I don’t remember if you have done this but you should do a yearly favorites when the year ends. That would be so much fun to see your favorites of the year and you can even do categories like best grower, biggest size up, etc
Great idea!
This would be awesome actually!
New Fern song…”I cannot w this…” remix…sending prayers Girl…it’ll be alright 🙏🏾❤️🌱 love your channel 🥰
Fern 🙌🏽 bringing the faves and making my day 🥰🪴
thank you so much 🥺🌿
Oh my gosh I clicked my subscription box hoping you’d uploaded, just to see this uploaded 17s ago! 😂🎉
omg perfect timing lol!!
would love to see a video about like plants that have had the best glow ups for u! Like a then vs. now sort of thing w pics and clips. I think it would be super cool to see the progress that plants can make!
This is the perfect video for me to watch before heading off to bed. It's super cosy!! ❤❤
I see you glued the mushroom pot back together.
Yes!! 🙌🍄
We all just saw the variegated maranta get grounded by her mom 😭😭😭😭
Straight up right in front of us…😂
I am noooot impressed!
Strawberry begoias are a type of geranium from my understanding! I love my non variegated version. She grows really fast. ❤
They are actually part of the Saxifraga family that includes Crassula (Jade Plants), Heuchera & Astilbes. Such a crazy plant! 😁
@lvbaum3 oh wow! That is so interesting. I guess Strawberry Geranium is just another common name like Strawberry begonia :)
You uploaded on my birthday 🥳 You’re the best queen ♥️✨🤗
Omg no way!!! Happy birthday Natasha 😍🤩🎉🎈🌿
@@wildfern thank you 🥹🙏💜
I just got a GIANT, and I mean giant, calathea triostar from my local grocery store. It’s stunning. I adore an affordable, thriving, grocery store plant.
unwinding with fern >>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for watching 🥺🌿
Omg! I saw a variegated maranta in the store 2 days ago and was so tempted to buy it!
I may go back lol
Go get it !
Did you get get it? If not go get it!!!
@@julieoyundo I went back today and got 2 🤩🤫
5 inch pot for $11! Couldn't pass em up again!
I used to struggle with my scindapsus exotica too. What I do notice is that it likes getting indirect morning sunlight from my kitchen windows (roughly 8-10/11am), it will not grow when not getting enough sunlight (especially the one that I have in my bedroom). Dilute water fertilizer, everytime I water it (oncw every 5 days or when leaf wilted a bit)and with very well-drained soil (eyeball perlite, pumice, leca ball and peat moss or garden soil (either one). Add to chart begonia strawberry!
Thank you for this! I agree with you, I think light is really important for them 🌞
Try putting your maranta in a garbage bag and spraying it, then tie it and leave it for a bit, I've even left plants in a bag overnight. The bag helps the pest spray work much better!
I should have done that for all of ‘em lol!
Yayyyyy! Another favourites video from Fern😍
Fern I'm gonna tell you why ... the scindapsus are so tricky. It's the underwater, they don't perk up so well after being underwatered, the leaves in my experience were still fold . I chopped and propped mine and than now i have a full rewarding pot of scindapsus silver anne. It's all in watering at the right time
Yay! It made my day to see a favorites video to chill with while I do my plant chores!
Awe thank you so much for watching!
yay! love my daily dose of fern! (and yay, you fixed the cute mushroom pot!!)
Yes I sure did! Thank you so much for watching 💚🌿
So obsessed with the gigas! Finally ordered mine on ebay last week and I can't be more excited 😊
How did I miss this yesterday!!! Can’t wait to see your favorites ❤
Awe thanks for watching Vicky!
I love your spooky repots! 🫶🏼🥹🪴👻🕯️
You’re the best - thank you 🥹 so excited to share them soon!
Love your favourites this month your plants are looking so beautiful and healthy ♥️
Thank you so much :)
My variegated heartleaf looks almost identical. I adore yours too! Yes!!!! I was shooketh when I saw your gigas!!! I JUST ORDERED ONE. It has me so excited. Thank you!!!
Oh I just love your favorites videos! Thank you for sharing! ❤ just added the silver cloud to my must have list!
