslims alike), when they don't immediately run away, at least. As far as I can tell, you guys just tend to believe whatever you were taught to believe as a child, because that's the religion you _want_ to be true.

    Where does morality come from?
It is an evolved phenotypic behaviour among all social mammals.
We all have self interest (3.8 billion years of unbroken successive progeny demands it), yet we social mammals, who need the help of the group to survive, also need to be seen to be engaging valuably with the community, otherwise we will be ostracised from the group and risk isolation and death.
    Genes give us feelings.
Trying to interpret those feelings may give one an answer that suits - but to every complex problem there is an answer that is simple, plausible, and wrong.
The real answer is more complex than the simple, plausible answer of God.
The 'feeling' of conscience is a shortcut, a self-deceit, a reroute to doing "the right thing" regardless of whether or not god exists.
    Morality exists without god.
The percentage of 'believers' is far higher in prison than outside.
If atheists were without morality there would be more of them in prison.
    Yet we find the opposite.
Because morality predates religion, and the idea of god.
Children are told that they must be good if Santa is to visit bearing gifts.
This is mere manipulation of the innate sense of conscience, of moral virtue, that we social mammals are born with.
We are not born with 'Original Sin' - this is a method of manipulation by the church to make us toe the line.
We do not need to confess, or pray, or implore an exterior entity to forgive us our sins, then all will be well...
This does not make things well with the person we have wronged regardless of whether or not there is a god.
Perhaps even worse, if people forgive others their sins too readily (because a forgiving god would want it) then people will be more ready to commit sins.
So the simple, plausible answer... that there is a loving, forgiving god, for whom we ought to do our best, or he'll judge us and if we commit every heinous sin in the book leaving a trail of devastation, but repent and believe in the last moments, we'll go to heaven, but it we behave unimpeachably all our lives but don't believe, well then he'll send us to everlasting damnation, because he loves us....
    Come on folks.
    There are good atheists.
    Many of us.
I now expect a whole load of, shall we say, unChristian confrontation.

    • @mrrolight
      @mrrolight Před rokem

@@coulterkel "seeing the other side"... Nope. No scientist, clinician, or any other empirical expert ever says that what they see is "the other side". They do however record the common near-death experience of an approaching "light" but that may just be the effects of a waining consciousness, much as people who faint refer to their experience as a "white out" or a "whitey" - it's not that complicated really.
