Michael Bolton, Celine Dion and Kelly Clarkson evolves such strong emotions in people. I love their voices and how sing soulfully down from their toes…Jesus ❤…yes I said toes because stomach doesn’t seem like a strong enough word for it and using the word stomach would be an understatement 😂

A certified smooth reaction 👨‍⚖! I see 👁👁 you have reacted to Michael Bolton before: When A Man Loves A Woman. How Am I Supposed To Live Without You was released as the second single from Michael Bolton's 1989 album: Soul Provider. It was written by Michael Bolton and Doug James. It was produced by Michael Omartian. The song reached #1 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It became the first new #1 Hot 100 single of the 1990s.The music video was directed by Greg Gold. The song earned Michael Bolton his first Grammy Award, taking Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 1990 ceremony. Billboard ranked it as the #12 Hot 100 song and #4 Adult Contemporary song of 1990.
The song was originally offered to Air Supply to record. The group wanted to do it, but Clive Davis (executive producer and then-owner of Arista Records) wanted the chorus modified and Michael Bolton didn't want any part of the song changed. As a result, Air Supply put the song on "indefinite hold". While Michael Bolton was waiting for Air Supply to record it, he received word that Laura Branigan taped it, not from sheet music (the usual method) but from his demo tape.
When Laura Branigan took the song: "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", to #12 on the Pop chart in 1983, it marked Michael Bolton's first big hit as a songwriter. He was in the midst of a career transformation, having fronted the Rock band: Blackjack, in 1979-1980 while still using his real name: Michael Bolotin. With Blackjack, he wrote the song: "Love Me Tonight", which made #62 Pop in 1979, but he didn't crack the Pop chart again until Laura Branigan recorded and released the song: "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You".
Michael Bolton would soon take matters into his own hands and become a Soft Rock superstar performing his own songs, but in the mid-'80s he was just trying to write some hits. He told Bruce Pollock around this time: "Right now I've got songs on about 12 or 13 albums. I have no idea whether they're gonna be sung well, whether they'll be produced well, whether any of them will even be singles. But I'm hoping for hits".
Michael Bolton released a self-titled solo album in 1983, the same year the song was a hit for Laura Branigan, but it wasn't until his 1989 album: Soul Provider, where he released his own version of the song, that his singing career really took off.
    Song Credits 📝:
    Michael Bolton - lead vocals
    Michael Omartian - keyboards
    Michael Landau - guitar
    Neil Stubenhaus - bass
    John Keane - drums
    Lyrics 🗒:
    I could hardly believe it
When I heard the news today
I had to come and get it straight from you
    They said you were leavin'
    Someone's swept your heart away
From the look upon your face,
    I see it's true
So tell me all about it
Tell me about the plans you're makin'
Then tell me one thing more before I go
Tell me how am supposed to live without you
Now that I've been lovin' you so long
How am I supposed to live without you
How am I supposed to carry on
When all that I've been livin 'for is gone
I didn't come here for cryin'
    Didn't come here to breakdown
It's just a dream of mine is coming to an end
And how can I blame you
When I build my world around
The hope that one day we'd be so much
    More than friends
And I don't wanna know the price I'm
    Gonna pay for dreaming
When even now it's more than I can take
    Michael Bolton Info 📰:
Michael Bolotin aka Michael Bolton was born on born February 26, 1953 in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a singer, songwriter, actor and producer. Michael Bolton is regarded as the “King Of Blue-Eyed Soul”. Michael Bolton began writing songs at age 9. At age 14, he formed a group: The Nomads, that were signed to a singles contract by Epic Records when Michael Bolton was 16. With his parents' permission, he dropped out of high school and left home at age 15 to travel cross country along U.S. Route 66 and pursue music full-time. He took odd jobs, including one as Paula Abdul’s babysitter.
Michael Bolton performed in the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music genres from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, both on his early solo albums and those he recorded as the frontman of the band: Blackjack. He became better known for his series of Pop Rock ballads, recorded after a stylistic music change made in the late 1980s. He has sold more than 75 million records, and recorded eight top 10 albums and two number-one singles on the Billboard charts, as well as winning six American Music Awards and two Grammy Awards. Since 1975, Bolton has released 24 studio albums and 35 singles. Nine of his singles have peaked at No. 1 on either the Billboard Hot 100 or the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts in the US. Billboard ranked him as the 83rd Greatest artist of all time.
Michael Bolton achieved his greatest success as a Pop singer in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He performed songs written by or co-written with major hit songwriters of the era including Diane Warren and Desmond Child, but also had several hits that were remakes of 1960s Soul classic songs. One of his first major hits was his 1987 interpretation of the Otis Redding classic song: "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay". Otis Redding's widow, Zelma Redding, said she was so moved by Michael Bolton's performance "that it brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me so much of my husband that I know if he heard it, he would feel the same".
Always interested in Soul music and Motown classics, in 1989, Michael Bolton released a cover version of the song: "Georgia On My Mind", by Ray Charles, with which he had another hit. In 1991, Michael Bolton released the album: "Time, Love & Tenderness", which featured his Grammy Award-winning cover version of the song: "When A Man Loves A Woman", first recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966.
From 1987 to 1995, Michael Bolton had four top ten albums and seven top ten songs in America. He had even greater success on the Adult Contemporary music chart with where her had a string of 14 consecutive top ten hits including eight number ones.
Michael Bolton also had 12 top ten songs in Canada, but was less successful outside of North America with four top ten singles in the UK and a few others in various other European countries.
Michael Bolton's work during the period has been criticized for being derivative, and in 1992, The Isley Brothers filed a lawsuit against Michael Bolton, claiming his 1991 hit song: "Love Is A Wonderful Thing", plagiarized their 1966 song of the same name. A fifteen-year legal battle resulted in a $4.2 million payment to The Isley Brothers from Michael Bolton, his co-writer and their publisher.
Michael Bolton's last Top 40 single in the US was the 1997 hit song: "Go The Distance" (from the Disney animated movie Hercules), which peaked at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. He hired conductor Larry Baird, the orchestral musical director, conductor, and arranger for The Moody Blues, Three Dog Night, and Al Jarreau, for his 2001 tour.
Michael Bolton's popularity declined in the late 1990s, but he continued to have adult contemporary hits through the mid 2000s. He released albums every year or two through the mid 2010s.
In January 2013, Michael Bolton published his autobiography entitled: "The Soul Of It All: My Music, My Life".
Michael Bolton has received the Lewis Hine Award from the National Child Labor Committee, the Martin Luther King Award from the Congress of Racial Equality, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also recognized him with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his musical and charitable contributions.
Michael Bolton still performs his music live on stage in 2023.