Awe thank you so so much 🥹 this made my morning 🥰🌿
Your Gigas is so beautiful Fern :) so so beautiful!
Ah thank you!! It’s sure been impressing me :)
Stawberry begonia is such a cute easy care plant. I got mine as a freebie. It was a plantlet that hitchhiked with a hoya I bought at lowes. 😂
I hope it grows into a large hanging basket one day. 😊
Adorable !!!❤ I love the calathea ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks so much 😊
Your hair has grown so fast!! 😍😍😍
Thank you 😃
I worry about putting plants outside because of pests. Also, once you have thrips, i feel like i can never relax. I am constantly looking for them and thinking every little speck is a thrips.
Jane Perrone (On the Ledge Podcast) did a whole episode about the strawberry saxifrage: 7/26/19 (#104). Apparently it's a bit of an old-school houseplant. She'd be pleased that you showcased it!
Oh how cool! I will have to listen :)
That autumn-y begonia is one of my favourites in your collection! If I ever start my plant collection I need one 🖤🧡💛🍁🍂
Awww yes it's so gorgeous and surprisingly easy care 🥺 thanks for always watching 💖
That Hoya well Ian’s is at the top of my wish list!! I need to find one soon.
I hope you’re able to track one down! Highly recommend :)
Thanks for all you planty videos, i am fairly new but really enjoying them. I would love to hear more about how you care for them, esp light and water. Thanks so much!
Welcome and thank you so much for watching 😊
My grandma had a greenhouse and always had a ton of plants and when she would bring them in in the fall she put them in a big garbage bag, sprayed house raid and sealed the bag over night! I've since this several times when I've had a big i wasn't sure of aka not a spider mite, and it works sooooo well! I haven't lost any plants or even noticed any damage. The only thing is i make sure to wait several days to get them back into harsh light to avoid the chemicals and light leading to a burn. Obviously, i would prefer something more natural and i tend to do that (peroxide normally) but the plants with s ton of leaves often need the harsh treatments out of the gate. I'm in Ontario (closer to Manitoba) and I've opted to not put any inside plants out, except my kalanchoe, but i originally bought them for outside and they just don't die so i house them all winter... i need to be careful but with pests and good i kill them as i have birds and birds can die from you coming with Teflon so you can easily imagine what something made to kill can do! Plus, birds can get certain mites and stuff just like any animal and my nearest avian vet is 3 hours one way, and i don't want to have to deal with that... so natural as possible while requiring the least amount of treatments is best for my time and my pets...
Funny enough, i got an alocasia yesterday and the tag says it's gmo and pesticide free and i was like "why? You're toxic no one can eat you either way!" 🤣 It was nice to see that though bc they means some nurseries are having less of a negative impact on the environment! 😍
I do something similar!!
I have large clear plastic bins and I put my pesty plants in them and spray them with captain jacks intermittently for a few weeks. Seems to work!!
Beautiful! Love the Hoya!😊
Thank you so much 😊
What a great group! I mean every single one was a stunner. That calathea rufibarba was gorgeous, and the little strawberry begonia is so so stinkin’ cute! The autumn ember is practically glowing, and the gigas is thriving. I love how much you love your gigas, she makes you so happy every single time you talk about her!
Sorry about the thrips. They are the bane of my existence and that calathea was beautiful anyhow. Hang in there xoxo
Awe thank you so much! 🥹 I am so happy with all of these plants. And yes ugh I am so over thrips!
@@wildfern 💕
My gigas has gotten massive I can’t get over it. And it’s so easy, idk why everyone still calls it the curled melano-but it’s so much prettier and so much easier
I agreeee! It's sooo stunning and wayyyy better to care for than the melano lol!
I love that little mushroom pot 🍄 😍
Right - it’s so cute!
Fern, just a lil tip for if you decide to move your plants out next season. Try treating them with a systemic pesticide before moving them out. A granular systemic that you can water in would probably be best. And then a bit before you bring them inside for the season, treat them again with a systemic. Preferably a different brand so any buggies that developed an immunity to the first one will be taken out by the second one. I also like to wipe down leaves with rubbing alcohol wipes, and then spray off the leaves with distilled water to remove any alcohol residue.
My jaw DROPPPED when I saw your GIGAS! Wowwww
Right!! I’m glad I’m not the only one impressed by her beauty 😍
Hi Fern. I saw you buying your Calathea - Rufibarba, on your camping trip video (other channel). I have one that is 3 years old. I bought it as a baby plant with 2 small leaves. It has grown and been repotted, but not reached the size of yours. If it ever gets that big, I will be so happy. Love, love, love your variegated Maranta. Sad about the thrips, but it looks so happy and robust. An outdoor vacation shows it grows better.
How cool that you’ve been growing one from just two leaves - that is impressive! I definitely cheated by getting a big one, but I couldn’t say no haha! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Scindapsus, for me, is always having a slow slow start but once it establishes, it's a really fast grower
Great faves! Sorry about the pests. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching :)
Aaaaah my perfect me time video!❤
hope you enjoy ☺️🌿
Cute cute strawberry begonia
I don't have any hoya yet, that one is amazing!! ❤
Oh honey I can feel your stress just watching you.... I am also debating on putting my plants outside next summer.. its too stressful and I change the substrate so its getting expensive and really the plants didn't grow any better then the ones I kept inside.
The heartleaf philo is so gorgeous 🥰
Thank you :)
So cosy video 🥰🌿 I have a plant that looks like the philo gigantus and I also fell in love with the dark color and texture of the leafes.😍😍😍💖
The strawberry🍓 "begonia" looks sooo cute 😍😍😍 I kind of want in now but dont have any room for it 🙈😅
Thank you!! And I feel that, there are so many plants I want but I’m running out of room too lol.
@@wildfern hate when that happens 😅
It’s called creeping saxigrage. At least my regular one is so it may just have Albo added in there somewhere.
Enjoyed your videos ❤
Thanks so much!
Your favorite videos are my fav ones to eat 😭😭
Thank you 🥹
Walliniana looks awesome!
Thank you!!
Omg now I want the Philodendron gigs 😊
They are amazing!!
Lowes in my area is going crazy with its begonia sales. I'm literally waiting each week for its next drop.
Wtheck. That gigas! I have like all of the velvets, so i haven't worked much about gigas but it is now back on the list.
Also my v. heartleaf leaves come out crazy variegated but also wonkily shaped. I like it, but it looks like a mutant. 👾
It would be good to know the plants that got pests vs ones that didn't tip see how robust they might be?
I can only imagine how stressful bringing so many plays back in is, good luck!
That is the first gigas I've seen on any channel and im wishing they could make a like velvet fabric in that deep beautiful color for a pillow or even a statement piece like Ottoman or couch
You have the cutest pots! Oh my gosh ❤❤; to me scindapsus don’t love clay pots, after I repotted her to a regular pot she doesn’t curl up much
This one is in a plastic nursery pot inside the terracotta. I agree with you, I don’t normally tend to go for terracotta. However, my big scindapsus exotica is in terracotta and loving life somehow 😳
Omg I was eyeing one of those Autumn Embers. So gorgeous. I’m sorry about the thrip situation. Poor maranta was looking so good too 😢. Hopefully things are more under control now. I just bought like, 5 new plants, and I’m hoping none of them will be bringing along any unwelcome guests. 💚 🤞🏼😅
Awe yeah gosh I’m so over pests lol 🥲 good luck with your new plants! 💚
I AGREE WITH YOU my die SCINDAPAUS SILVER CLOUD I LOVE SCINDAPUS some are a little hard to grow
‘..the vibes? Maybe? idk 🤷♀️’ was incredible ❤😂
Your Gigas is making me quiver. I cut mine and while it did give me two growth points, both are ~unwell~ and so rough looking ✨ Thanks, I hate it.
Hahaha! And oh nooo, mine went through a tough time too but now she is stronger than ever 🥹
@@wildfern there’s hope for her yet
btw, ‘luxurious’ is the best descriptor for Gigas. I agree completely it’s way underrated
@@hollypuckett3931 truly! It looks like royalty with how velvety it is 🖤💚
Good luck with the buggies
Awe yes me too 🥺 thank you for the positive energy 💚
I prefer hoya videos and hope you do another soon
Near as I can figure out it likes to be damp, the strawberry begonia plant.
Good to know - thank you :)
I no longer put my plants outside because of the pest problem although they do grow better outside in the summer.
Yeah what a hassle honestly! not worth it for most of them lol.
Nice video! Question about your variegated heartleaf Philodendron…. What kind of temperature do you keep it at? I have one that grows year round, but only produces variegated leaves during the winter, when the temperature in my sun room is mostly in the 60s. Then they revert to green as soon as it warms up in spring. I’m trying to figure out if that’s just how these work or if I have a weird clone.
I love my rufibarba, can't believe you got that for $16.99, wow!!
It was a deal I couldn’t refuse lol!
Yeah, I only have a couple of plants outside. Even opening the windows on nice days, I found aphids on a plant. So I can understand not putting plants out at all.
I get worried about opening windows too lol! 😩
Wow I got mine rufibara from trader Joe's today! It was destiny! $13.99!
Where do you get your small moss poles? Like the one you use for the variegated heartleaf
I might need a gigas now 😍
yes!!
I have hope that my rufibarba will get as beautiful as yours
That gigas 😍😍😍!
Right!! 🥹
Aaaand I’m buying a gigas. A low maintenance velvet philodendron?! Sold! 😍
I do like your Hoya Will…. , it hangs beautifully. What is the full name? Was last hanging plant
Gigas ❤❤❤
I have Always loved v heart leaf. When you said in a video that you thought it was overrated. All I could think was just get one!!! They are so different from pothos
Yesss I’m very happy to have one 🥰
Had to look on my invoice but I also have had a strawberry begonia for about 5 days 😂
I know nothing but I can give you its name " Saxifraga stolonifera tricolor" mine was 6.99 😂
I think there is a bug with the video. It won't play🙁
I feel like the universe is telling me to get my hands on a gigas😫 gotta purge first, it’s just not ideal time to sell plants as a private person this time of year round here. My setup is also lacking and sunlight in my flag decreases by day.
Can you grow some Calathea variants! Some other regulation techniques would be lovely.
I would love to! Most of them just don’t seem to like me lol :( but I’d like to figure them out.
Don’t chop her Fern! I’ve stuck the larger grow poles over the top of smaller and used plant Velcro to secure it! It’s slightly unstable but I find that once it gets two nodes securely attached it will not shock when you chop it, or even stress really! Try it! I’ve only ever chopped a pothos.
Oh good idea! Thanks for sharing 💚
Lol'd at the questioning life choices. My love of plants began outdoors, and thrios were just a way of life. They looovveee dahlia flowers. Despite temptation, i just can't put my plants outside. You can 100% ignore thrips (and aphids) outside, but if they got inside...☠
Yessss exactly! Ugh it's not worth it honestly lol
Just do pest prevention before you bring them back inside or give them all a shower, check them over and treat if necessary.
식물들이 멋있네요❤
Thank you 😊
How and when do you water your moss pole I was told that they have to be watered every day
I water mine about every 2 days with a squeeze bottle. It's best to water them before they dry out, as it gets much more difficult once they reach the crunchy dry stage!
Love your videos! Do not love those dang pests!!! I’m so sorry you found more ughh
I've found thrips last night and spent today spraying. I only have 2 hoyas and one had thrips crawling. Ugh.
Ugh they’re so awful! 😩 sending good vibes
Does anyone else take twice as long with plant chores because you keep stopping what you're doing to look at what Fern is talking about?
Hahaha this happens to me too when I watch plant chores 👀
Where do you keep your Gigas ?
On a shelf in my dining room with a grow light shining on it, it does get some east facing light in the morning, but it mostly grows from artificial light!
🥰
💚💚💚
I’m getting a no stream retry button. I still get nothing on retry. 😢
Ok went to Wildfern then got in. 🎉
💚🌱💚🌱💚
Good for you & your dumb Gigas 😂 cause I just threw mine away cause it wouldn't grow all the leaves fell off & it got root rot & died. 😢
Ur hair is getting so long, it looks great!!!
Thank you :)
🧡🧡🧡
